We went there 3 times when it should have been open but it was always closed and Rasta was not there (the neighbour searched him but he wasn't there).

Yumm - Edit
Escaped the tourist traps and was glad I made a special trip here (because I eat a special diet)
Read moreTruth is the veggie mutton plate and barbecue soy curls plate were fantastic and full of flavor
Fresh, healthy, and tasty real food that left me feeling satisfied, vital, and strong
Wish that right now I was eating the very yummy and very huge plate of yams, potatoes, plantains, rice and peas, protein, and salad
The people there were welcoming and friendly, and helpful with recommending gluten free options on the menu
Picked up the goodness and headed right down to the beachside picnic tables for a picnic with a sweet view- perfect
Pros: Real food that’s really tasty , Affordable , Nice folks

Amazing food - Edit
We kind of strolled to this place by stopping by the distillery and then continuing on for Rasta. We arrive at kind of an odd time and were the only ones there. The guy was super nice and made our food right away. Such a neat little spot and worth the walk! Everyone we passed on our walk was very friendly.

We got a a giant takeaway container of food for $14. We had the barbecued soy curls & they were fantastic. We’ll go back again while we’re in Nassau because the food was delicious and very filling, at a very reasonable price.

loved it! - Edit
friendliest, most welcoming owner! we ate here several times while in Nassau - due to a lack of places in the area but also because the food tasted great and it was fantastic value!
Read moredishes I tried:
- bbq veggie chunks
- roasted veggie
- jerk chicken (very spicy!)
- curry chucks
- veggie chicken
portions are big! it’s a mixed box with the chosen main, salad, veggies, mac n cheese, sometimes plantain and a banana cake. usually 3 different options each day.
amazing value (10-15 dollars)!
recommended!
mind: he might run out of food earlier than 7pm! and he doesn’t always open before noon.
i wish he’d get rid of those poor birds in the cage though😡

Eat like you live on a Caribbean Island - Edit
Worth the walk / taxi ride from the cruise pier. When you travel you want to eat locally.
Read moreI brought the plate back on the ship with me and all of the crew asked me where I got it. The smells were making them very hungry. Not 100% sure of what it was but there were several different dishes on the plate and they were all fabulous. One vegan option to choose from but there was only one other option to eat that day. Be sure to leave a moment or two or three to get your food, he cooks some of it for each order. I think I saw a table outside but had my taxi driver wait for me.
Pros: Great Authentic Food , Price you cannot beat it , Big Portion
Cons: A little slow to get your food , A little out of the way from most main areas , No sit down dining maybe a table outside

Amazing Rastafarian spot owner by a truly kind soul - Edit
My husband and I had a stopover in Nassau on our way home from a beautiful week on Cat Island. We were starving and made our way to this place about 20 min before closing time. Our hopes were not very high on getting anything to eat let alone the best vegan Rasta food we've ever had. Anyway! The owner literally said 'I was just about to close up, but I have enough to make 2 vegan plates'. Talk about Divine Intervention!!!! It was so delicious, and he was so kind that I felt compelled to write this review. I saw a sign that he also offers vegan ice-cream- we ill def be back to eat here on our next Bahamian visit!!!! Note: I would have given 5 stars but Happy Cow reserves that rating for fully vegan establishments only.

Excellent food! - Edit
Rasta is about 1 mile from the downtown touristy area. Owner is really friendly and the food is made fresh. There are 2 options per day: one vegan and one fish. You get an entire plate - so much food! It's also inexpensive. Very much worth going off the beaten path to try.
