Had the set meal with some soy based meat, lettuce and rice as well as the parfait. The meal was around AUD20 and parfait was ~AUD15. The meat was ok but a little too covered in sauce and sweet for my taste. Parfait was amazing (the ice cream was top notch).

Insane vegan meat - Edit
Definitely the best food I’ve had in Japan, might even go as far to say the best vegan meat I’ve ever had.. the set meal was incredible from the salad dressing to the perfect rice. Thank you!

The owner/chef is adorable, really friendly and welcoming. We had a really interesting set meal that had a great bamboo miso side dish, a hot silken tofu with chili miso sauce, sticky rice, mustard greens and tofu and miso soup. We also got fresh tempeh spring rolls and a Tacco rice bowl. All delicious 😋

One of the best meals in Japan - Edit
We showed up near close one evening and dined by ourselves. The owner works very hard and his passion shows. We were blown away by the food that night. It was such a comforting, hearty meal after so much walking all day. We came back the next day because we knew we wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about the meal. We were so happy to see the place busy for lunch. Highly recommend the obanzai and grilled meat sets. They’re both incredible. Going to miss this place so much!

One of my favorite meals in Japan - Edit
The yakiniku teishoku was insane!! Came with a really nice and simple wasabi dressed salad. The owner was super nice and even offered us hand warmers as we left.

After searching online through reviews my partner and I came across this place with amazing feedback. We decided to give it a go and we were not dissapointed in the least.
Read moreTucked away in a little street, we were welcomed in with a big smile. After much debate over what we were going to order, we made our decisions and admired the charm of the atmosphere.
When the food arrived, we did many little happy dances. All of our 3 orders were mind blowingly delicious, 10/10 highly recomend this place.
You will love the food, the venue and definitely the owner. He loves a laugh and that really set the atmosphere showing how much pride he puts into his work. I wish we found this place sooner.

I stopped here after visiting Kiyomizu-Dera, and I’m so glad I did. The owner, Ken, is an absolute sweetheart who enjoys a laugh. The food is so flavorful and you can tell it’s made with love and care. 10/10 recommend!!!

Very cute vegan cafe conveniently located 15 minutes from kiyumizu-dera. We tried the grilled meat set, rice with soy meat, and guacamole dishes and it was all delicious! The best food we have had in Japan!

This wonderful small restaurant was recommended to us by the vegan hosts where we are staying, and it was a fantastic recommendation.
Read moreThe owner is a friendly happy man, and loves and works by his printed motto of peace and laugh.
The first night I had the Vegan grilled meat set meal, which consisted of a salad with the grilled meat, which was slightly sweet and covered in sesame seeds. It is served with a soup, some pickled beans and a bowl of rice. My husband chose taco rice, which was a spicy minced soya, and salad and rice. It also came with the soup and beans.
For dessert I had a set soymilk, something like blancmange, with vegan cream, raspberry flakes and a mango sauce to pour over called Pudding
The second night I tried the vermicelli, with fried vegetables, again with a soup of ginger and shimeji mushrooms and the pickled beans. My husband had enjoyed his so much last night he he repeated his choice, and I again had Pudding.
We very much appreciated the guide to Japanese table manners in the back of the menu, and the wonderful owner was only to happy to help with pronunciation of the phrases. He was delighted that we attempted to say them, and even more pleased the second night. All in all, a wonderful place to go, and very highly recommended.
Advice would be to go early in the evening as it fills up fast and is only small. #Veganuary
Pros: Most wonderful owner, A variety of dishes to choose between , Traditional Japanese fare, entirely vegan
