Große vegane Auswahl

Es gibt eine große Auswahl an veganen Speisen, es lohnt sich den Teller mit 5 verschiedenen Gerichten zu nehmen. Es gibt eine Kartoffel-Fenchel-Suppe, diverse Hauptspeisen, die man kombinieren kann und zwei vegane Kuchen.

Okay food, but not great value and an absolute odyssey of trying to order.

To order a vegan lunch at Via Baltea I was passed from my waiter, who had minimal English, to the cook, who had good English but who passed me to another waiter for some reason, who had excellent English. This second waiter, though, didn't know which dishes were vegan and offered me vegetarian options instead, but then was corrected by the cook, who corrected her in English, but who wouldn't explain which dishes were vegan directly to me. This was confusing, awkward and I have no idea why it happened. Everyone was polite and friendly. Just very, very confused and confusing.

Neither my new waiter or the cook seemed to know how the menu worked, so the Italian-only waiter had to explain to the English-speaking waiter how it worked, who then struggled to explain it to me. There were set menu types (three plates at this price, four plates at that price, etc) but only some dishes applied to certain set menus, and some of the set menus didn't appear to have any vegan options at all. I eventually had no idea what was going on I'd have just left but was now so hungry I just asked for anything that was vegan at whatever was best value.

Eventually some decent food arrived, but the simplicity of the meals didn't match the sophisticated price. I stress there was nothing wrong with any of it, but I could have spent the same amount of time buying beans, rice, pasta and soup at the supermarket and cooked everything myself in the same time for half the cost.

The space seems like it could be very enjoyable and the meals heartening, but the service is just mind-blowingly confusing and the prices too high for the quality of food.

Pros: The food's fine. , The space seem like a nice place to hang out

Cons: Service was an absolute debacle, The menu system seems to confuse even the staff, The price is far too high for the food on offer
