Best vegan in OC

Honestly this is the very best vegan restaurant dining in Orange County. Upscale cuisine without the upscale smugness or upscale pricing. Simply outstanding food. It's our family favorite.

Pros: cuisine, service, causal setting

Very Nice!

Nice menu. Like that making familiar dishes but not with fake meat, very vegetable forward. We tried the cheesy truffle fries (perfectly crispy), Brussel sprouts (super yummy), eggplant and focaccia (surprisingly good), the sushi (wicked good) and the farm salad (tasty). We also had 2 desserts, the plot cake and the ube panna cotta. Both were truly delicious. We will be going back because we have to try an entree

Pros: Delicious, Vegetable forward, Not outrageous in price

Cons: Parking is HORRIBLE

Fantastic food

Great service and located in a very cool location. The best thing we had was the sushi. Also serves complimentary sparkling water which was great. Tacos were also fantastic.

Amazing!

Our server, Christian was super helpful and knowledgeable about all the dishes. I went with my non veg Aunt and we both loved everything we ordered which was the party melt with fries, carrots, special rice dish with jackfruit.

Amazing first visit

The food was so good I forgot to take pictures…🤦🏽‍♂️we got the sushi roll which was incredible and lettuce with lentil caviar to share which was amazing!! I got the meatless loaf which was good but got a bit dry towards the end. It comes with potatoes and green beans which were so good🔥🔥we also got the sweet potato gnocchi which knocked it out of the park! 👊🏽

They have lost the plot.

I want to be generous to an all vegan spot but honestly for positioning themselves as upscale restaurant, my meal was abysmal. I had the shepherds pie. It was a deconstructed affair and the presentation was nice. I would even say the 2 stars they get are for presentation and atmosphere. The potatoes in the shepherds pie tasted like last week’s rancid fryer oil. The concept was good but the dish missed by a mile. Gordon Ramsey I would have fired someone if he had been there that day. Shepherds pie flavor profile is so easy to perfect. How they screwed it up is beyond me. It was bad enough that I wouldn’t give it a second chance, unless they asked me personally.

Considerations, I was having a late lunch, so it was between their main service times. The restaurant was empty. So you could make a case that they were exhausted from lunch and prepping for dinner service. Neither excuse how bad the potatoes tasted. Even if that’s the case, everyone else I know who’s tried it has given lukewarm reports.

It’s not enough to just show up and be vegan in 2025. Our choices are plentiful. We need not accept being served mom’s leftovers and while told it’s Eleven Madison Park. #Veganuary

Pros: Ambiance, Presentation of Food

Cons: The food, The value , The food

Great Appetizers

Came here w omnivores and we started with drinks and appetizers. Everything was great and the kitchen even sent us some samples of a delicious new bean dish they were working on. We ordered entrees and they were good but not as good as the appetizers we started with. Might just go tapas style next time and max out on appetizers. #Veganuary

Pros: Fireside outdoor tables and blankets. , Great mocktails, Superb appetizers

Amazing food!

Who says vegans cannot enjoy fine dining? Great vinyl played in the back of this unique an intimate restaurant. Extremely attentive and personalised service. We have never had an average experience here.
Fair warning about the parking, which is free, though; and the prices that reflect the quality of the food.
Definitely a special place! #Veganuary

Pros: Quality food, Astounding service, Spun a DJ Shadow vinyl disc when there last

Cons: Parking, Finding a place to park while waiting for Lyft, Did I mention parking?

So good!

The ambiance and creativity of the dishes were the biggest standouts! Some of the food (the gravy and fries) was a tad too salty, but that’s what usually happens at restaurants. I loved the potato and kraut the most! I would definitely come here again. The dishes are unlike anything I’ve heard of before. And the wait staff is so kind!

Pros: Creativity , Ambiance, Service

Cons: Some foods were a tad too salty

Delicious and zero waste

Random vegan spot in Costa Mesa. They have a nice unique indoor and outdoor space. They have a limited weekend brunch menu, so we didn’t get to try a lot of the dishes that people reviewed on here previously.

We did try the patty melt and the lions mane Benedict. The patty melt had a homemade lentil and rice patty with onion jam that was really yummy. The bread was dense and chewy and delicious. Supposedly it had kimchi aioli but I didn’t taste that at all. The beet dipping sauce that came with the fries was a bit too sweet. The lions mane benny had a great hollandaise sauce and tomato jam, but the lions mane didn’t add much. No texture or flavor to the mushroom, unfortunately. Overall quite yummy and filling.

Pros: All vegan, Zero waste, Outdoor fire pits and blankets

Cons: Pricy

Amazing

Great experience, got a ton of dishes to share, including tofu chicken and biscuits, cheesy fries, salad and soup, sushi roll and Korean bbq. Everything was absolutely amazing. So nice to go somewhere stress free knowing there are plenty of options.

The Plot is Fantastic

My husband and I went to The Plot for an early dinner for my birthday. It was fantastic. I had a shepherds pie made with lentils and my husband had biscuits and gravy. Both of these dishes we loved when we were non vegans and they were both delicious. My dessert was free for my birthday. Our waitress was so nice. It isn't a very big restaurant but they do take reservations. They have brunch on the weekends and reservations are a must. The parking can be a challenge as there are many restaurants and shops in this location. I am looking forward to going back.

My first visit

I give the 3 stars just for the service
The good look great on the menu.
On the plate it's bland and uninspiring.
I don't know where the award came from. Very deceiving. I feel that I was tricked
And I read great reviews but, I guess that my taste is different. Like to support vegan restaurants , but honesty is important for me .

Likewise dude. I see people raving about this place. My experience was really unfortunate. I was hopeful that it would be good, but being priced right around Pura Vita or Cross Roads, it comes nowhere near the quality or presentation.

One of my favorite places to go when in the area.

Pics are of biscuits and gravy with chikn and a tomato dish. Everything I've ever tried has been delicious. The biscuits and gravy with chikn is my go-to, though.

Amazing service, was expecting more food-wise

As the title states, service is top tear. Very friendly people and happy to help you decide what to order. I got the fall special Brussels sprouts and the biscuits and gravy. Brussels sprouts were on point, crispy and delicious however a bit greasy.

The biscuits and gravy I found a bit disappointing. The “chicken” is very reminiscent to just deep fried tofu. The biscuit was delicious but drowning in the very salty gravy. I looove salt but it was a bit too salty for me.

I want to love this place, and I will be back to try a salad. However I just don’t think their mains are my taste.

Hip all-vegan restaurant with patio seating and good variety

Excellent vegan food with a variety of flavors and ingredients - they have a sushi roll, a shepherd's pie, a carrotfish-and-chips, a meatloaf. I brought a group of non-vegans along with me - they loved it too.

My absolute favorite was the polenta and chorizö with charred broccolini - the chorizö was savory and spicy and pairs perfectly with the satisfying polenta. Roasted yuzu yam was a close second. The chronic roll and the shepherd's pie were also big hits. I wasn't a big fan of the carrotfish and chips - the beer batter is really nice but the "fish" didn't feel subtantial as a main, and the fries were a bit overdone.

Overall excellent, and I'll come back the next time I'm nearby. Parking can be challenging at the Camp but it's a very neat area with some funky shops and a little free library.

Pros: chorizö was spicy and amazing, chronic roll impressed my non-vegan friends, best shepherd's pie I've ever had

Cons: French fries were a bit overdone

The Plot - A delight to your senses

Aside from the amazing looking anti-mall location and the slow spinning fan when you walk in, or the greens and cloth napkins, the home made filtered sparkling water, or even that they are a Zero waste establishment… THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING! Seriously the Toast flight, or the Patty-melt and you have to get their version of animal fries… stellar! Lindsey was our server, extremely knowledgeable and suuuuuuper friendly!

Pros: Sparkling water, Patty Melt, Animal fries

Cons: It’s so darn far from where I live!, They don’t sell the beet katchup

Good food, nice space

Ate here for lunch. The lady who was our waitress was really nice, attentive, and knew the food well.

We got carrot tacos, banana blossom or banana peel tacos, the gyro bowl, hard kombucha, and sake cocktails.

The carrot tacos were by far the best dish we got. Super tasty, the batter on them was perfect … light n crispy… and the carrots were a really nice texture and had great flavor… imagine they were marinated in something for a while.

The other tacos were good, but not great. Tasted like a bean chili taco. And the gyro bowl was also enjoyable but not great.

The sake drinks were light and interesting. We really enjoyed them. Found the strawberry one to be more balanced than the matcha one, but both were really nice. The kombucha was really good. Oh and we got that japanese style lager… I loved it.

Definitely would go back here for the calm atmosphere, friendly service, carrot tacos, and great drinks.

All the food is made in house with love, you can just tell. I had sausage and biscuits and my partner had corned beet hash. We will work our way through the menu for sure.

Cons: Cold inside on a rainy day

Beautiful presentation & flavors, plant forward!

Absolutely incredible options here! All dishes are presented beautifully and there is great variety across the menu. They keep adding too, sushi and nigiri started recently! This is a great spot, on the pricier side but you won't find upscale creative options like this anywhere. Highly recommend the crab cake and roasted cabbage!
