Finally got to try the pasticciotto! It was incredible, still warm, with perfect consistency and a creamy filling. They have some other vegan pastries which I didn’t try. Quite expensive (3€) but it was worth the experience

Nice venue in the heart of Lecce, next to the main square. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. When I visited they had two types of pasticcioto and I tried both.

Greasy pastry and cold coffee - Edit
I came here mostly for coffee but ordered a vegano rustico as well. It took 25 minutes for the pastry to come out and when it did, it was so greasy I couldn’t eat it. I felt like someone wrapped a Daiya block of cheese with pastry dough and put it in the microwave.

I ordered a soy cappuccino and it came out cold.
The atmosphere is lively and fun, though; very authentic, local Italian spot.

Full vegan Lecce experience - Edit
Curious about the famous pasticciotto, we visited this café because they had a vegan version of it. It was very good, creamy with some chocolate, and a perfect combination with a cafè leccese. PS: it’s 1 euro cheaper if you have it as a take away.

Vegan Leccese Specialties - Edit
It has the typical Leccese specialties like Pasticciotto and the Rustico in Vegan! And of course some vegan gelati. The Fruttone as well is vegan. The food is good but I did not expect it to be that oily.

Fuimos a probar el pasticcioto vegano y fue un poco decepcionante. Lo tienen congelado, le dan un golpe de calor y te lo sirven hirviendo con la base quemada. De sabor no estaba mal. Pedimos café con leche de soja y nos cobraron un suplemento porque la leche era de soja... Eso está muy feo.

Ci sono stato poche volte, ma ci ritornerei volentieri. Ho provato il loro pasticciotto, è buono ma ahimè, oltre ad essere vegano è anche senza glutine. Il risultato è che si sbriciola troppo facilmente e mangiarlo diventa una mezza impresa.

Ho provato anche il rustico. Se deciderete di prenderlo, chiedere di non scaldarlo troppo perché altrimenti vi arriverà bollente e ci metterete un po' a finirlo. Niente di che.
Il fruttone invece è abbastanza buono, lo consiglio

Abbiamo assaggiato per la prima volta il fruttone, che dire, davvero buonissimo. Caffè leccese consigliato, fatto col latte di mandorle di loro produzione. Peccato che i pasticciotti vegani fossero finiti.

Both the pastry is typical for Lecce and an espresso over ice with almond milk. You need to order "café in ghiaccio con latte di mandorla"
Read moreThe coffee costs 2.50 and the pastry 2 Euro but if you get it for take away it seems to be just 1.50
The pastry also seems to be gluten free but I'm not completely sure.
Definitely stop buy while you are in Lecce
