Cute relaxed cafe - Edit
Nice little coffee shop with relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Had coffee, a spelt and quinoa croissant, and a cinnamon bun. All were delicious! Lots of other baked goods that looked delicious. Good amount of seating

It's really cute in here. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The coffee is great and there is a big choice of cakes. They do breakfast and lunch too but I haven't tried yet. Cake was delicious though. Fully vegan.

Als wir zu Besuch in Edinburgh waren, habe ich das Café durch Happy Cow entdeckt. Es war ein super leckeres Erlebnis :p Alles dort wird ohne tierische Produkte zubereitet und die Vielfalt reicht von Broten über Porridge bis hin zu süßen Leckereien! Auch die Getränke werden mit pflanzlicher Milch zubereitet und schmecken super gut ! Wir selbst haben Smoothie, Cafè und hot chocolate probiert und können es mit gutem Herzen weiterempfehlen!(:

Came here after reading HappyCow reviews. Food was comforting and lovely warm atmosphere. When we arrived the lovely guy on the till was clearly newly employed and did his best. The person training him made a bit of a deal out of us wanting to have a coffee while we waited for a table. We wanted to add avocado to our breakfast and they got quite flustered asking how much I wanted and couldn’t really work out what I meant. Then I asked for one of the sides and because they didn’t have a button on the till for it she told me no. Also, may need to clean their coffee filter as the coffee crema was split and bitty. Never seen that before! Food was fine but heavy fake-meat based, would be nice to see more veggies on a veggie breakfast. New guy was great. Great vegan haggis. Toilet was also lovely and very clean.

Found this with my omni friends as it said ‘vegan options’ inside. Little did we know when we went in that it has recently turned fully vegan! Brilliant! Delicious full English and French toast. Their standard milk is oat milk so no extra charge for that (my personal preference). Plenty of fresh baked goods and lunch options too.

Was staying nearby and needed breakfast. Enjoyed a gorgeous scrambled tofu on sourdough bread, with additional potato scones on the side. All Yummy. Plus a pot of tea. Too early for cake but it all looked amazing. Did buy a cinamon swirl for later though and it was also lovely. Friendly lovely staff. Free WiFi.

After 31 years as a veggie I became vegan a month ago and am exploring places to eat. Chapter One is nice and homely, staff are friendly and food is wholesome.

Chapter One Coffee is now totally vegan and I couldn't be happier. They have a great breakfast menu, including filled rolls, a vegan twist on the full Scottish and porridge bowls. The French toast is particularly yummy!

Nice place close to Haymarket - Edit
This is a nice coffee shop to hang out and have some vegan cake - they offer only espresso-based drinks (so no filter coffee) and the quality is alright, but not outstanding. The cakes are nice though and I liked the atmosphere. Probably the best choice for a coffee in the Haymarket area.
