One of the best vendors at VCO - Edit
This stall is a hidden gem / underrated FOR SURE. I had their almond croissant for breakfast on the first morning and this is the only stall where I went back for a second dish; the kimchi toastie. Both were absolutely incredible, though I don’t think the almond croissant was fresh (but that’s okay as it was still really tasty). And the size of both of them was great! Festival food tends to be served in smaller portions at a higher pricepoint, but everything at Soy Ahoy was fairly priced for the portion size you got. The kimchi was one of the best I’ve had and the sourdough slices were huge. Definitely check them out if you get the chance, I promise you won’t regret it!

Read moreWhen I visited their stall at a market in Paintworks in Bristol they had already shifted a good portion of their stock.
They had a collection of salads, pastries and kimchi jars on offer. I bought a jar of kimchi and an almond croissant.
I got some advice on how to eat Kimchi from the vendor as well so it's clear the people behind the stall know what they're talking about. The jar of kimchi was so tasty I ate it straight from the jar.
The portion size of the croissant was absolutely gigantic. If I'd have tried to eat that at the venue or on my way home I'd have ended up with pastry all over myself! The almond filling of the croissant was absolutely delicious.
I'm looking forward to trying their other cold snacks. Honestly their portion sizes are so big that I might have to wait until my braces come off for me to be able to properly enjoy them 😂

Found their pop up at Birmingham Brewing Company. The guy manning the stall was very nice, explained the products really well after all my questions 🤓. I picked up one of each of the seitan strips - peanut satay and bbq (£1.95 each). The peanut satay one was slightly softer in texture and consistency, very nutty and seedy tasting. The bbq was like eating a nice chewy block, covered completely in sauce. I can't decide which one was nicer.

We went to Bristol Pride yesterday and we’re really happy to find some amazing vegan choices! We came across this stall pretty early on and saw the almond croissants- this was such a win as I had been talking about wanting a almond croissant all day🤪 We circled back later in the evening and had a mock dog, dirty fries, a rainbow scotch egg and a croissant - I wish I had the photos to show how incredible but unfortunately we were ravenous by this point and practically inhaled it!! It was incredible food, the scotch egg was amazing (and bonus points for making it rainbow coloured 🌈 hehe). Loved it!!

I have been many times and presently my favourite is the roast and the chilli nachos. Soy Ahoy a pop up vegan is independent from the pub and it is definitely worth trying. I do find the Hatchet pub where it is based a little alternative and of course it is a city pub that is popular and can get very busy but the food is spot on and the staff friendly.

Badly Organised Event & Cold Food - Edit
This is a pop up restaurant in the Hatchet. I saw the event on Facebook for a Vegan Sunday Roast and booked in to attend. The service was bad the staff were rude, the food was chewy and served cold. Waste of money and highly disappointed!

Nice food, small portions - Edit
The place was hard to find, as it is actually called "The Hatchet" (which apparently is the oldest pub in Bristol), and only the menu is under the name "soy ahoy". The food was good, although we had to wait for quite a long time and the portions were comparably small for the price. Keep in mind that there's loud rock music in the background.
