a place with history

The Heideruh has a lot of history (foundation was in 1926). Mainly it was used as a retreat for politically persecuted people. The Heideruh also professes to be anti-fascist and offers various (rather left-wing) organizations a place for meetings. But nowadays the focus is also on accommodating guests. The costs for the stay are really low in comparison.

For a few years now, the Heideruh has also been a certified Bett Bike hotel with bike storage, 1-night stays and much more.

Now the food! Cooked every day is breakfast, lunch and dinner. Attempts are made to make the food as sustainable as possible for the planet. Vegan food is available, when you order it. Also, staff eat in the same room as guests, which allows for a communal atmosphere.

The location is also beautifully situated. There are well-known hiking destinations nearby (Brunsberg, Hell Gorge).

Pros: not expensive, in a beautiful forest, community atmosphere
