You can’t go wrong with a PLANTA restaurant. When my husband and I were visiting Chicago, we were so happy to find one. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is always chic, and the service is always excellent. The menu is a flavorful vegan paradise, and a sober person, I always appreciate the variety and complexity of the mock-tails at PLANTA.

Vegan Gem in River North - Edit
This is the second visit I made to Planta Queen in Chicago’s river north neighborhood. Great location and within walking distance to many hotels in the area. The food is all vegan with many interesting items on the menu to try. I loved the bang bang broccoli and the dan dan noodles was spicy with an outstanding mix of vegan chickens and crispy vegetables. Service was great and attentive.

This restaurant was stunning. I loved the menu options and I think it’s a great place to share things. The bang bang broccoli was unreal. I also really liked the flavor combinations in the sushi bowl. Especially the watermelon tuna.

The vibe is chill and venue is perfect. All you can eat sushi rolls on Monday after 5pm for $29 bucks. Slamming good. Volcano was my favorite.

I moved to Chicago from the PNW so I had lots of food from Portland and Seattle. This is the first place I’ve been to in Chicago that occupies time in my mind. Incredibly delicious food! I’m not much of a sushi person either but this place has convinced me to try everything on their menu. It’s pricey but completely worth it. Go on a Monday for $9 Maki Rolls (Maki Monday) and try 3-4 of them (between 2 people) if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.

One of the best vegan places I've been to. I had already tried the location in Toronto and my expectations were very high. Well, they weren't disappointed! It might be a little expensive, but it's worth every penny. The truffle mushroom noodles are a must!

The food itself was fantastic, really tasty. We particularly enjoyed the bang bang broccoli and dan dan noodles. It is expensive, but portion sizes were reasonable. However, the service from staff was very poor. Not very friendly and our waiter disappeared on us and it took a long time to get any service. In the end we had to keep requesting service from another member of staff working in a different section (who was helpful and friendly). We ordered cocktails which sat on the bar for over 30 minutes - we chased them, and then only one turned up. The bill at the end was also inaccurate and another item which we hadn't ordered had been added, so I'd recommend checking the bill carefully before paying!

I got their signature French toast, it was amazing. The cornflake granola was delicious and the crispy coating of the toast really levelled up the whole thing. At the weekend you can get bottomless Aperol spritz or mimosas, I went for the cucumber, mint lemonade, it was pretty sweet but refreshing.
