Vegan dining with a luxury feel - Edit
The food is delicious. Had the Beluga lentils, Swiss ravioli and cheesecake. The coffee is great, too. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

This is one of the best experiences I had in this region of Germany so far. The restaurant is undoubtly pleasant, it is a great option for having an elegant dinner, so it is worth to coming even it is located far from Frankfurt area. I loved almost every dish I tried (excepting the dessert) and recommend the place. It is quite expensive though so be prepared.

Ich kann das Steinhaus in Büdingen nur empfehlen. Es gibt hier sehr leckeres Essen, was nicht nur Veganer begeistert. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend und man kann im Sommer auch gut draußen sitzen. Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich.

The building and setting is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and still excited about having turned vegan just recently. The food is a slightly modern riff on German rustic classics, including Currywurst. They feature mostly pub food, like tacos, schnitzel, and - really lovely - soy meat shashlik skewers!

We felt that some elements aren't quite perfecta just yet, but may get improved in the future. For example, the starters were quite small and a bit too expensive for what was offered. The nonalcoholic beverages should be clearly marked on the menu. The staff seems a bit disorganized and overwhelmed, so they sometimes forget orders. The menu could also profit from adding more options over time.
None of this is a deal-breaker, though. They clearly have the best intentions, and I'll be back to check how they develop. :)
