Excellent - Edit
Exceptionally good tea and cake- and a huge cake and loads of options for both. It’s a nice space to sit. It was busy so we had a fifteen minute wait for a table at 2pm. Staff were clearly really busy as they were also doing a lot of takeaway. They were clearly struggling a bit to keep on top of everything but were really friendly and doing their best.

A 10/10 breakfast cafe - Edit
This gorgeous little cafe is a lifesaver in Fort William when you’re on the hunt for breakfast. I’ve been twice now, a couple of years apart, and it only gets better! The coffee is out of this world, and the food selection is always beautiful. One of my favourites!

Decent food - Edit
Café with sandwiches and cakes.
Read moreWe had the 3 sandwich options available and they were all tasty, filling and fresh.
Bread is lovely toasted.
The lemon cake and the chocolate fudge cake were delicious and fresh.
Unfortunately the brownie was disappointing, small, thin slice and pretty plain.

Little Gem - Edit
Spent a few days in Fort William and struggled with food options. When this place opened it was like someone had just given me food heaven. Everything is vegan and there is a lovely friendly feel to the place. The staff were brilliant and chatted to us about being vegan and gave us a really good description of their food. We had the breakfast sandwich of seitan, avocad-no and an amazing relish, it was delicious. The coffee is first class, we had a Brazilian blend and I couldn’t wait for the second cup to arrive. They also do some amazing cakes, we picked up one of every kind to have for lunch later and they were so yummy.

Delicious food and handy shop - Edit
I'm a local, and every time I go into the Wildcat there's some new and delicious food to try, all hand made on site. They use quality ingredients, local where possible, and pay their staff a living wage, which explains why visiting here isn't as cheap as the Costa up the high street. There's no question it's worth the cost, though! The shop at the back ain't cheap either, but it's really handy for getting your hands on ingredients that would be otherwise impossible to find in the area. Most of the products are specifically eco-friendly, and they make deliveries by bike instead of by van. If you're plant-based and eco-conscious then this place is perfect for you!

2019 - Edit
I visited here in 2019 on a bicycle tour and I loved their unapologetic extinction rebellion vibe. Right on the high street of a major tourist town too!

Great all day breakfast wrap! - Edit
Stopped off here for some breakfast in Fort William and the all day breakfast wrap was so tasty. It had tofu scramble, coconut bacon and an avocado alternative that was made from edamame beans!

Good enough to warrant a detour - Edit
I had an all-day breakfast wrap on first visiting, which was very substantial, with "avoca-no", tofu scramble, beans, and fake cheese. It really was spot on and set me up for the day. I ended up going back later and having the soup of the day: mushroom and fennel. There's also all different cakes, so I had a coffee and walnut cake, which was also substantial, tasted very good, and was moist.
Read moreWhen I went they were serving from a plywood counter at the front door and people were waiting on a nearby set of benches. I think it's a covid measure. The staff also all wore masks and were all polite. It's a shame it shuts so early but everything winds down early around there as far as I can tell.
Pros: Very good food, Accessible

Would give more stars - Edit
This place really tries and it shows. It may be preaching to the choir, but the message is clear: the environment is important. The other message is also clear: the food is delicious. And SO MANY BAKED GOODS TO CHOOSE FROM. Would have tried the whole menu if I could’ve.

Worth the wait - Edit
We had to wait about 35 minutes for a table on a Thursday afternoon, there is no way to book. That was all fine when the food is so good. We both had the salad bowl which was incredibly filling. Good range of coffees and sandwiches. The carrot cake was delicious and so had some shortbread to take away also.

Cute and cozy with amazing food. - Edit
This cafe was so cute and cozy. Well laid out with provisions to maintain social distancing. Really glad we were still in Fort William on Wednesday to visit this reatuarant. The food was superb - we had the scrambled tofu and avoca-no on sourdough. The scrambled tofu was the best I've ever had, so well seasone, and the avoca-no was just like avacado and in fact maybe even better! The food was so good we even ordered a sandwich and wrap plus deserts to go so we could have them for lunch later in the day. They also have a little vegan store selling dry goods, toiletries and books. We bought two books and really looking forward to reading them. The staff was also very good and really showed they care about their customers. Would highly recommend eating here when in Fort William.

I live in Fort William and end up quite often at the Wildcat. Lovely atmosphere and staff, delicious drinks and some of the best vegan cakes I've had. Great books and products on sale at the back ! I love that the place in fully vegan - that is a very rare thing in the Highlands. Actually I can't think of another place at all. Love their oatmilk chai latte and matcha latte !
