Delicious vegan food - Edit
We loved every single food we ordered! Very unique vegan menue and great taste. Best vegan Bitterballen we had during our stay in Holland. Staff was very friendly and we were sitting outside very nicely and warm with a great view on the market place. Highly recommended if in Haarlem!

Of course there aren't a lot of vegan places in Haarlem, but with the proximity to Amsterdam people can easily find better food - and at cheaper prices.

Quite pricy for what they have. The dessert was really good though!

Fijne plek in het centrum om vegan te eten. Niet heel veel keuze op t menu, maar dat maakt t ook makkelijker kiezen ;-)
Read moreWij hadden de no salmon tartar vooraf, en ik had de sweet chili chick als hoofdgerecht. De 'kip' en de sweet chili dressing was heerlijk, heel zacht. De no salmon tartar was erg klein voor de gevraagde prijs. De speculoos cheesecake tot slot was heel erg lekker.
We zaten op het terras, en dat was qua weer prima, maar ik weet niet hoe t in de herfst/winter gaat, want binnen is bijna geen zitplek. De wc was erg klein en niet erg schoon. Bediening was over het algemeen vriendelijk. Omdat het Haarlem Jazz was, was t erg druk en liep het soms wat chaotisch in de bediening, maar dat was begrijpelijk.

Really excited to go, but left disappointed. Food was okay, but it’s the experience and service that lacked. The waiter looked stressed out and they got our order wrong (even after repeating the order back to us), people that sat down after us were served before we even ordered drinks.

First big downside: they have so many options, you hardly can decide ^^ So we came here twice because we couldn't try enough the first time.
Read moreEach time we had the bitterballen, which were soooo good. Also the no-salmon tartar tasted really authentic and had a really nice texture. The burgers are great, just as the rice dishes (best choice though: the Jackfruit Rendang!!). But the two best things truly are the loaded fries with rendang and the truffles fries 🤤🤤🤤
Oh and not to forget about the cheese plate - I never tasted vegan cheese that was so perfect in texture and in taste.
Come here you won't regret it!

The menu wasn't as diverse as I anticipated (e.g no pizza or fish & chips) but the available dishes were very nice. I had an indonesian style rice dish with jackfruit and peanut-sauce, very fancy! Sitting outside on a warm summer evening was a pleasant experience as well. The portion size could've been larger though...

Positive: I liked the food. Although a bit on the expensive side (but it is a touristic hotspot and near the market). I had the 'shrimps in 'oystersauce' and on another occasion the royale burger with cheese (both 16,95). As appetizer bitterballen (6,95).

But ...
I was extremely disappointed to see several terrace heaters, with petrol, burning on the terrace. In the middle of Summer!! It was 19-20 degrees and a lovely Summer evening!! (Even in Winter I think these things are horrible). I mean, who cares about the climate anyway 😞 . In a vegan restaurant no less ...
I made a remark about it, and the heater closest to me was turned down a little bit.
Just remove these polluting monsters!
I further wanted to inquire about the blankets on the chairs, as I suspect they may contain wool? but didn't bother anymore as they already seemed annoyed by my remark about the heaters.
Service was mixed, friendly, but also a bit witty. And their enthusiasm seemed to have dropped after my remark about the heaters.
Very spacious terrace, but very limited seating inside. Not accessible, steps. And the toilet is so small one can hardly turn around in it.

Haarlem goes vegan - Edit
De vegan rendang is echt een aanrader! Burger met truffelmayo frites en chili chicken geprobeerd en die waren ook top. Gezellig terras en lief personeel. Gerechten mogen van mij alleen wat meer vegan uitstralen. Bijvoorbeeld door het gerecht om een bepaalde groente heen te bouwen in plaats van de vegan versie van bekende vleesgerechten te serveren. Dit is wel top voor nieuwe vegans of twijfelaars!

This place had been going to open on 16th March 2020, then lockdown was announced! The owner reminded us a bit of Eric from Happy Cow! Excellent food and friendly, professional service. Menu changes and so wasn’t printed in English but he described it all to us😄 The cheeseboard (dessert) was probably my partner’s highlight of our whole week in the Netherlands! Go there! You won’t regret it!!

Vegan heaven! - Edit
Right next to the Grote Markt, you can find a fully plant-based restaurant. The restaurant is located in a very touristy place, so, even though it is pricey, I do understand the reason for it. The staff was super nice and the food just tasted unbelievable amazing. They always have special offers and a menu that is offering snacks such as cheese plates, carpaccio or salmon tatar.. they offer goat salad, burgers, Thai woks with shrimps and everything you need. Definitely worth to visit!

I had to ask twice if everything was vegan because it was hard to believe. The food is absolutely amazing and a good portion. Fast service and nice atmosphere. I only wish they had more options of drinks, but I guess you can't have it all 😅

Sort of a typical Dutch bar with the local version of pub food, but totally vegan. I had a pizza that it turned out they don't make themselves but have delivered from around the corner... My dining partner had a truffle burger that was quite nice but didn't have a lot of truffle taste.

We ordered the Thai wok dishes, the 2 dishes were almost identical, and surely not from the Thai cuisine, I would say Chinese is more accurate (to be honest was still tasty)
Read moreI tried to order a non alcoholic drink and they were not even on the menu. At start she tried to convince me to order a non-alcoholic cocktails or bier. I ended up with limonade that tasted as water with some syrup.
