Disappointed. - Edit
Nice location and set on the two upper floors overlooking the lake. To be honest, we visit vegan places all over the world as we like supporting the effort. In this rare occasion it was very much under par compared to the reviews. The tofu pesto sandwich was good but the Sloppy Joe's was tasteless. Cajun fries took ages to arrive, but were decent I guess.
Read moreThe owner never really calculated us, was busy playing loud guitar with a friend on the floor below which meant you had gargled music up top (a mix of The End from the doors and The lion sleeps tonight coming from below). Toilet sink was gross and the cook was smoking in the kitchen.
They have a kombucha business (at least I think it's theirs) and several flavours, which are good - that's a couple of the stars, the third for being totally vegan even if all the owners are not, which is weird - you gotta have the ethos.
Didn't take any pics. Didn't feel like it.
Pros: Vegan
Cons: Expensive for what it is, Not enthralled by food, Funny vibe

What a treat! - Edit
This was a real find. Excellent vegan food with great hot sandwiches, safe iced beverages likes iced coffee and kamboocha , made by the owners. Been twice and great both times. Closed Mondays, and open 5 to 10 each night. Set on a high rooftop over the lake and bridges, great sunsets and large collection of 60s and 70s vinyl to listen to. Very sweet and friendly owners. Loved every moment…♥️😎

We visited the cafe twice in 3 days we were in Udaipur. It's the most chilled out cafe I have ever been to. Food is delicious and service is quick. The owner is very welcoming and staff members are super friendly too.

Great vibes, delicious food, and 100% vegan! Owners are very friendly, the views are great, and food yummy. Nice selection of drinks too. I had the bruschetta, the bread was delicious and topping fresh and tasty

Tasty comfort food - Edit
We had the pumpkin oats patty burger special, the cajun fries and twice the pesto tofu sandwich. We LOVED it, for sure after travelling around in Rajasthan for a month. The place has a small, fabulous menu and a great view of the lake. Highly recommend for sunsets.

Pretty good! - Edit
We only got to try Smoky Jo's once on our trip as they were closed due to illness, they have a pasta & sandwich menu along with pancakes. The view is so good and the staff are really nice!
Read moreThe pumpkin pasta was pretty good but a lil salty and the sloppy joe sandwich was really mustardy! The choc chip pancakes came covered in chocolate which we loved even if it's sickly. We also had to wait 40 mins for them to make them fresh, but it was okay. Overall we paid a higher price for the food and it wasn't perfect the pasta is worth trying :)
Pros: All vegan!

True haven in Udaipur! - Edit
This place is a solid 10/10! We love restaurants with a quality over quantity menu. We visited once and had pasta (the two prices are for regular pasta and then homemade tagliatelle - which is well worth it!) and then again in the evening to catch the night view too, and had sandwiches - pesto tofu and sloppy Jo! They also brew their own kombucha, play vinyl, and provide a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. A must visit in Udaipur!

A vegan gem in Udaipur! - Edit
Smokey Jo's offers hands down the best pasta I've had in India thanks to Chef Akanksha! The views of the lake are splendid, staff is friendly and truly believe in what they are doing. Plus an all-vegan menu is everything for a travelling vegan 💙 Couldn't recommend more 💙
