Soul-Warming - Edit
The table settings have all the loveliness of a sunny Sunday picnic, with sweet bright touches (string lights, potted plants, etc.)—like a Sunday picnic at an evil-free cow farm!
Read moreMy wife had the “smashed avocado” on toast (yes, the meme-iest millennial meal; we perpetuate the stereotype, gladly) and a hot chocolate.
I gobbled down the reuben, which was a creamy and tangy sandwich tower of gut-gladdening comfort food.
For dessert we enjoyed a (gluten-free) coffee and chocalate cake—oh dear lord it was soul-warming!

Great cosy vegan spot - Edit
Walked 20 minutes in the rain to find this cute eatery today. Ordered hot drinks and chips, though there were some amazing sounding things on the menu. Chilled vibe, would really recommend. Dessert fridge had some lush looking cheesecakes!

Could be better looked after - Edit
Unfortunately this place could be much better. The place itself is badly looked after with dirty floors that haven't had a brush in ages and unsightly decor. The tea I ordered came with a dirty pot and cup. Moreover, the staff seemed absent minded and just a bit.. off? Overall an unpleasant experience for what is supposed to be a highly rated cafe in the middle of town.

Strange burger but good cake - Edit
Really nice banoffee pie - yummy pastry, fillings and good ratio between all the components. Decent sized slices.
Read moreThe oyster mushroom burger was quite bizarre. The raw-tasting onions and cinnamony sweet potato chips made it a very strange flavour experience. Not terrible, but also not very good if I'm honest. The chips that came with it were also just okay, not salted (but fine, I added my own salt) and tasted kinda like the fryer oil hadn't been changed in a while. The whole place smelled like old oil too.
The poor girl working there was the only person on front of house, handling all orders, clearing tables, cutting cake, answering the phone, bringing out meals etc... From someone who also works in hospo, this is far too much for one person to do. Despite this, she was friendly and efficient.
Pros: Great cake/pie, Good sized slices of cake/pie
Cons: Weird burger, Average fries, Place smells like old frying oil

Disappointed with the service - Edit
I was not welcomed, I asked the server if I could sit on the patio, and she said we are not serving food there. There were 2 tables in the corner under the bar, and I said, "Can I sit on one of the tables that it was not facing the bar. There were 2 tables with some leftover dishes dirty. She said No, sit on the clean tables."
Read moreWell, I guess I am not welcomed. She was busy talking to another person there. I don't know if he was another coworker ot boss.
While I am writing this review, I see now that the tables are cleaned. But oh well. She could do it for me when I was inside.
Sad, I work in the traveling industry that people ask me all the time where to eat.
Well...not in Holy Cow...
Cons: Service

Another vegan burger - Edit
It's a really nice and cozy restaurant.
Read moreI liked how they brought me a bottle of water on the house, the moment i sat down.
Regarding the food:
As I've read so good reviews, I had really high expectations. Unfortunately, my burger (quarter pounder) didn't live up to them.
It was good, maybe the patty was a little dry. But to me it was just another ordinary vegan burger.
I probably should have picked something else.
The cakes looked very good...

Cute little place with tasty food!!! - Edit
We came here as a group of 7 and they were accommodating by moving tables together for us. It’s a very small cafe, but some very tasty food!! Very large open faced sandwiches/toasts, Reuben didn’t have quite enough meat too it and the bread was a little soggy, but overall very tasty. The Biscoff cheesecake was incredible! My mom was really hoping for some wine to have with her meal, so worth noting that they don’t serve alcohol. But for some that’s a plus!

Holy Cow is right! - Edit
A little hard to find but what a cute funky little place. And let’s not forget the food- simply fabulous! The service tho - not so much... They really need to work on that. Fortunately the food and cuteness of the place more than makes up for the lack of service. Well done Holy Cow.

recommendable without hesitation - Edit
First we went past it as the entrance is not so obviously recognisable like the neighbouring shop's are.
Read moreGood food and polite staff. The main room can get noisy when the room is full. Our large dog found enough room to lie down although people occasionaly had to step over him.. Dogs that are not as relaxed or need room to withdraw may find not enough space to do so. When seated outside in the back it is very quiet and even the cietie's noise is fainted quite a lot.
Overall a good experience.
Pros: Food, staff, dog friendly
Cons: radio was a bit loud
