Fantastic

My favorite place in Chania. I like that they serve vegan versions of traditional Greek dishes rather than the usual falafel and veggie burgers.

Everything is made with fresh organic ingredients, and the staff is incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Both times I ate there we also got delicious desserts on the house.

I basically have nothing negative to say about this venue! Definitely pay To Stachi a visit if you’re around.

Pros: Tasty, fresh traditional Greek food, Healthy, Friendly staff

Extraordinaire !

Petit restaurant familial presque exclusivement vegan (quelques plats végétariens).

Nice food

I visited late evening on a Monday. There is a good selection of vegan options. Initially I was told the Mousaka was sold out and they had made a veggie replacement which I found out as they only have a vegan one on the menu however I was later told there was a piece left. We ordered the special hummus to start and the Fava. The hummus arrived and was unusual a sit had avocado and sultanas blended in where I Imaged they would be with the dish. It wasnt horrible just unusual. By the time I polished this off we were told they were out of Fava so we ordered some roast aubergine. The mains came before this arrived. The Mousaka was tasty and they had put a few stuffed vines on as they said the piece was small. It would be nice to have a salad or veg with it to make it a main rather than just a big slice. This may just be the Greek way. My husband had a lentil dish for some added protein which was tasty but nothing special. The aubergine came and was nice.

Overall I felt the dishes were good but nothing blew me away. I felt like the mains were just larger starters and needed a little something extra.

Staff were very polite and friendly.

Would be nice if the whole place went vegan.

Pros: Nice food

Cons: Not all vegan, Dishes lacked extras

Cute family run veggie/vegan restaurant

I had a very nice lunch here, the restaurant is family owned and run and is very close to the Chania harbour. They have many vegan options snd some veggie options can be made vegan upon request. I recommend the Moussaka 100% it was amazing! They use a lot of oil in their dishes so if you are not a fan of oil then maybe try another place or request dish to be cooked with no oil if possible. Fast and friendly service with daily specials as well, very cheap lunch indeed.

Pros: Family run and friendly/polite, Mostly vegan, Homemade

Cons: Oily, Small location, Plain design

Great restaurant

A cozy restaurant with relaxed atmosphere away from the touristic crowds. Tasty food and friendly staff. However, the service was not very quick.

Best Farm to Table slow food

Friendly, warm family wait staff. Menu changes with the seasons. Father, daughter and son in the kitchen. Pretty location across from a little park and near large Saturday Farmers’ market.

Pros: Everything home made, Family run, Veggies from family farm

Cons: Parking difficult, but in Old Town

One of the World's Best Vegan Spots

To Stachi offers traditional Greek dishes and casseroles that are naturally vegan (and some vegetarian dishes with the option to make vegan). This is my favorite kind of food! Slow cooked "gigante" beans in the most tasty sauce you have ever tried! Vegetable casseroles and seasonal specials like chestnuts and pearl onions, and vegan versions of Greek favorites such as moussaka and pasticio. I was in Chania for over a month and I ate at To Stachi many times - always wonderful, with a warm and welcoming staff to match. It's owned and operated by the kindest people, the dad is the chef and the delightful daughters work the front of the house and make you feel welcome. A really special spot not only in Crete, but in the world.

From whole food plant based options to pastitso there are a lot of terrific options. Their daily specials are often the go to choice they’re so good! Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert !

Tolles, kleines, familienbetriebenes vegetarisch-veganes Restaurant. Griechische Klassiker wie Pastizio und Mousaka gibt es hier auch fleischlos. Wunderbar !

Pros: Viele vegane Gerichte

Cons: Keine.

great place!

such a sweet owner! he opened the place 15 minutes before it was time because he saw we were waiting with a baby. the place opens up at 12:30 and because we were early he didn’t have all the menu ready on the spot so he told us what’s ready or almost ready. we had the gemista- tomato, vine leavea and zukini flowers filled with rice and hearbs. was nice, had better vine leaves in crete. also had the gigantes- ginat beans with tomato sause that were nice and amazing vegan mousaka!!! with almond cream in top! we got halva cake and grapes for desert “on the house”. I really recomand going to this special place there are so many diahea and the owner is an amazing greek man!

Amazing!

This was by far the best meal I’ve had in Crete. There were so many vegan options it was hard to choose. The dolmadakia and zucchini flowers were perfection, the green beans tasty, and I was thrilled to find pastisio (Greek lasagna) which was my favorite childhood dish, and one I haven’t had in years due to obvious reasons. Vegans visiting Chania: do yourself a favor and go here, and then go back!
