Phenomenal Indian Cuisine - Edit
We ate….a lot. And everything was absolutely delicious. We got the tikka masala, the vindaloo, and the aloo gobi along with the butter chicken poutine and the Manchurian (dumplings). Also got the garlic naan and plain rice.

Love the Indian food! - Edit
I love this place!! I’m sure the pizza is good too, but I always order the Indian food. It’s delicious and such good value for money. I particularly like the vegetable jalfrezi, chana masala, pilau rice and garlic naan... finally, somewhere with vegan naan!

Best Sweet Chili Cauliflower in Town - Edit
My roommate and I split the butter chicken poutine, sweet chili cauliflower, and the buffalo cauliflower pizza. Overall, we were impressed with our meal.
Read moreButter Chicken Poutine ($9.95)
The butter chicken sauce is delicious. It’s rich and creamy and the spices are on-point.
Unfortunately, this dish doesn’t travel great. It would be best enjoyed on the premises, or with the sauce and fries packaged separately.
My only other issue with this dish is that they top their poutine with raw grated ginger, akin to how you might top poutine with cheese curds. I kind of wished I had scooped all the ginger bits off at the beginning instead of eagerly stirring them in.
I’m not sure exactly what I was thinking? Maybe that the raw ginger would deliciously blend into the sauce the way cheese deliciously melts into gravy?
Note to self: it doesn’t. 😂
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this dish. It just ends up being more like potatoes in vegan butter chicken sauce, and less like butter chicken poutine.
Sweet Chili Cauliflower ($10.95)
I came for the butter chicken but stayed for the cauliflower.
I like the thickness and chewiness of the deep-fried batter. Sure, when you bite into them, there actually isn’t much cauliflower. And yeah, the actual batter-to-cauliflower ratio is like 3:1...but who says that’s a bad thing?!
The portion is big enough to split between two people and the price-point is reasonable at $11 per serving.
Buffalo Cauliflower Pizza ($20)
I have some things to say about this pizza.
The fried cauliflower on this pizza is crispy, crunchy and separately delicious in a way different from the sweet chili cauliflower. I like their dough and their choice of vegan cheese (Violife). But I didn’t really enjoy the whole execution of the buffalo cauliflower pizza. It was hard to get a bite of all the toppings at once. The ranch drizzle was very scant, and the fried pieces of cauliflower were very crunchy and quite big, making it hard to get a bite of each topping in every mouthful.
That being said, I still enjoyed this pizza and I am excited to try some of the other pizzas on their menu.
Overall I enjoyed my (takeout) meal from here and I thought the price points were reasonable. I will be definitely going back to try out some other items on their menu.

Best deep friend cauliflower in the city - Edit
Also, the naan was just as good as any naan I had before I ever went vegan! I was stoked to have a "butter chicken" dish again. It was soooo good. A bit spicy, which I wasn't expecting. And onion rings!!! I'm amazed these are vegan pinion rings they taste and look just the same as any onion rings you've ever seen at a diner. The only downside, I ordered too much all for myself and felt sick for days. Everything is bad for you and greasy. Share

One of my favorite spots for pizza - Edit
Totally vegan, wide variety of pizza toppings, super delicious! The Indian food is okay, I haven't tried all of it. The curries and samosas are nice but the pakora are not great, a bit too doughy.

Great Buffet - Edit
They do vegan pizza slices! Wow! Lots to choose from, I had the "bacon" potato pizza and the jackfruit bbq "pulled-pork" pizza. The crust weren't that good, a bit like overcooked dough, but I liked the toppings - the jackfruit bbq was a lot better than the potato pizza as there was more flavour to it.
Read moreHad butter "chicken" for the first time, apparently it tastes like the "real" thing? I wouldn't know, not up my street flavour wise, it was very rich and creamy, a bit pricey for what it was.
We go here mainly for the buffet, there's about 5-6 things to choose from, I like all of them, being a slight chilli-head, I would have appreciated spice in the curry, they only had chilli oil when we asked.
We highly recommend the garlic naan, consistently piping hot, fresh, soft and delightful.
Update: we have ordered a couple of curries now off of the menu instead of the buffet and I would say just go for the buffet as the curries on the menu are the curries from the buffet.......the dhal (sp?) curry was weirdly dry, mainly because it had more legumes than the buffet dhal, other than that....for the price (although not expensive and with the expectation that is would and should be "better" because it took a bit of time to come out), we felt a bit "cheated" as the buffet and the menu curries are roughly the same price and meal.......
The pesto pizza was good, fresh, but a bit dry. Would order again.
Finally, the decor feels cold and the place could really do with a nice touch up!

Read moreI love pizza castle now. They've improved a lot since my first review and submission of this place. I feel safe in knowing they're completely vegan!
Some must haves:
- The butter chick'n... Damn...
- The cauliflower pizza, so spicy and delicious!
- The onion ring pizza... So unique, onion rings on a pizza? Amazing
- The Bacun potato pizza, they've improved it a lot. If you like faux meat, you'll love what they have to offer! Improved the sauce too.
I tell my friends about this place all the time.
FORMER REVIEW FROM WHEN THEY OPENED:
First let me talk about the food: I ordered the vegan bacc'n and potato pizza, and it was pretty good. The potato was a little bit dry, and I wish there was a little more sauce but here we are. The faux meat was by an awesome local Vancouver brand called Plant Base foods, and it was just so "real" tasting that I had to triple check it was real haha (which might be a turn off to most). I always run the fear especially with places that share that cook real meat.
Secondly: Ordering the pizza was super awkward. I ordered over the phone and asked them if they accepted debit, the guy on the phone was like "do we deliver???" and I was like "No, do you take debit?" "Yeah we deliver!" "Okay, awesome.... Do you take debit?" "Okay, let me ask if we deliver" "No-" then he took my order after asking a boss/supervisor/whoever and had me on hold for a few minutes. Then they delivered it to me after an hour, which is honestly typical of new/small pizza joints. They did end up taking debit which is awesome, but I had another super awkward talk with the driver.
I find this conversation very frequent with people who are like me (mixed race), and although I don't find it super offensive, it did creep me out and lose professionalism in my opinion. Heres how the conversation went after taking my debit card:
Him "Are you a student?"
Me "Nope"
"Oh okay, cool! So..... Uh.... Are you from here?"
"From here? Yeah... I'm from Vancouver...."
"Born here?!"
"Yeah dude, I was born in Canada...."
"Great!"
"Okay, bye thanks for the pizza"
I think I might be visiting one last time before solely having my money go to ~just~ vegan pizza chains. I will give them the benefit of a doubt because they're new. But, it was expensive for just okay vegan pizza (18$ for a regular) when I could go somewhere else and support PlantBase meats by just buying their products.

Must visit spot for tasty indian curries and pizzas! - Edit
Its very rare for an Indian place to be 100% vegan, and this place blew my expectations away! Their butter chicken is a must try! Portion sizes were generous. I visited about 10 Vegan restaurants in Vancouver, and this one definitely sits in top 3! Keep it up Pizza Castle!

This is my go-to - Edit
I probably order from here 2-3 times a month, they are my go-to for my "I don't have the energy to cook for myself" nights.
Read moreThe butter chicken poutine is BOMB, pair it with an order of samosas and watch your bad day turn into a magical evening.
Also, the onion ring pizza is sooooo good that I'm always debating myself whether I want to try a different pizza (that also looks amazing) or go with what I know and crave. I've had a slice of the pepperNOni pizza and it's also top-notch.
The restaurant itself is pretty small, but their $10 buffet... which I've been to 4 times now... is really great. They don't over spice things but it all tastes really nice- and if you can go on a night where they make the yellow yogurt curry with the pakoras in it DO IT. I left uncomfortably full.
Pros: cost, flavour combos, buffet
Cons: small restaurant

Dirty hair found in pizza - Edit
I went here for the first time with high expectations after seeing all the positive reviews. When i walked in the place resembled a dirty prison cell but i decided to give it a chance anyways. The pizza was ok for the first few bites until I found a long black hair baked into the crust of my pizza. So nasty. They gave me my money back but still that should never happen. The food may taste ok but beware of unsanitary conditions :(
