We went there and were really hungry. Nobody told us that we have to wait for more than one hour for 3 normal kinds of maki (nothing special). The restaurant was not even extreme full, it was normally filled. We would not go there again.

TONS of options at this place - so much more than just your usual avocado roll! Came here for dinner and had the miso soup (roommate had kimchi miso and she really liked it), followed by two rolls (big spicy and the big vegan, I believe). Each were tasty, though the “spicy” one wasn’t at all spicy, which didn’t bother me as much as my roommate. Either way, the rolls were quite good and it was nice to have such fun, unique options!

We said we were debating another roll but the woman said the kitchen would be closing soon so we needed to order now (though they close at 10???). We ended up not ordering one, but later around 9:20 she asked if we wanted another roll, and the folks next to us were able to order another round. So just be aware that if you arrive within the final hour, ordering might be different!

I definitely had the best vegan sushi at maki maki! It’s only 4 stars cause we had to wait 1,5 hours for the food but at the end it was totally worth waiting so long! Will come back soon!

The food there is really of a high quality and very very tasty. They have a lot of different dishes to choose from which can be quite overwhelming. The staff is really nice and the place is good to find. Pricing is reasonable. The ac is a bit cold and it takes a while until you get your food. But i can definitely recommend this place.

Man, this was some ace sushi. It wasn't _the_best vegan sushi I've ever had (that award goes to Shojin in Los Angeles) but it was definitely the second best! Interesting, varied, tasty, it was super tasty. I took a (non-veg) friend here and she was super impressed by how good it was, and couldn't stop talking about it the next day. It's really slow (they are very clear about this, both on the menu and then the waiter warns you) as we were there during prime time and there was only so much they could make on the spot (as everything was clearly made on the spot). We followed their advice and got one normal and one fancy bento, which along with some edamame set us back about 50 euros, but it was totally worth it. There's a reason why it's the top rated place in cologne, if you don't mind spending a bit more, you should definitely hit it up.

I'm so happy now after a great vegan sushi meal. I started with a Kimchi Miso Soup. Wow, very special and tasty. Then we shared to mixed plates, because it was so difficult to choose a meal. Everything sounds so good and we saw so many interesting meals of other guests surround us. Very fresh and fancy. This food makes me really happy. The restaurant is bright and beautiful, the service is friendly and quick. They offer the wonderful St. Leonhard Water gor a very good Prize. The food isn't cheap, but I think for the good the prizes are fair. I will come back soon, I'm already addicted!

I was there several times in the last both years.
The menu changed, but the food is still good.
The service not, you have to wait sometimes 2 hours for your dinner, sometimes the crew said, oh, we want to close soon ( 9.p.m), and you cannot order anymore.
So, instead I like the food, it is expensive and if the service stay so bad, I won’t eat there again.... unfortunately!
Pros: fresh and healthy, big menue , beautiful place

Read moreEinige Gericht sind etwas teurer, wenn man nicht die ausgefallensten Varianten nimmt, kann man aber auch für normale Preise satt werden. Ein Avocado Maki kostet dort genauso viel wie überall anders meiner Erfahrung nach auch.

Small and clearly popular, they graciously installed me at the sushi bar as all tables were occupied or reserved. The food was delicious!! I had a sampling of maki as I could not decide. Loved them all but it is the "tuna" tempeh that is still making my mouth water!

We had the mixed platter of sushi, to try different kinds of sushi. The absolute best was the sushi with the mock tuna, which tasted like it contained actual tuna. The atmosphere, as well as the personal, were very nice. I would love to eat here again when I will visit Cologne again. Absolutely the best (vegan) sushi I ever had

The Maki Maki offers a wide range of vegan sushi and doesnt shy away from experimenting. The restaurant itself is very atmospheric, they have seating option on two levels and outside. Beside maki and nigiri rolls they also serve kimchi, different kind of soups and even desserts.

Fantastic restaurant with a lot of dishes to choose from! Absolutely loved the "Edamame" and the "Yakitofi Spieße", as well as the "No more Bacon for Big Daddy"! Easy to reach from Barbarossaplatz and Poststraße, not too expensive and even your non-veggie friends will most likely love it (as did mine!)

Exquisite sushi with a lot of options to choose from. If you're looking for interpretations of more traditional sushi, then this is definitely the place. They offer some variations that are a bit more unusual, but nothing too fancy.

MakiMaki is by far the best vegan sushi restaurant in the state and definitely a must if you happen to be in Cologne.

Friendly atmosphere, bright, simple and open interior design. Close to subway stop "Poststraße" which two stops away from Neumarkt and four from Central Train Station in a non-posh part of town. Young crowd. Food is excellent — as everybody else sez — but it is also expensive (for Germans), so be warned. Not too many seats so better reserve a table.
