Best vegan food In Vietnam - Edit
We didn’t spend to long in Vietnam due to Coronavirus but in our time we spent a lot of our time in roots. Why? Because everything about the place gets 5 stars.. staff, comfort, atmosphere and most importantly the food!! The food is to die for and when it comes to vegan cuisine roots are on point.. you will not be disappointed at all.. burgers amazing, smoothie bowls absolutely refreshing and delicious. Buddha bowls, fresh, healthy and delicious. All made and cooked fresh and all done and served In a reasonable time. They also sell vegan products so don’t forget to checkout what they have.

Amazing plant based food! - Edit
We went here twice in one day because I couldn't find anything else in the city that could compare. So many options and wonderful food. Also it was made quickly, awesome portions and was not too expensive!

the same goodness as in their Hanoi location - Edit
I initially went to the one in Hanoi and loved it. This one is good too but they've reduced their hours and when I went the first time I didn't know and they had just closed when I'd arrived so I wasn't able to get anything.
Read moreI went here two or three times during my two visits to Da Nang, and each time I wanted to try the chia seed dessert, but unfortunately they never had it.

Check open hours - Edit
We arrived here just before 3pm. We were told they were closed, even though there were quite a few customers there. The guy said said they close at 2.30pm !!! We looked bemused and went to the restaurant next door. We could see that Roots were still dishing out food after 3.30pm. Maybe he just didn't like the look of us. We chose not to go back there during our stay in Da Nang.

Cons: We felt not welcome
JoelT84
Their hours are posted on Happy Cow and on their facebook: Hours 08:00 - 14:30
Read moreThat's inconvenient, but that's the hours.
I'd say it's a positive that they serve costumers that arrive before the closing time, and then allow them to stay past the closing time. Other places start turning people away a long time before closing and kick out anyone who remains the moment the clock strikes the closing hour!

Super lecker und frisch - Edit
Gemütliches, kleines Café. Sitzplätze sind überwiegend draußen. Die Bowls wurden frisch zubereitet und waren äußerst schmackhaft. Leider war der Selleriesaft mittags schon vergriffen.

Liebe in meinem Bauch :) - Edit

very nice food - Edit
their food is good. They have a lot of regulars and it's near full almost every lunch and dinner! We hade the whole menu and our personal favourites are the pesto toast/ sandwich and the japanese nori buddha bowl. The Buddla bowls are a big portion and that is coming from people who like big portions or going for seconds;). Their homemade granola is amazing too, actually. Ok, just pick your own favourite...
Read moreStaff knows enough English and is kind. There's a variety of superfoods and enough choice on the menu. You order and pay at the counter directly. Service is fast everytime. Pricier than your regular Pho, but then again these are partly uncommon ingredients and they have it all available most of the time.
Pros: delicious food, kind people, fast service
Cons: a bit too much onion/ garlic depending on the dish

Disappointing - Edit
I've eaten twice at Roots now and have been disappointed both times.

Best of Both Worlds - Local Ingredients, Global Flavors - Edit
Even though I stayed in Da Nang for only three days, I dined at Roots over five times. This place is definitely a must-visit for anyone who's in town. The menu really celebrates high-quality local ingredients, such as jackfruit and cashew nuts, but simultaneously embraces flavors of international cuisine by introducing dishes such as smoothie bowls and burgers. For those who still yearn for a more localized experience, spring rolls are delicious. Also, restaurant's interior is very cozy - I loved eating while on a swing!
