Best vegan in OC - Edit
Honestly this is the very best vegan restaurant dining in Orange County. Upscale cuisine without the upscale smugness or upscale pricing. Simply outstanding food. It's our family favorite.

Main dish very salty - Edit
For starters, we got the truffle fries and potato soup; they were OK/average/nothing special. We had the main dish (which is small), the shepherds pie, which was so salty I can only take a couple of bites. It was really strange, because the fries and soup were not overly salted.

You MUST eat here! Amazing food and Service! - Edit
We have eaten at the Plot in Oceanside and also the express takeout in Carlsbad many times.. absolutely Love Love it!
Read moreWe were so happy they opened one closer to us at “The Camp” by south coast plaza.
Everyone who works here treats you like family! So warm and genuine. It’s a small family owned restaurant ALL VEGAN (owners are awesome too) They are happy to explain the dishes and all the care that goes into what you are going to be eating. It is all Plant Based and locally sourced.
The Plot is adorable and funky..it’s quaint and totally hip… like your eating in a giant tent yert!
There is also heated outdoor seating if you have a pet with you too!
They have dishes that are Organic , nut free or Gluten Free etc just ask them . There is really something for every taste at the plot. The food is so tasty clean and absolutely beautifully prepared..you can taste the love in every bite
We love the cheezyyy truffle fry’s and the Chronic Sushi. The Chix and biscuits is crazy good as well (if you want something a little heavier) but delish. Whatever you order you really can’t go wrong here we have enjoyed everything.
THE PLOT IS THE PLACE! Totally worth the little hassle of the busy parking lot. Make reservations get there a little early and look at the cute shops nearby because it can get very very busy!

Blown away - Edit
Everything was fantastic. The presentation of each dish is beautiful. It was like eating at a five star restaurant. The crab cake was outstanding and the bread pudding was out of this world. We highly recommend. We will be back to try more.

Loved their food - Edit
The ambience is very nice. Earlier it used to be Native Food. The food was really good. Ordered some appetizers and main course. Loved their biscuits and gravy. The desserts were delicious as well.

Fresh, delicious, upscale vegan - finally!!!! - Edit
Thrilled to have an upscale vegan eatery in the OC! Really enjoyed our experience. Sat at the fire table outside and had pillows and blankets to keep us cozy. Tried the cup of butternut squash curry soup (outstanding), chronic roll (good but would be better with a dip of soy sauce), plot primavera salad (most excellent – my favorite dish), meatless loaf (very tasty and hearty portion with great sides) and a special broccolini appetizer with tasty spam bits. Food is absolutely fresh and very delicious. Felt wonderful after eating and will definitely go back!

So happy to finally have you here! - Edit
The much anticipated restaurant is finally here in OC. While I’m sure many are bummed to see Native Foods go, wipe those tears.
Read moreThis place is a true hit! The beautiful architecture of the building and the crazy outdoor seating with the fire pit, are so unique.
The menu is a true adventure. The Shepards Pie and biscuits and gravy are a delicious! You won’t regret it for a moment. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Spanish olive oil cake, it’s to die for.
So happy to have a new restaurant in our area, welcome friends!

A great rebirth in Orange County - Edit
We used to love going to Native Foods in the camp. When they went out of business it left a hole in the area. No Longer!!! The Plot has renovated the space and we had our first dinner there tonight and it was fantastic. The services was amazing and the food was very flavorful in all the right ways. We will definitely go back to try other items. My favorite tonight was the meatless loaf. #Veganuary

Yummy and unique - Edit
We had Saturday brunch here and everything was delicious.
Read moreThey had 3 different off-menu specials going, which the waitress described to us as changing daily, and she also gave us recommendations.
If you don’t know their concept or philosophy, it’s worth a google before you go, but the local sourcing, super fresh produce, living wages, and rotating menu all make the higher price tag worth it.
Our party ordered the chilaquiles, spam & kimchi bowl, biscuits & gravy, and the Benedict special. Each dish’s flavor was unique and savory, fresh and satisfying. I’m stoked to live so close and will definitely return, assuming I can find parking!
Pros: Rotating menu with lots of specials , Super fresh & flavorful, Great service
Cons: Parking at the Camp is tough -carpool recommended!, Bit pricey (though worth it)

Birthday Bliss - Edit
I brought my daughter to the newly remodeled and opened vegan restaurant in the former native foods location in Costa Mesa: The Plot.
Read moreAs a 30 year vegan, I can say without hesitation, this place is fantastic. From the service (Michelle was great), to food, to the birthday treat, EVERYTHING WAS ON POINT AND AMAZING.
I ordered the Shepard’s pie, my daughter ordered the Yuzu Yam and my son in law had the biscuits and gravy. It was 5/5 all around. We especially liked the cucumber gazpacho with citrus oil on top. That would be a great addition to the menu. This is a very down to earth review written by me.

My new favorite restaurant!! - Edit
SO GOOD!!! Went with hubs for dinner a couple weeks ago and had the Shepard pie, he ordered the fried chickun and biscuits. Went back for weekend brunch yesterday and had the breakfast sando, husband had chickun and waffles. Everything we’ve tried so far has been amazing. So happy for another vegan restaurant option nearby. #Veganuary

Very good-going back doon - Edit
We went for Saturday brunch. The toast flight was really good- 3 slices of what seemed to be lightly fried brioche with different toppings like pesto, ricotta, greens, tomatoes. Really glad we ordered that. Also shared the chikn and waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked well and had good flavor and texture. I would have liked butter for the waffle, which the waitstaff said can be requested. Overall, really creative and flavorful takes on classics. Will be going back to try the dinner menu.
