SO impressed

I was excited to try out earthling Ed’s new place and wow the food was incredible. There’s quite a few options to go for other than a classic cod/haddock and chips- I had the jumbo lemon shrimp and it was delicious.
The staff are great and it’s nicely decorated too, I would recommend this place to anyone 👍

Pros: I could eat the tartare and aioli sauce everyday , The fish replacements were perfect , Great location on the seafront

Loved every bite

Cannot wait for my next visit to try more. The smoked haddock and chips were really tasty. The "haddock" wasn't like any faux fish I've tried before and I thoroughly recommend trying it. Chips were epic and (according to my friends) the portion sizes have increased since opening. I didn't think the price was bad for a big meal and simular to other seafront brighton chippies

Pros: All vegan, Unusual style that's delicious, The chips

Delicious but expensive

The calamari were absolutely fantastic! Haven’t tried anything like this since going vegan! Wish I could try everything on the menu. Prices seem kinda high though

Pros: Unique flavours , Variety of options

Cons: Expensive

Amazing but hole family still hungry

One of the best vegan fish and chips I've had in Brighton.

The tofish was a good size but for £12 (large) they could off thrown in extra chips.

My wife had the reg tofish meal and my three kids had the 2 x tofish bites and 1 x vegan sausage kids meals. For sides I ordered the tempura prawns plus 2 x mushy peas and 2 x curry sauces.

All of us came out hungry at the end this is why im giving 3 stars as it was pretty poor value for money.

Summery - great food but seriously could of done with extra chips

Pros: Delicious food, Great dips, All bio degradable takeaway packaging

Cons: Massive lack of chips, not good value for money

Interesting prospect, lacking execution

Found the idea of vegan fish and chips in Brighton too good to pass up, but left feeling underwhelmed.

The signature tofish has a very dense feel and though had the flavour of fish, the texture was totally unlike the real thing. It was so heavy that I couldn’t finish the “haddock.”

The chips were the saving grace - they tasted double cooked which was amaaaaazing.

Shout out to the calamari (yum!) and prawns (also yum!) very generous servings of tartar sauce and condiments.

The restaurant itself had ZERO atmosphere and customers were whispering to each other since there was no music to fill the space (that’s a lie, there was, but it was an awful dads disco playlist played seemingly for the benefit of the bored cashier who lived on her phone between orders.)

The execution also missed a trick, I think, in not emulating a real fish and chips shop - it felt like a trendy boba tea joint rather than a fast food joint which I think doesn’t really work for me.

I think I am passionate about these guys making a dent in the fish market so it’s a shame to see them missing the mark this way.

Pros: Purely vegan, Great sides

Cons: Expensive compared to the real deal , Bored staff , Zero atmosphere

Fish-tastic!

How exciting to have vegan fish on Brighton seafront! 🙏

The flavour of the different types fish is excellent! Bravo!
The texture of cod and haddock quite heavy so I could only eat half. So filling...

I feel conflicted as I love Earthling Ed and the whole ethos behind this venture but it currently needs improvement.

Walking in, the restaurant was cold and quiet with the girl on the till scrolling on her phone. I had lots of questions about what the different menu items were and she didn't really know the answers which was frustrating.

There was no vibe but I'm so happy to support this new era in vegan cuisine!

Pros: All vegan, Vegan fish?!

Cons: Expensive, Service

Best fish and chips you can get

And I mean if, I challenge everyone to find a better one.

So tasty, the texture is just great, not very dry nor juicy, the batter is not too thick and oily. Tartare sauce delicious and mushy peas as well. Also the chips are great in texture and flavour. The large portion will satisfy you for good and it’s just £12… bloody cheap imho.

The only improvement I can think of is getting rid of single use cutlery and stuff, even if it’s compostable why not use just simple and plain metal cutlery that can be reused forever?

Pros: Cod texture and flavour , Sauces and sides, Price

Cons: They should avoid single use items

Good but expensive

We visited this restaurant about 4 weeks ago now when they first opened. The menu is very good, classic fish and chip shop style of menu.

I had the medium cod and chips for £8. The chips were very nice! The ‘cod’ was pretty decent for vegan fish, my non-vegan friend just said it tasted like battered tofu, which essentially what it is - so I’m not sure if they should make this cheaper? The sides were also quite expensive for the portion size.

The decor was lovely and service was great. Location was decent also, a short walk from the pier. This restaurant is great for vegans with non vegan family/friends who also want to have fish and chips on the beach.

Pros: Fully vegan menu , Good and quick service

Cons: Expensive

Excellent.

Lovely “fish” and chips. The best I’ve eaten. The chips are wonderful. The staff are friendly and the place is always busy, even in winter. Good portion sizes even for the kids meals.
The food is addictive!!!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Kids meals, Three cake options, if you have got room!

Cons: No coffee/tea but they are looking into this., Water should be easily available (one can ask).

Super delicious fish and chips. I don't know what they do to that tofu but the result is amazing. Highly recommended.

Best Chips Ever

Situated on the sea front so you can eat in or take your goodies over the road and sit on a bench with a sea view. The chips were the best I have ever had anywhere. We had the calendar, tempura prawns, battered sausage and tofish burger. All were amazing. We went twice in two days :-)

Fantastic! Seafront vegan fish n chips!

Amazing food, incredibly tasty!
Large portions of to-fish - both the cod and smoked haddock flavours were good. Also tried the spicy wings, which were great.
Definitely recommend!

Best chippy ever

Amazing chippy by the seaside. I was looking forward to try earthling Ed's restaurant and it did not disappoint. Not the cheapest (if compared with traditional chippy) but for the quality and quantity I think it is very fair priced.

Pros: Amazing food, Super cute place, Lovely staff
