Delicious cake and juices! - Edit
The fresh juices were delicious and we had a really nice matcha cheesecake. The shop is really cute and would be a nice place to chill for a while. There was only one cake on offer though so you had to have whatever the cake was that day, which was delicious. But more options would be good.

Cons: Caged bird - this seemed so wrong for a vegan shop, Tricky to find, Limited optiond

tiny cafe with friendly staff - Edit
Everything is super delicious but not too expensive. Hard to find, you have to use the stairs in a hidden entrance.

Wired - Edit
It is in 2floor and in some home, little spooky and hard to find. No sign outside. It doesn't look like a backer at all. But they are new i think. A dog in their apartment tried to attack my son. You can get the feeling of how the local lives and how a home looks like. So for adventure i would do it. Food was ok

Hello!
Read moreSorry for you experience at Lá. From what I remembered you came to our place when it was already dark outside and really near closing time to get some take-away, but the light of the building wasn't on (it wasn't control by us) so I think that's why you find our place hard and a little spooky. For us Hanoians it's a natural and interesting thing to come in small alleys or up the old apartment buildings because it's how locals do it, but I do understand your point :)
To answer you and to warn people in advance, we have a very hyper pup at our cafe, he is a part of our family. He barks at strangers especially kids as dogs do, and play-bites when he gets excited (he gets time-out when he goes overboard and annoys our customers too much), but he never intentionally "attack" anyone. When you let him sniff you for a bit he will get friendly :)
I hope you can come back to our cafe someday in daytime to fully experience what we have to offer! If not, thank you for the feedback as well :)

Delicious! - Edit
My girlfriend and I went on the hunt for this hidden gem. Unfortunately, it is currently under reservation (as of 19/08/2017!), though I don't know how long for. Anyway, she was more than happy to serve us for take out so we bought two banana and walnut muffins and 2 cinamon swirls; heavenly!

My favourite cafe in Hanoi. - Edit
Such a cool little place hidden away in Hanoi. I come here pretty much every day for a coconut coffee and one of the daily baked desserts. Everything is always delicious and the atmosphere is great. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable.

La Vegan Cafe - Edit
Another great vegan place. After dining in a vegan restaurants in Ha Noi, pop along to 15 Ngo 50 Dao Duy Tu also called food street in the old quarter. This quaint upstairs place serves freshly baked banana cake to order took ten minutes. we had their freshly made mango and avocado popsicles and freshly made passion fruit juice. came to a very modest 80,000d ($3.50). Vegan and veggies alike please support these ethical vegan eateries. 100% vegan. The owner also makes cakes and cookies given two days notice prices range from 150.000d to 300.000d. Try for ur next party.

pretty place - Edit
Very good hot beverage for a reasonable price in an artsy cafe, well-decorated.

Not open? - Edit
We came here twice during reasonable opening hours but the doors were locked and no one was there. Disappointed that we couldn't go here so it would be a good idea to call in advance if possible.

Hello, I am La Studio's owner :) Sorry for your experience! I normally open from 10 to 7, but in the morning I tend to be in the kitchen baking things up, and since I am the only one here the cafe looks closed but its not :). The door is not locked but only closed so our puppy won't get outside. If you still want to visit us, next time you can either call me in advance or just open the door and say hello loudly so I know that there are customers :P Hope to see you sometime. Cheers!

See Hanoi from a new perspective - Edit
We've been here a couple of times, and have to say, there's really not much to fault them on. The cafe is located on the first floor of a standard Vietnamese block of flats, the kind of place you see from the street and never really have a chance to go into. Pot plants and vines cover the walls, and the fairly depressing bird cages hang from the ceiling. There's a line of stools where you can sit and look over the balcony into the alley below, a lovely snapshot of Old Quarter life. Our food there has been universally good, a tasty pumpkin tart, fairly healthy granola with frozen banana, and creme brulee. Also a couple of decent biscuits. The food is, mercifully, only moderately sweet (at least compared to most stuff in Vietnam), as are the drinks. You can taste exactly what you are eating and drinking, and don't feel an urge to brush your teeth afterwards. The place is run by young, friendly Vietnamese creatives, all with good English; the kind of people you'd like to be friends with. I can't speak for the gallery bit, as we've taken the balcony on both occasions we've been there. Everything is cheap, and very good value for money. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys coffee, cakes and atmosphere.

Tiny dessert portion, caged birds. - Edit
The place carried an artsy atmosphere with the paintings on the wall, however it was truly uncomfortable sitting on the floor.
Read moreI find it odd that a vegan cafe would hang cages with chirping birds trapped in them, just to have the 'zen' audio effect.
The dessert of the day was small but quite yummy. Overall, it was OK but I'll not return.
Pros: Cheap price, OK and cheap coffee, Friendly owner
Cons: Small portion, Uncomfortable seating (on the floor)

Cute and quirky - Edit
Right in the Old Town, La Studio is a tiny art gallery/vegan cafe upstairs. We ordered the cupcake (15k), cheesecake (30k), coconut lemonade and mango smoothie. All yummy and not that sweet. A little sad to see the owner keeping birds in small cages though!

Mega fab! - Edit
Went here for breakfast & the food was all vegan and super scrummy! Enjoyed granola & organic fresh home made soy milk, along with an iced peach tea & cookies. Also snapped myself up a pretty little print from the art section as everything was crazy cheap. Would recommend time & time again!

Heaven is a place on earth, in Hanoi. - Edit
Stop right there ladies and gentleman. You've found it.
Read moreYou've found the quirky little vegan bakery that makes you want to sell your house, move to Hanoi and buy infinite amounts of Baked goods with your savings.
The bakery is a little hard to find, but just head down the alley until you see a see-through sign for La Studio, Vegan Bakery. Head up the dingy stairs of death and you will find the bakery. It doesn't look like a bakery however, it looks more like someones lounge room.
The bakery is run and owned by one lady, and she is super friendly and helpful. She hands you the cute hand-written menu as you sit on the wooden floors cross legged.
Granola, Soy coffees, Vietnamese vegan coffees, creme brulees, donuts, banana bread and much much more.
The food is in very small portions, but super super super delicious.
We had a banana smoothie, creme brulee, vietnamese coffee with condensed soy milk and home made granola. All 8+ out of ten at least.
Get here. Get here fast. Get here and eat. Fast. Get.
Pros: Awesome food, Food I haven't had in years! , Great atmosphere and vibe
Cons: Only con is that there are birds in cages just out

Great place for a rest - Edit
Cute art space including a cafe with a small, completely vegan menu of baked sweets and drinks. We sat on the floor at a makeshift table. The lime slushy with mint and coconut was delicious and refreshing. The mango tart was light, creamy, fruity and not too sweet. The banana bread was also not too sweet and was fresh with the occasional surprise chocolate chip. Crème brûlée was creamy with custard and a glassy coating just the right thickness. Smoothies were thick, iced and not too sweet.

Nice tiny vegan bakery - Edit
I really enjoyed the banana bread, lime smoothie with coconut milk, and the mango popsicles. The owner is friendly, and the paintings are nice. It's a bit hard to find like another reviewer has pointed out, but with determination you will see the transparent sign...

art student vibe - Edit
Very difficult to find, keep going to the end of the road but do not go into the next street, keep looking up for the transparent sign (very difficult to spot!) small room filled with art. Has quite an unofficial feel to it, kind of just imposing on an art students space so if you like that kind of intimacy this place is for you. Definitely quirky. We ordered chocolate donuts which were small portions but very nice. Artists are milling about while you eat, taking photos, playing music, you may feel slightly out of place unless you're one yourself!
