We almost didn’t eat at Bodhi during our short visit to Munich, but several people, both vegan and non-vegan, insisted that we eat there. They were right! The menu was more impressive in person for some reason. The food was delicious and filling, and the service was top notch. It was exciting to try veganized, traditional German foods. The soy steak and schnitzel were so good! We liked our food so much that we got burgers to go for breakfast the next morning. The jackfruit burger was perfect. The tofu burger was the only thing that was a little odd tasting. Also, we didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in. Overall, we would definitely eat there again.

Wide food options and tradition bavarian food in vegan form, but the staff really don't care about the customers!
Read moreWe waited for an hour and reminded our waiter twice that we were waiting for drinks! It was a very hot day and we were thirsty. The food came out before we got our drinks and we didn't get a really apology.
It is clearly understaffed and I'm sure they were tired and hot too, but there wasn't any attempt to ensure the customers were well hydrated or serve anything extra than the initial order.
It was great to go somewhere which had some bavarian options to try, but I wouldn't go again because of the poor service.
Pros: Knödle, and tempeh versions or traditional food, Good portion sizes, Great for meat eaters to try!

It’s great to have a nice vegan restaurant that focuses on traditional regional dishes. I think that overall, they do a very good job too! I had a Bodhi Pfanderl and Germknödel, the former of which I would highly recommend and the latter perhaps if you really want that dish, though I didn’t find it particularly impressive and would try another dessert next time.

Bodhi is one of a few restaurants that veganized traditional Bavarian dishes and it exceeded my expectations in all areas.

I ordered the Pfandrel, Kaisershwarn, and a beer. The Pfandrel steak was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, the Potatoes was gelatinous, and the beet and cabbage chutney was the perfect sweetness. I felt like the chutney made the dish. I didn’t care much for the potatoe’s texture and the amount of breading on the steak, but those are personal preferences. The dessert was light and sweet, though the compote was plain apple sauce.
Overall, I had a great experience and I’d love to return to try more.

I visited this restaurant twice, and will come back when I visit Munich next. The menu is completely vegan, and while they offer a great selection of starters, mains and desserts, holy cow is it ever hard to have one of each. The mains are substantial to say the least. The offerings for each course are really good, and they have a nice selection of beer and wine to compliment. They even have a neat selection of cocktails if you want to make an evening of it. The servers are very nice too.

I ordered three dishes, Chili Cheeze Nuggets, Tyrol's Schlutzkrapfen, and Kaiserschmarrn. All were fantastic and I'm a bit sad I'm only in Munich for one evening. I made a reservation a couple of hours before coming in and that was probably good because there were a lot of people there when I came.
