This place is great, it is entirely vegan, and has a lot of different options i haven’t found anywhere else (deep fried artichoke f’sh, a great vegan bacon brand from Asia, Shepard’s pie, donut burgers, etc).

Amazing vegan deli - Edit
Fortunately, I found myself in the area on a Saturday during their brunch hours (Sa-Su 10a-1:30p). I asked the staff which of the three brunch sandwiches was his favorite, and without hesitation, he named #ThisIsMyAddiction, which is a garlic bread ciabatta roll sandwich with tofu scramble, mozzarella, bacon, and smashed avocado. Funnily enough, that wasn't what I was expecting since the steak & egg hoagie and fried chicken bagelwich both sounded more exciting. I ordered it anyway and sipped a mimosa while waiting for my order in the backyard patio, which has about 12 tables that seat 2-4 people each. But yes, the sandwich was everything I wanted in that moment. I savored every delectable bite! Then of course, I went back in and bought way too many of their deli items to enjoy later, including their two staff favorite desserts: coffee cake and tiramisu. Annie's T Cakes pineapple cakes were fantastic, as were the house made smoked whitefish and chicken salads. /sigh I really need to come back more often. If only I could take a direct BART from SF!

I was so impressed with the quality of the food here. I mean, there’s no way I’d mistake the wheat roast slices on the hot roast beef sandwich as animal-derived, but I wouldn’t want to. The flavors are just perfect, and I can’t wait to come back and try their other sandwiches, maybe even their weekend brunch items. I also wanted to buy everything from the market side of the deli: they carry housemade cheeses, desserts, and frittatas, as well as products made by other vendors (e.g., vegan fish sauce, bacon, pozole, enchiladas, tamales, cashew milk ice cream). I’m also tempted to get one of their T-shirts!
Be sure to bus your own table.

Delish! - Edit
Got the chicken Parm, mozzarella sticks and Reuben. The sticks were sooo good even the marinara they came with was excellent and the Reuben was absolutely incredible. The Parm was a bit dry but good taste. Definitely put us in a MAJOR food coma for the rest of the day and it was also enough for for me and my boyfriend to eat two meals each. Would recommend If you have nothing else going on in the day and can just take a nice nap post meal.

Nailed It! - Edit
Everything was good, only think I didn’t care about was the vegan bacon. When I went vegan I wasn’t looking for a alternative and I still don’t. The tofu needed a little bit more seasoning but overall I’ll happily return to eat more.

The best deli food! - Edit
Butcher’s Son has an incredible selection of sandwiches and other deli foods that use their own house-made meats and cheeses. Classic sandwiches are all represented, along with excellent starters and sides (like fried mozzarella, potato salad, Caesar salad, etc.)

amazing vegan sandwiches! - Edit
This place is amazing! I get something different every time I go, and so far everything has been delicious. The portion sizes are huge. Even my non-veg parents love it. I can’t help but notice they stopped offering their potato salad and macaroni salad as a complimentary side, but I won’t take off a star because I know a lot of restaurants have been spread thin budget-wise during COVID.

Favorite restaurant! - Edit
We are full-time RVers, for the past 7 years, that have traveled extensively throughout the lower 48. We have ate at hundreds of vegan restaurants while traveling. The Butcher's Son is our favorite. Our last visit, in January, we ordered 6 sandwiches between my husband and I because they are THAT good. Hands down the best vegan bacon you will ever have!

Not healthy but who cares? - Edit
Honestly the mozzarella is better than real cheese. I don’t like macaroni salad but I like THEIR macaroni salad. For the ultimate indulgence I go to The Butcher’s Son.

Vegan Deli - Edit
Order online on their website or through Doordash. Order items as it were a normal butcher/deli but everything is vegan! I love their vegan mozzarella cheese, vegan mozzarella sticks, their vegan BACON OMG!! probably best bacon I've had. Love their buffalo chicken and Something Fishy (they taste like gator bites if you've had them!). Lots of goodness here!!

delightful, delicious deli food - Edit
Perhaps I'm accustomed to vendors with lone vegan options, but their menu feels vast! There's a wide range of sandwiches and salads, a mini market with refrigerated and dry goods, and a brunch menu that boasts donut-stuffed pancakes and a fried chicken bagelwich. Their portions are huge, it's pricy, and lines can be long, so it's best enjoyed as an occasional treat.

One of the best vegan restaurants in the area - Edit
This is my favorite "unhealthy" vegan food in the bay. It's hard to find good vegan cheesecake but The Butcher's Son hits the nail on the head. The portions are large and worth every penny. I highly recommend coming here, I would eat here every day if I could. My favorite menu items are the meatball sub, cannoli, and of course the cheesecake.

There are healthy options here - YAY! - Edit
We went to The Butcher’s Son - a vegan delicatessen and bakery. This place is always mentioned in YouTube videos and blogs. Initially I wasn’t that keen as the dishes didn’t look that healthy, but at the end of the meal, I was happy we ate there.

Portions were huge, the food was so flavoursome and appealing. Yes, I would recommend this place. You can have the “Something Healthy” salad if you’re looking for something with raw elements. There’s also LOADS of vegan grab n go items too.
Pros: 100% vegan, Good selection, Healthy options available

Good but messy food - Edit
The food is good here but everything is so big and messy and doesn’t seem to stay together so it takes some of the enjoyment out of eating. It definitely feels you up though.
