Standout meal in Florence - Edit
Definitely our favourite meal and dining experience. The staff were super friendly and really took care of us with two tired kids. The food was so tasty and the chef came and spoke with us for a while too. Really recommend to anyone visiting Florence.

Best vegan food of our Italy trip - Edit
The food here wowed us - we were in Italy for 3 weeks and we found some incredible vegan food, but this was our favorite. We went 2 nights in a row because it was so delicious. Italian food with some Indian fusion. We will dream of the food here for years to come and hope to return to Europe soon - we would add a Florence stop just to eat here!

INCREDIBLE you have to visit - Edit
Honestly I would go back to Florence just to eat here again. We ordered about 5 main dishes (because my bf eats a lot) and I’m so glad we did because each one was insanely good.
Read moreThe whole menu looked so good and we would have loved to have tried it all.
They also do this great thing where you can try 2/3 dishes as one main split into three which is just great. Portions are massive, food is beyond impressive, staff are lovely and the prices are totally reasonable.
Do not miss this place. Best vegan Italian food I’ve ever eaten and my Italian bf said the same which is high praise!
Pros: Everything. Do not miss this place.
Cons: Nothing

Delicious vegan veggie restaurant in Florence. Super cute courtyard and good for lunch vibes I’d say. We went for dinner which was still nice.

Our ‘go to’ place while visiting Florence - Edit
Our hotel in Florence was a few minutes walk from Brac and we visited five times in all during our four-day stay! We walked right past it the first time as there is absolutely no sign to indicate that it’s a restaurant. Look for the doorway with foliage around the top, and possibly twinkly lights switched on, and the bookshop window next to that. You’ve found the right place!
Read moreWe were hoping for lunch on the day of our arrival but the kitchen was already closed. However they have a takeaway counter in the corner of the bookshop and we were able to sit at a small table there and choose from a selection of paninis, which were more like rustic rolls. They will heat these up in a small oven at the counter. The fillings were inventive and tasty and all but one of them were vegan. Fresh juice, smoothies and wine are available to drink and there are a few desserts on the counter too. We found it ideal for a light lunch and returned on a couple more occasions.
We had also booked a table for dinner later in our stay and we enjoyed the excellent food. Most dishes cost around 9-10 euros but they also have an unusual mixed plate priced at €18. At first we didn’t understand how this worked, but from observing other diners we realised that you were able to order a starter, a pasta dish and a ‘special’ from across the a la carte menu and you would be served smaller portions of each of these dishes on one plate. Once we tried it we thought this was a great idea and excellent value.
Each course has several vegan options available and there were some really interesting flavours. There is a small selection of desserts, of which one or two are vegan. We enjoyed our first dinner there so much that we returned on our final night as well.
Pros: Several vegan options, Tasty ‘paninis’ at takeaway counter
Cons: Small, gets booked up quickly. , No sign outside -easily missed

Super good - Edit
Brac is probably one of the best veg restaurants I have visited in Florence. Definitely make a reservation. It’s a super cute little bookstore/café and the restaurant is in the back. I recommend it for a nicer dinner. I got the seitan and it was the best I’ve ever had!

Perfect seitan - Edit
We had amazing lunch. The place itself is lovely. The list had lots of interesting vegan options, so it was really nice to be able to build a meal with three different components (salad, primo and secondo). Everything was good and the seitan was the best I've ever tried. Highly recommended!

Would 100% recommend! Food with soul from Florence!🤌🏻 - Edit
I found this place by selecting "highest rated" from the list and it was 100% a best pick!
Read moreI ordered mix of 3 dishes from the list for 18eur and didnt expect half as good as it was! Amazing ingredients, perfect flavours, best meal I had on trip to Italy!
Also the place is very cute, calm hidden gem, place to go to hide from crowded streets of Florence. It is clear that staff there is working with passion.
I recommend to make table reservation.
Pros: Lots of vegan option, Healty, clean & very good food, Cute alter place
Cons: Small space - make reservation

I had the combo plate with a starter, pasta, and main at 18 euros, it was a nice way to try multiple things. I rated this lower for two reasons, (1) the avocado had lots of dark spots underneath and tasted like old avocado and (2) while the seitan was excellent, it would benefit from an Italian sauce rather than a curry. The stuffed pasta as excellent, can't complain about that. Lastly, they have a 2 euros cover charge for water, which is a bit irritating to be charged for tap water.

Poor Service and flavor - Edit
Based on the reviews, I was very excited to dine here. Unfortunately, it fell very short of the expectations set.
Read moreWhen I arrived they said they didn’t have a table for me despite several tables being available and the server literally cleaning the two person table next to me. I waited for a while to finally order the riso to go based off the server’s recommendation. I was told to wait outside the restaurant right before a couple walked in and were sat at the vacant table I was standing at a minute before several minutes before they closed.
I finally received the meal: plain rice with some chopped vegetables (as if from a frozen stir fry mix) and seeds that wasn’t even filling.
Pros: At least eight labeled vegan options
Cons: Poor customer service, Bland food

Best Seitan - Edit
Came here one night while visiting Florence. Very cute library with a cafe attached. I had the seitan masala and it was probably the best seitan I have ever had. I have been vegan for 7 years so I have tasted a lot of seitan and while I haven’t had meat in all that time, the seitan tasted like a perfectly cooked steak. Great texture, great tang with the balsamic vinegar, and a perfect char that mimicked a well-grilled steak. 👌🏻

Der beste Seitan der Stadt! - Edit
