Fine vegan dining - Edit
Only two meal courses to choose from that changes over time, but very cozy place and friendly staff. The food was tasty but also had some exotic tastes that some people may find a little too weird. Overall good experience and can be recommend. Very good desserts!!!!

Expensive, it's decent - Edit
Hard to find, the place is located above another vegan restaurant. We went in there first before realising we were in the wrong place. Many others seems to have done the same.
Read moreThe food is a pre-set three course or a two course (same menu regardless, but you choose either started or desert for the two course one). It seems like you need to book a table in advance but we managed to get a table due to many people not showing up for their reservations.
Food tasted good, starter was a cold soup (not my cup of tea), the main mushroom, sallad and a cake, for dessert rhubarb and crumbles with ice cream. Overall not too impressed.
The staff was super friendly tho!
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Hard to find, there's a side door, Disgusting toilet shared with another pub

Cute place great food - Edit
Delicious food, chose the 2 course menu with main and dessert. Got some bread with delicious spread before, and both dishes were serviced rapidly. Both were presented beautifully and tasted lovely. Super friendly service. Tapwater was also free, which I appreciate. Would like to visit again.

So so good - Edit
Urten features a fixed two or three course menu. I ordered the three-course menu and it was fantastic. Some of the best upscale vegan food I’ve ever had. It’s expensive, but for the quality of the food it’s worth it.

Nice location and home made food. The lasagna was banging! The main of the 3 course menu was a bit disappointing as it was just some veg, but everything else we liked. Service was nice, although at first we got turned away even though there were tables still.

Best vegan food in Copenhagen! - Edit
Urten is my favorite restaurant in Copenhagen. I’ve been there many times and the food and service is always amazing. They change the menu every month, so the food is seasonal. This is a must for every vegan (and non vegan) visiting Copenhagen!

Okay, not great - Edit
We went to Urten on the evening of the 24th.
Read moreThe food:
The sweet potato ravioli was nicely presented, but with simple flavours (a bit dull)
The other main dish was deep fried aubergine with potatoes and remoulade. The aubergine was very dry, not tasty and you could barely cut the edges. There was 5 tiny potatoes and almost more remoulade than aubergine and potato combined.
Mushroom cerviche was more onion than mushrooms
Blueberry tart was fresh, sweet and pastry in very good combination
The service:
Waiter was sweet, but not very service minded or attentive. He didn’t know much, neither of food or wine. The atmosphere around him was a bit chaotic even tho the place wasn’t full. We (and others) waited a long time for dessert and bill.
The hygiene:
The waiter didn’t sanitize his own hands, the menus, or basically anything between handing it out to different guest. In a time as now, this just needs to be in place.
We even saw the waiter pick up a piece of bread from the floor and put in on the table behind the cutting board, which the rest of the bread was being cut on.
Pros: Only vegan , Small cosy atmosphere
Cons: Hygiene issues , Service of staff , Food price for quality

Amazing food and super cosy place. - Edit
We had the Danish-inspired Christmas plates which was just divine. Tastes just like the traditional food an probably even better! Cozy small place in my favourite neighborhood of Copenhagen, great friendly service. A must!

A little but shiny gem - Edit
Tasty, colourful and varied vegan dishes in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Make sure to book a table since there aren't many. A narrow menu makes a 2- or 3-dish menu easier to choose. The chef even made up a gluten-free version of a mains, so there's a real willingness to please.

Solid place for 3-course meal - Edit
We’ve been here 3 or 4 times through the years now. Solid food food and a good deal on the 3-course meal compared to prices other places in Copenhagen and of course they’re fully vegan. They change their menu every month, so make sure to check their Facebook or instagram for updates.

A solid, quirky option in Copenhagen - Edit
We sat downstairs in the bar/restaurant below Urten. We actually ended up ordering off the downstairs menu but all veganized for us. This place is a little quirky in the Latin district and someone was smoking at front of the restaurant so didn’t like that. My dishes were better than my wife’s tortillas, but I really like their dedication to trying new vegan options and inventiveness of choices. Have an open mind and enjoy. Don’t go if you are stuffy and can’t go with the flow a little. All good, especially the food.

Difficult to find but worth it - Edit
We went here for dinner and it was so good. My husband and I loved the food. The servings are a bit large so if you don't eat a lot, you can easily split the three course meal. You don't have to get the three courses, we did one appetizer and two main dishes. Would definitely return.

Good place for a three course dinner - Edit
Its quite an old quirky place on the first floor. We were first seated in the back corner which is good if you are hiding from the police, but not very cosy for having dinner. Got transferred to a window seat which can only be recommended. The food was good, parsnip a bit undercooked, broccoli in the soup a bit overcooked, and chocolate dessert needed a bit of crunch. Overall a good experience, but I would love to see Urten moving even more in solid gastronomical direction. Still a bit of way to go, but the base is there.

The food was all vegan and absolutely delicious. We had the three course menu where you can chose from two different options for each course and everything we had was really good! The restaurant is quite small but cute and cozy.

Don’t bring your (non-vegan) family - Edit
Don’t get me wrong, this is a nice little place. The guys running it are doing a great job to deliver a nordic style vegan cuisine. Anyhow my experience involved bringing my unadaptable dad and the rest of my family out to dinner, which resulted in having them judge everything which was alternative (as a vegan type place most often is). My review scores 3 stars because of the poor soup started and because of the intense smell coming from the non-vented kitchen. Other than that my mushroom beef was awesome and the dessert was okay. Staff is awesome. If you are heading with your vegan or simply laid back buddies or on your own you will definitely enjoy.

Thoughtful food for a cozy 3 course menu - Edit
We ate here at the beginning of September just after they had rotated to a new menu, and loved all of the dishes. The starter was an eggplant tartare (basically a really good baba ganoush), followed by a flavorful polenta and then a dessert of baked pear with marzipan and some sort of plant based whipped cream. (My partner got the mousse, which was equally amazing! And very rich.) The restaurant is quite small and very comfortable, and the bread they bring out at the beginning is also wonderful. Ended up being about $50 USD per person, which honestly, for Copenhagen wasn't all that bad. We ate at around 7pm on a weekday and it luckily wasn't too packed, though I imagine a reservation might be necessary for other times later in the evening or on a weekend. We were able to get a reservation over email just a few days before.
