Their "vegetarian" options ARE actually "VEGAN"!!

This is the best ramen I have ever had in my life!!! There are 2 "vegetarian" options which are the "shio" (salt) and "shoyu" (soy sauce) ramen. I spoke to the chef and asked him what was in the "vegetarian" ramens that made them not vegan, but he couldn't seem to answer the question and started asking me questions. So I asked (in fluent Japanese) specifically and went through questions like, any meat or fish derived products like dashi or any kind of broth, or meat/fish "extract" granules or powders? "No". Ok so its definitely vegetarian. Any dairy products or egg products? "No." So no milk, cheese, no butter, no powdered milk, egg, egg yolk, honey? "No". Not even in the noodles? "No". He said that they did used to have some of those products but has been "trying to study about vegetarian/vegan diets and has been taking them out and changing the menu." He was an incredibly modest man that seems to work insane shifts. He is always there and closes in the am hours.

Pros: The best vegan shoyu and shio ramen in the world. , Cheap. Open super late (like 5, 7am the next day), Very freindly staff and chef.

Tasty

I paid about 1,300 and waited almost 10 minutes. Both were not expected as in regular noodle places, those number are smaller. However, it was worth it as the dish was tasty and satisfying. I’m putting a photo of the exteriors, to help finding the place.

I tried the vegan noodle dish

I tried the vegan noodle dish, it was huge with lots of stuff in it but didn’t have a lot of flavour, it’s a tomato based broth but weaker then others I had tried but something to eat if you need, if in tokyo i’d recommend the veg option at Soranoiro Nippon at the Tokyo train station instead.

Pros: Large quantity , Lots of cabbage etc in it

Vegan ramen for under $10 in the heart of Shibuya? Yes please!

We stumbled upon this place while exiting Shibuya Station (take the Mark City exit and walk for a while). It's just near "A Happy Pancake." You will see the billboard on the street and the ordering terminal outside the entrance (you can change the display language). There are separate tabs for Vegan and Vegetarian options. You can also add on a donation to charity, too. I personally appreciate when businesses make an extra effort like this, and it does not come across as pushy, just a brief moment if mindfulness. Either way, just punch in your order and add-ons, pay (you can use your transit card to pay) and get the tickets that you then give to the server inside. We got the vegan tomato based ramen with extra vegetables.

One nice thing about this place is the utensils are all reusable, including the face cloth they give you before your food arrives (although it is in a thin plastic sheath). The ramen arrived about 10mins after we sat down when the place was 2/3 full. When it arrived... Holy cow....TONS of vegetables!! I recommend not paying extra for more vegetables as there are already plenty as-is. One disappointing thing is there was no tofu in it, so it's definitely low on the protein side of things. The flavour was good, just your typical savoury tomato herb kind of base. The noodles were thicker and cooked more al dente. But for under $10 USD for a yummy bowl of vegan ramen, you can't really go wrong. Definitely worth the visit!

Pros: Amazing value, TONS of vegetables, Quick, efficient service

Cons: Not much protein in the meal
