Great cake! - Edit
My husband and I have visited several times over the past couple weeks. We've really enjoyed all the food we've tried, and the cakes are amazing. Hands down the best vegan cake I've had anywhere. Normally I tend to avoid gluten free cakes, as I often find them to be a bit dry and crumbly. Not a problem with the cakes here, so I've been able to enjoy their entire selection! The people that run the cafe are lovely and welcoming, so it's a pleasure to visit.

High quality food and nice location - Edit
I've been to Seeds for the Soul 4-5 times now and have enjoyed everything I've tried, including various of the toasties, wraps, sandwiches, chips and the full breakfast - One minor point is that I'd like it if ketchup, vinegar etc was provided with chips / breakfast and some form of spread or oil for the the toast
Read moreI've also sampled various cakes and smoothies - The oreo mint choc sundae I had recently was particularly superb!
The cafe is a really nice space and the owners always take time to ask if you enjoyed your food. Understandably, service can take longer when the cafe is busy as everything is made fresh, so try to leave plenty time if you are going at peak times.
Pros: Creative menu, Lots of choice, Lovely space
Cons: Quite expensive, Lack of condiments

An Edinburgh Gem! - Edit
This spot ticks all the boxes - flavoursome, tasty vegan food, a cosy, homely atmosphere with friendly service. It’s hard to pick a favourite meal however I would recommend trying the following : Vegan Thunder Smoothie (Krav Maca after that) the Full Vegan Breakfast (the vegan sausages are out of this world!) the Cauliflower ‘buffalo’ wings and if you’ve got a sweet tooth the carrot cake or sweet pancakes. I hear the coffee cake is also delicious so that’s next on my list.
Read moreI love that everything on their menu is fully vegan and they have gluten free options for some meals. They recently got a new oat milk, Minor Figures Oat Milk, which in my opinion is a so much smoother and creamier than any milk alternative I’ve tasted before.
This spot works for those colder days as it’s warm inside and the little fairy lights and comfy couch style seats near the back of the cafe make the cafe feel cosy. On the odd occasion that it’s warm in Edinburgh 😉 they open up the front door and back window and you can relax in a cool, breeezy space.
Seeds for the soul is a Edinburgh gem for sure!

Nice place, nice atmosphere, nice food - Edit
Went here for a spot of lunch - had a really nice Latte with oat milk, toasted sourdough bread sandwich which had avocado, ‘cheese’ and sundried tomatoes in plus a side of organic sweet potato fries. There were some amazing looking cakes as well but didn’t try.
Read moreOnly criticism was that food took a while to come out and we were ravenous! My friend is omnivore but he was also happy with food he had.
I would go back and would recommend.

Seeds for the Soul is an absolutely gorgeous vegan cafe in Edinburgh with friendly and helpful staff.
Read moreI tried the oat mocha and it could possibly have been the greatest mocha ever.
Their salad bowls are so delicious, I especially loved their seitan. And I also recommend the chips and garlic mayo ♡
I cannot wait to frequent this wonderful cafe and make my way through their chocolate creations drinks menu.

So disappointed - Edit
Very disappointed with this place. After seeing it come up time and time again on social media I was so excited to try it on my first day off.
Read moreWhen I arrived it was very busy which was great to see but there wasn't anyone really directing anyone and the place is quite small so there was abit of pushing and shoving going on to get to a seat.
Once seated we ordered a summer vibes smoothie, coffee and 2 bowls of their home cut chips.
Smoothie was very thick and the lentil soup could have done with putting some stock in it, had very little flavour.
The chips took about 20 minutes to arrive and when they did there was about 5 in each bowl and looked like they had been coated in oil before coming to the table :-| very disappointing.
We had originally came in for just a cake and coffee but thought we'd have something savoury first, but everything had just put us off so we just wanted to leave.
We awkwardly waited at the till with the staff looking at us before asking if we could pay. After paying I realised it was very expensive and we had been charged £26 for what we had! Luckily I checked just as I left, turns out we must of paid for someone else's order too!!
Eventually after waiting around we got our money back and left. What a distaster of a trip! Especially since we don't live in Edinburgh and had to travel miles to get here. Definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend.
Pros: Vegan
Cons: Small, Food took ages, Staff

hey stephen, bit of a poor review. it;s a shame its a new cafe open less than two weeks and they really really want to make people happy. My own experience was very different to yours, everyone give a bad review once and a while but i personally like to encourage people to improve and make vegan/vegetarian culture the norm. I hope you get a chance to go back again, this is someones business, the way they pay the rent, they need support from the vegan community. give it a another try.

Excellent new vegan cafe - Edit
Excellent new vegan cafe in Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh. Cosy with friendly staff and a great vegan menu. Pancakes for breakfast were the best I've had in a very long time. Presentation was great. Will definitely be back.
