Good food - Edit
For me it gets good stars for the feeling that I can order anything in the menu because it’s a vegan restaurant. Everything was pretty nice overall.
Read moreThe Vietnamese coffee had a bit of weird not expected texture (lumpy), I’m not a coffee person but I’m used that the coffee is “filtered” from textures, it should feel like water, “clean”. Maybe you can understand from the pictures.
Also the Japanese bowl was pretty nice and different flavor but I was sure it would be like poke bowl with sushi rice, so my bad I didn’t check good the ingredients.
Pros: Vegan, Raw desserts
Cons: Lumpy Vietnamese coffee

Lovely vibes - Edit
Great cafe with lovely vibes. The smoothies are a must try (but the vegan breakfast was delicious too!) I spent the morning here working but found that it was a bit hot and the music on the loud side. Electricity went off twice! But I think this is not the usual 😅 I'll be coming back because they have combo deals were you can get a drink, toast and smoothie bowl for 120k

Fresh food oasis - Edit
Just a few minutes walk from the beachfront, Roots is a lovely place to relax and refuel. Its Mediterranean-inspired design makes for a very chilled atmosphere, with warm colours, organic archways, wicker chairs, and bursts of greenery. The open front is really nice and gives that half-outdoor feel, just watch out for mosquitoes at dusk.
Read moreThe restaurant is popular with remote workers; we joined them one afternoon, sitting on a cosy corner sofa on our laptops. After a while, however, the lively jazz music does become rather distracting (so perhaps don’t make the mistake of sitting right below the speaker like we did!).
The food here is really great. We tried the Let’s Plant meat burger a couple of months ago in their old location and were looking forward to having it again, but unfortunately the patty was sold out. The pulled seitan was the only burger on the menu all week, in fact, but it was still a tasty option; nice and fresh with the red coleslaw! The Buddha bowl was also very fresh and delicious, with herby, crispy falafels, creamy hummus and tahini dressing, and an umami fermented tofu feta over a fragrant, citrusy salad mix.
Their pesto is so yummy! I recommend the basil pesto toast in particular, perfect for brunch and really good value, especially as part of their combo deal. Another great choice is the English breakfast—not particularly authentic but delicious all the same. I liked their twist on baked beans using chickpeas and their marinated tempeh is soo good.
In terms of drinks, the lime juice is a solid choice, simple but refreshing. The Rise Up shake is very decadent and more like a dessert—it was so thick I coudn’t suck it through the straw! The masala chai latte wasn’t the best, as we didn’t like the grainy texture it had. Their coffee is pretty good—both their coconut coffee and Vietnamese style ice coffee tasted great. Their desserts are all raw and looked nice (I was eager to try the banoffee pie) but in the end we ran out of time and stomach space!
Pros: Fresh flavours 🥗, Lush pesto 🌿, Chilled co-working space 👩💻
Cons: Evening mosquitoes 🦟, Most burgers sold out 🚫

Great western-style vegan restaurant! - Edit
Lovely place in Da Nang. Western-style modern cafe-restaurant. Super friendly and helpful staff. Decent wifi.
Read moreVery extensive menu with lots of options. We had lunch and dinner so we tried a few things. The presentation was really good.
The coconut dream cake was fantastic, the tiramisu didn’t taste like tiramisu to me, I’d probably call it a chocolate cake. The cacao smoothie bowl was tasty, but a bit small. The Buddah bowl was really nice, very fresh, it’s a pretty big side and I loved the falafels. The pita bread with hummus was really really good, a pretty big serving for a side dish.
Overall, a really nice experience but a bit pricey for Vietnam.
Pros: Lots of options. Really tasty food, Friendly stuff, Good presentation
Cons: A bit pricey for Vietnam, Smoothie bowls are a bit small

Best in Da Nang - Edit
I have been eating at Roots for three years and it is consistently delicious. The ambiance has always been great but the new location takes it to another level. The food presentation, varied menu, super fresh ingredients, and friendly staff are always on point. Literally everything on the menu is amazing (I’ve tried it all), and the raw lasagna is easily the best I’ve ever had. Don’t miss this place when in Da Nang.

Favourite in Danang - Edit
We went here for brunch and got some combo delas which included smoothie bowls, coffee and toast with toppings. They were all delicious and very filling! We liked the decor and service- chilled and friendly and spacious. It was of favourite of the very good eateries in Danang. The only small issue is that our smoothie bowls came out before the toasts and would have preferred them the other way around

My Kinda Place! - Edit
If I’m going to eat western food in Asia, this is what I want. Lots of healthy options and raw desserts that don’t use cane sugar! I popped in quick to grab some take out before my flight..couldn’t have worked out better. The space was airy and bright and if I was in DaNang longer I’d definitely go back!

Good Vegan Western-style food - Edit
It’s a nice western-style cafe with tons of dishes like bowls, burgers, sandwiches and smoothies. Very tourist oriented, but if you are in need of some scrambled tofu it might be place to go.

Disappointing - Edit
Came here based off of reviews but was disappointed. I came around 8.30pm and half of the burgers were unavailable. I went for what the lady called their most popular burger however I was disappointed. I did not like the imitation meat that was used, I think it was from a japanese company the menu said. The sweet potato chips were ok but only about 5 of them served with the burger. Sad to rate a vegan place so low. However the staff were very friendly & provide free water. Maybe I had the wrong thing.
