Delicious, Affordable Vegan Option - Edit
We were thrilled to find this vegan restaurant while visiting the area. They have comfort food options ranging from Buddha Bowls to mockmeat sandwiches and tasty sides. The loaded fries and bang bang tofu are our favorites. The food is reasonably priced and flavorful.
Read moreNot hungry when it's time for dessert? TOO BAD. Order dessert. Order dessert. Order dessert. We got the two options for the day - a chocolate lava cake and a maple parfait - and both were absolutely delicious.
Pros: Excellent food, Good value, Friendly
Cons: Has a slight 'old car' smell (it's an old sub car)

Fun vegan diner - Edit
Got the cauliflower bites as an appetizer which were filling and delicious! We also were able to chat with the owner who was very sweet. Would definitely go again next time I’m visiting the area!

Great Food... but... - Edit
I've been a few times and I've generally always had great food and fairly decent service. However today when my wife and I went our service was horrible, and I believe we had the owner as our server.
Read moreWe were not given menus, had to get up and get them ourselves after our server had given us silverware and then our server kept speaking with (seemingly) a friend at the counter... gathering advice on how to promote the business more and developing flyers to mail out. She was less than friendly with us throughout the whole time we were there, focusing on how to promote the business while not paying any mind to us- customers that are supporting the business.. when she did speak to us her tone was not pleasant.
However, the food was amazing and its great to have all vegan options close by to where I work.
Update 1/10/2020
I wanted to try again because the food is great and people can have bad days sometimes....
Today when I went I had ordered for pick up. Gave the owner my name and she handed me my food. Before I could say anything someone else had walked in (who seemingly had just been there) and the owner asked her if there was a problem. I stayed standing there while they spoke because I needed a fork and the owner looked and me and said "oh you're done here" I said "can I have utensils" and she handed me a fork... there are nicer ways to ask people if they need anything further then "oh you're done here." A simple "is there something else I could help you with?" Would have been much appreciated.
I'm really disappointed because I love the food everytime and it's great to have a vegan restaurant. But the attitude of the owner herself is leaving a bad taste in my mouth and I may not return.
Pros: 100% Vegan, many options, tasty food
Cons: Slightly expensive, bad service.

Excellent every time - Edit
We discovered this place a few months ago (been open since January 2019) and have eaten there many times. Each time the food has been excellent. The owner is very friendly and shares recipes of her amazing creations. The grain bowls are quite filling, the sandwiches are tasty, and the salads also great. The mock tuna salad (made with chickpeas, seaweed, and a few other things) is my favorite. Although I don't usually like raw kale, I love the way it is prepared at Thrive -- marinated in a light coating of flavored olive oil and left to sit for a day or two in the fridge. This takes the edge off and I order it every time as a side. If you're anywhere near Pittsfield, you have to stop by -- you won't be disappointed.

Great Food, Great Vibe, 100% Vegan - Edit
We shared a fantastic meal in this fabulous retro styled diner. The Beyond Meat burger and sausage sandwich were perfectly prepared with great sauces and side dishes of fries and kale salad. Loved the ambience, the friendly server and owner and the great look of the place. We looked around and saw that all of the other diners looked as happy as we were. Unfortunately, we were too full to try what looked like delicious desserts. This is the kind of small business that deserved to be supported while they continue offering delicious food at reasonable prices.

Desserts and homemade soda! - Edit
All of the food is great here but, the icing on the cake is their desserts and homemade sodas. Do not leave Thrive without trying them. You won't regret it.

Came here after spending a few days camping at nearby Mt Greylock. Atmosphere is delightful, classic dinner style. Met the owner who took our orders personally. Food was great. Well presented, nice sized portions, so many options and delicious as well!

An absolute MUST if you are in town - Edit
Fantastic menu, creative entrees, there will be something here for everybody. Lots of gluten-free. We loved it!!!! We ordered the buffalo cauliflower, avocado bruschetta (an unexpected and delicious take on it!), burger with all the fixin's, and one of the create-your-own bowls: brown rice rotini, cream sauce, sausage, steamed greens, black olives. For dessert: raw carrot cake. We were so full that we couldn't finish it all and we will definitely be back. It's a winner!!!!!

Berkshire gem - Edit
Drove 2 hours to check this place out having read lots of positive reviews. It’s a sweet little place with plenty of parking. The owner is super friendly and knowing it was our first time, told us about all the favorites although I think anything would have been just as good. There were lots of great sounding apps and soups but we opted for the pretzel bites with mustard sauce and the amazing buffalo cauliflower. Being one of my favorite food items, I always order it when available and I make a pretty decent version but Thrive’s is the best. Nice crunchy coating and firm (not mushy) cauliflower with plenty of heat and a delicious dipping sauce. We each got a bowl, mine was Mediterranean with quinoa, beets, avocado, carrots, cukes, tofu feta, almond parm, mixed greens and a lemon garlic dressing. Hubs got the loaded potato bowl which he loved. We split the raw carrot cake ~ yum and we also each got their very unique house made soda. I normally just have water but this was something I wanted to try and I’m glad I did. Worth the drive and we will go back!!

Thank God! - Edit
Finally, a place where I can choose from anything on the menu. Gluten free, vegan, and truly scrumptious options. I can also bring my carnivore friends and not have them be disappointed. Still working my way through the menu, but so far, nothing has been anything less than yummy. They've added some spice to the menu, which is right up my alley, but there are lots of options for the more timid. And the desserts are great. It's nice to be able to have dessert again. Check them out, if you haven't.

Really impressed with the quality of food. We got avocado bruschetta, mac n cheese, meatball sub, buddah bowl, raw carrot cake and chocolate mousse. We loved everything they made. They even make their own probiotic sodas! If you’re in or going through Berkshire County, go here!

Excellence in a retro Diner - Edit
This place has it all, friendly staff and owner. Prompt service. Delicious well crafted meals with good portions offering rare vegan comfort foods and healthier buddah bowls and salads. The menu is diverse and has something for any taste, from American to Indian or asian cuisine. Beyond burgers, pretzel buns, faux parmesan hand cut fries. All to die for, loaded baked potatoes etc. Also they have excellent deserts with drizzled sauces and palate pleasing blends. There is plenty of room with booth seating and bar stool style diner counter seating. Did I mention the delicious selection of healthier homeade sodas? A must visit for all. I must add that I had a beyond meatball parm sub that was better than real beef.

What a wonderful find, right in the Berkshires.
Read moreFun simple diner ambiance, 100% plant-based. The Buffalo Cauliflower has just enough kick, but not too much to scare away my wife - especially with the yummy ranch dipping sauce. All the Buddha Bowls we have tried are yummy, the Beyond Beef burger and Meatball Sub seem right at home in the diner setting. The desserts rotate - and we have yet to be let down. If they have the chocolate pudding, go for it!
Pros: Totally plant based, Delicious comfort food, Friendly wait staff
Cons: It is a 20 minute drive for us (but worth it).

VEGAN DINER IN THE BERKSHIRES!! - Edit
I was so thrilled to see that a vegan restaurant FINALLY opened in the Berkshires! The Buddha bowls are a great choice for anyone who can't quite decide what to get; there are lots of options to choose from with a lot of variations. The mac and cheese is SUPER tasty and the tofu bacon is delicious. Haven't tried the desserts yet, but from what I've seen, I have high hopes.

Fantastic vegan diner. - Edit
Pittsfield has had it rough over the last few years, now it feels like things are turning around. Thrive Diner is another reason why people should visit. Vegans relax, no need to ask, everything on the menu is animal free. Ahhh the menu, it's fresh, it's funky, something for everyone. The non vegan with us loved the Beyond Meat burger. However, it's not all substitutes for burgers and meatballs. I ordered the Dal. The generous portion came steaming hot and perfectly spiced. The Buddha bowls were wonderful. Combinations of super fresh grains, veggies and protein choices, easy to customize. Top all this with friendly, prompt attentive service, looks like a winning combination!
