Best Sushi in Japan! Reservation required! - Edit
An amazing sushi restaurant! Don’t let the small size of this place fool you, they have big big plans for veganism in Japan and across the world! Everything they made for us was sensational. Go for the big platter and try everything they have to offer. What a place!

Excellent Sushi - Edit
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Reservations are essential, so make sure to book on their website.
Read moreIt's quite a small place and we were seated at the bar, but it didn't feel crowded or cramped. Staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered using the tablet, so it was all straight forward - though note that there is only one meal option (set plate of ten sushi pieces) so the only meal decisions are what drinks and desserts you want to accompany that. Payment is required when placing the order.
The sushi plate is served with miso soup and pickled ginger. The miso soup was tasty and had some lovely bits of tofu in it.
The sushi was excellent! We were all agreed that the scrambled egg was the only one that didn't work for us. It didn't have an eggy taste to me (no black salt and it just tasted of mayo), and the texture wasn't right either. The tempura shrimp also didn't totally live up to our expectations. The crispy texture was perfect, but there was no rubbery texture like we expected from the shrimp. Everything else was great. The pickled ginger piece was a wonderful surprise, really zingy and tasty. The tuna was my favourite, the mayo was used sparingly so the fishy flavour came through. I usually find avocado sushi quite uninspired, but the dressing on this one really elevated it. All the little touches of sauces and dressings were really good.
For dessert we all got the doroyaki - two little pancakes sandwiched together with red bean paste. They were sweet and tasty, but I wish we'd got the ice cream for accompaniment as it was a little dry.
There weren't many non-alcoholic cold drinks on offer. We all got the yuzu soda, which was fizzy and fun.
All in all, this was a really fun experience. It was nice to be able to try ten different flavours of sushi, and even when we didn't like one of them it still felt like a great deal.

Perfect first meal in Tokyo - Edit
Best sushi I’ve ever had - favourites were the egg (scarily realistic) and the tuna. We opted to try the sake tasting as well and enjoyed that. The interior of the restaurant is so cute and I loved that they were playing music from Ghibli films. You currently have to make a reservation to dine in, so don’t miss out!

Best Vegan Sushi in the World – A Mind-Blowing Experience in Tokyo - Edit
Vegan Sushi Tokyo is the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had. Each piece is carefully made, with perfect texture and presentation. Everything feels authentic and thoughtfully prepared.

Speechless - Edit
Its amazing!
Read moreOnly downside is the reservation and ordering process. Basically you have to pay a deposit of 3000yen, which you get back. Then you have to access a different page via QR code in the store and pay (again) for the sushi. Feels a bit laborious but even then it’s still worth it!!!
Pros: Vegan sushi, Atmosphere
Cons: Ordering/reservation process

Unique and delicious sushi experience - Edit
Probably my favorite place of my entire Japan trip so far. The mixed sushi platter was absolutely delicious, the dessert (Japanese pancakes with red bean paste and vanilla ice cream) was outstanding. This is probably as close to a traditional sushi experience as you can currently get.
Read moreThe staff was also super nice and they even gave me a list of recommendations for other vegan friendly restaurants in Japan.
Definitely a restaurant I will return to at some point, either to see what new creative sushi variants they come up with, or to just order the exact same thing over again and be just as happy.
Pros: Really delicious, Friendly staff, Great relaxed atmosphere
Cons: On the expensive side, but well worth the money

Come here FIRST on your trip to Tokyo! - Edit
This little sushi spot in Shibuya right near the station is amazing.
Read moreThe sushi is fabulous. I brought my boyfriend who is born and raised Japanese but isn’t fond of raw fish, and he said, and I quote, it’s the “best sushi in Japan”. Get the set meal with a drink and dessert for the whole experience. My favorite is the tempura sushi. Flavors and textures are 10/10.
The reason I say to come here first is because the staff is incredible and will give you recommendations for your entire time in Tokyo. Pyon, the owner, is the sweetest person in the world, and her recommendations are fabulous and very discerning. Every time I come back to Japan, I come here at least once. It’s my vegan anchor restaurant in Tokyo!

Tourist Trap - Overpriced and Overhyped - Edit
I usually avoid leaving negative reviews for fully vegan establishments, but unfortunately, this was one of my least enjoyable dining experiences in Japan so far. While the food was of good quality, the overall experience left much to be desired and of all the options in Tokyo, I cannot recommend visiting this restaurant.
Read moreThe atmosphere was heavily commercialized, with an overwhelming number of English advertisements throughout the restaurant pushing their various add on's, which took away from the dining experience. Additionally, the prices felt quite high for what was offered. I also found it off-putting that the online menu included a section asking for tips, and there was an additional tip jar at the entrance—something that felt unnecessary given that tipping is not customary in Japan. It seemed to take advantage of tourists who may not be aware of local customs.
To top it off, as we were leaving, the waiter was quite persistent in pushing a map and asking for a review, which added to the discomfort. Unfortunately, I wish I had a more positive experience to share, but based on my visit, I can't recommend this place.
In my opinion, vegan sushi is difficult to execute well in Japan, where the focus is on fresh seafood. If you’re looking for plant-based options, I’d suggest exploring other traditional Japanese dishes (ramen, soba, etc.) rather than seeking out vegan sushi, which may be better enjoyed back home.
Pros: All vegan
Cons: Atmosphere, Price, Touristy
