Very recommended! - Edit
Food at Chickpea is always a hit! I already was a huge supporter of the Chickpea restaurant in Da Nang, so I couldn't skip this one. Lovely garden and terrace!

Best vegan and cooking class in Vietnam - Edit
During our recent trip to Vietnam, we had the pleasure of dining at Chickpea Eatery in Hoi An, where we enjoyed exceptional vegan dishes such as bánh xèo, vegan bean and cheese quesadilla, and the vegan tempeh bánh mì sandwich.
Read moreThe following day, we participated in their vegan cooking class, which turned out to be an unforgettable experience which we absolutely loved it.
Ha, our instructor, was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience fun and hands-on. The staff were just as friendly and helpful.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to learn Vietnamese vegan cooking.
Highly recommended! Top experience in Vietnam!!!
Pros: Banh xeo, Quesadillas, Tempeh sandwich

Peaceful and inviting place down an alleyway - Edit
This place is located down an alleyway. When walking along this alleyway, it seems like you've gone down the wrong path, but then suddenly you find what you're looking for, an inviting place with windchimes, very peaceful and secluded, a vegan bubble. Whenever I went here, it was busy not only with people eating but also because of the cooking classes held here. The food is very good and seems similar to the food at other Chickpea Eateries eg the one in Da Nang.

Great option in Hội An old town area - Edit
Tucked away up an alley, Chickpea has a cozy, clean patio (which, depending when you're there, you might be sharing with a cooking class). A few vegan versions of local specialties are on the menu, along with more typical Vietnamese chay dashes, plus (probably unnecessarily) some Western items. Some dishes better than others; for example, the banana flower salad is recommended, while I found their cao lầu (a regional noodle dish of Hội An) to be just okay. Service is friendly and efficient.

vegan cooking class - Edit
The vegan cooking class was absolutely fantastic! Nora is an amazing person and teacher who truly made the experience unforgettable. Also the whole team from chickpea eatery is great. We started with a wonderful visit to the local market, which was so fascinating and informative. We learned a lot about the fresh ingredients and local products, which added even more excitement to the whole experience. The dishes chosen for the cooking session were incredibly delicious and cooking together was so much fun, and the time flew by far too quickly! We genuinely enjoyed every moment and will definitely take this class again when we return to Hoi An.

Incredible vegan cooking class - Edit
We had the most amazing (and delicious) time at the Chickpea Eatery vegan cooking class!!! It started with a wonderful market tour where we were given a lot of context on how the local community lives, and got to sample all these interesting fruits and snacks. Then, we embarked on our cooking adventure, making 3/4 Vietnamese dishes local to this region. They were all extremely delicious and so fun to make! The instructor was the sweetest, and the background information and instruction provided were top notch. This was one of our favorite things we did in all of Vietnam. Highly, highly recommend!!

100% plant-based perfection - Edit
A vegan gem in Hoi An! Chickpea Eatery’s award-winning burgers (PETA Asia-approved!) and fresh Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls and phở are bursting with flavor. Loved the cozy vibe and friendly staff. Bonus: They offer vegan cooking classes in Hoi An! Perfect for plant-based foodies or anyone craving creative, guilt-free meals. Don’t miss the “peaceful cuisine” philosophy—it shines in every bite.

Exceptional - Edit
Best restaurant on our trip so far and by far the best in Vietnam. It’s a definite must visit on your trip to Hoi An. We wish we had stayed in this town to come here more then once! We would have also signed up for the the cooking course. There was one going on while we ate here. And the food looked so good and the instruction was fun and informative. We had the Banana Flower Salad (so flavourful), Cao Lău, Vegan Beef Sandwich, and Tempah Banh Mi. All are recommended!!

Wonderful food and really great cooking class - Edit
We went for lunch and had the pancakes, which were delicious. We also had a great time in the cooking class. The tour of the market was great as Ha identified so many vegan foods that we wouldn't have been able to find ourselves. The class itself was fun but also informative. Would highly recommend.

Amazing Cooking Class - Edit
I absolutely loved the cooking class. It was great to not have to worry about any cross contamination. Hà was so friendly and got us so many fruits and snacks to try when we visited the market. I learnt a lot, it wasn’t just cooking- I learnt more about how to balance flavours too. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Hoi An!!
