I love how this is located in haight and ashbury. The burgers are really good and the vibe inside is awesome! I love the mayo on the burgers because it tastes really light. The burger patties aren’t amazing and the best I’ve ever had, but still pretty good! They are a bit pricy like most vegan restaurants. Overall, worth it and will come again. They had a lot of options too.

The burgers are quite good and I like that they have so many options (types of patties and toppings) and are so customizable. Very happy that they have tempeh bacon as an option.

The fries are surprisingly bad, though. There's no excuse for mediocre fries these days. I love fries and these are bad enough that I no longer order them. The tater tots are a bit better but not amazing.
They have a good concept (much better than Veganburg in my opinion) and I hope they continue to expand.

Read moreI like all of their burgers, so pick any one that sounds good to you. Their non-burger entrees, such as the hot dogs and salads, are just OK, so we stick with the burgers. Fries and the dark chocolate PB cup shake are terrific. So the real questions are: how much are you willing to spend on fast food, how many calories can you allocate to an NLB meal, and how hungry are you?
The San Francisco location is under the Whole Foods. Go through the bar at the corner. Parking is easy and free in the Whole Foods garage.
It's a little disorienting when you arrive to NLB"s space. On the left is the takeout ordering and pickup stations. If you are eating-in, wait to be seated and order with the server. The facilities are roomy and clean, and you don't need a key for the bathroom. It's an easy detour from the 101 or 280, so I now stop every time I visit SF. I can't wait for the chain to expand to the South Bay!
They do have an app where you can earn loyalty credits. Given how often you're going to eat there, it's probably worth installing.

Deliciously tasty all vegan fast food. Burgers, franks, fries, sides, drinks, shakes. Not inexpensive, yet very filling. On street parking available, or shop the co-located Whole Foods Market upstairs & enjoy 2 hour free parking in their garage. Favorite - the Animal Burger, double decker decadence includes fries, choice of cheeses & add-ons. Easily a meal in itself, or enough to share. Also the bacon shrooms fries, on which I subbed oven baked sweet potatoe fries & Gouda cheese and Again, enough for a meal on its own, or to share. Amazing shakes, with soy or Coconut milk base, or a combo of the two. Very clean. Clean accessible bathrooms.

Read moreI ordered a burger made with the Beyond Meat patty accompanied by baked tater tots. The burger was solid and the tater tots were more delicious than I had expected. I was pretty impressed and would eat here more often than I do, but I only eat vegan junk food in moderation...but I would eat here a lot more if I could eat all the calories in the world and never gain weight, LOL!

Amazing shakes - Edit
All vegan burger eatery with shakes. I had the classic burger which was the perfect junk food burger. Ate with a side of oven baked crinkle fries. Had the chocolate pb cup shake and it was so so good. So thick that you could eat it with a spoon and they give you more than a cup worth by bringing over the container they made it in-I left so full and happy.

Got the signature burger and the chili cheese fries and they slapped me in the face. Then they went back in time and slapped me in the face in the past. Still recovering. Delicious. Give it a try! I can’t wait to come back and try the rest.

I ordered a burger made with chia seeds and beans and it was amazing! It was on the smaller side which I liked but some people wanted bigger portions. The milkshake was also delicious.

Burgers were good, mine could have been bigger, but it actually ended up being exactly how much I wanted to eat because I split a large peanut butter cup shake with my husband. It was so good that I couldn’t be bothered to waste time taking a photo of it before it was entirely gone.
Read moreThey brought the shake out in a glass, and also the left over part of the shake that wouldn’t fit in the glass was brought out in the metal cup that they mix it up in with one of those spoons that attaches to the milkshake mixer machine...so it was like having two shakes. My husband ordered the animal, which is a double decker burger. It was entertaining to watch him try and eat that since there’s no way that one can eat that tall of a sandwich with any sort of dignity/table manners.
The restaurant is attached to a Whole Foods, but it’s secluded from the store.

Amazing place with delicious food. It‘s located in a supermarket (downstairs) and you don‘t need to book a table because it‘s like a McDonalds regarding the seating situation. Prices are fair and staff are very friendly and helpful.

The service was great and the staff were all very friendly. They checked to make sure I understood the concept of plant based food in case I was a lost carnivore. I like that they have both "meaty" style burgers and quinoa/black bean/mushroom types of burgers. The loaded fries are big and tasty!

Plant Based Fast Food in SF! - Edit
Next Level Burger fulfills a niche of fast casual plant based food that SF has been sorely missing. The comfort food they serve hits the spot. I had the SoCal Burger and Chili Cheese Fries and my wife had the BBQ Bleu. Excellent! I look forward to coming back and trying the hot dogs and ice cream.

Hit this place up on opening day. Been to the next level in concord so we knew what it was about. After seeing the animal posted on line I had to go for it. That’s a lot of food😜 I did eat it all. Very messy and tasty. Great food selections here.
