Those flavours.. - Edit
Fun, quirky interior. It is a slightly stressful experience sitting down. They don't really seem to serve any type of drinks other than coffee or tea. No alcohol, no juices. The staff seems in a rush, you are supposed to order everything through an app. The app doesn't really describe what the dishes are, however. What we ordered was just incredible. The Hokkien mee had an amazing thick and rich fishy broth. Their chef really knows what they're doing. I will definitely be back.

Great Nasi Lemak! - Edit
Although on the slightly pricey-er side, the food here was delicious! My boyfriend and I both had a Nasi Lemak, one was satay and the other was tempeh kurma. Both were great! Lots of nice flavours and textures on both. The mushroom “chicken” on the satay skewers was a highlight!

Rich flavoured spicy food - Edit
A bigger spot than it seems from outside with a nice old-fashioned style inside. Digital vegan menu incl. ordering via QR code / online, what is pretty nice and works flawlessly. Menu has many (Asian) alternatives and everything has a really rich flavor. For some people it could be too much, not even the spicyness. And yes, it is spicy, but it a nice and always different way. We had 3 dishes, all were spicy, and all had a different taste: One more typical, almost Indian, curry-spice (Nasi Lemak), the Masak Merah was more a sweet-sour spicyness, and the satay sticks had a spicy peanut sauce. Everyone delicious in its own way, the peanut one is to die for.
Read moreNot many alternatives for cold drinks but the iced lemongrass-ginger drink was great.
Price is totally okay for the quality (all fresh and organic) and totally worth it. We paid for 2 mains, the sticks, 2 lemongrass-ginger on ice and one hot chocolate with oat-milk 100RM.
Pros: Rich flavours, Many alternatives, Fully vegan

Hello - Edit
I appreciate the effort of serving so many ppl cruelty free food. The restaurant was packed when we came.
Read moreI give 1 star minus because of the digital order system. Not a fan of that. Another star less because they claim to serve healthy food, while, at least everything we tried, was super duper oily.

All vegan, wonderful atmosphere and easy ordering. Curry noodles were good and the mushroom satay was amazing. Drinks are good but have too much ice. Free wifi as well.

Expensive for not much flavour - Edit
The place is vegan and with the reviews I was excited to try. The food was fairly bland and the fake meat very soft and undercooked even though it said crispy. The aesthetic of the place is beautiful but food came slowly and value for money wasn’t good. We have had cheaper food elsewhere that was delicious so it was disappointing.

Taste did not meet expectations - Edit
Food was freshly prepared and presentation was lovely, but the taste did not match the price. It was honestly rather disappointing; you could get better tasting food at a hawker store for a lot less.
Read moreCakes were also very dry and crumbly, not worth the calories. We also tried their Nasi Lemak but it tasted more like Nasi Briyani (no taste of coconut but a lot of spices)
That said, some dishes were pretty good

Upmarket vegan dining - Edit
Pinxin offers something different to many of the other vegan and veggie spots in Penang, and that’s the ambiance, atmosphere and surroundings. You would happily enjoy a business lunch or celebratory dinner at this restaurant, it’s vey well suited to both. The lions main mushroom is championed throughout the menu, featuring in many dishes which made us happy. The satay was delicious (although quite pricey for a relatively small portion) and the Nasu lemak was excellent. The rice dish that we ordered was fine, but rather uninspiring.

The food is good with some interesting things to try but don't come here if you are in a hurry. 1 soup and 2 sides took almost 2 hours. The soup came first after 40mins, unbelievably.

Reasons why I give 4 stars are because we went there more than once and had to wait quite a while for our food and they didn't have a welcoming atmosphere, you have to walk in and kind of help yourself to a table. I think they are understaffed.

Slow service, food so so - Edit
Visited past 1pm on a Saturday. Restaurant doesn't look too busy. Not greeted by anyone. Waiters were very cold when asking them to clear the table or when asking questions. Food took an hour to be served, only when we prompted for it. all we ordered were Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kandar and a burger. Can't understand why it took so long to serve.
Read moreFood portion is good. The taste however is not up to the expectation. The Nasi Kandar curry was a bit bitter. The burger bread was also hard. The chips accompanying the burger was oily. Overall, the food doesn't match the price point

Excellent, Healthy Vegan Cuisine with Malaysian twist! - Edit
We ordered via Grabfood app. Since we are not Malaysian, we needed to pay by cash. The grab app only allows cash orders less than 100 MYR. As for the food, it was very healthy and nutritious! The Nasi Lemak was brown/red rice with only very light coconut flavour, but definitely less oil and salt than traditional Nasi Lemak. The TEMPEH in this dish was TO DIE FOR!!! The Satay was monkeyhead mushroom marinated in satay seasoning with lovely peanut sauce. The Pearl Noodle item was very hearty and healthy in that the soup was very nutritious yet flavourful in taste. The clear noodle soup was like home-cooked food, welcome to our stomachs on our trip. The packaging was very nicely done - paper bags plus disposable paper bowls and plastic lids with Pinxin stickers for the "exclusive" look. SUMMARY: a little pricey compared to local fare, but well worth the extra cost for the healthy versions of some local Malaysian dishes. Definitely a must try if you're a health-conscious vegan! We will definitely eat there again the future. : )

Overrated But Still Good - Edit
It is a nice place inside. Some of the decor is on the interesting side but as you get closer to the main counter, everything's a bit more put-together. it was well air-conditioned and not too bright. A nice place to sit down for a bite to eat.
Read moreFor a Chinese restaurant, the menu is a bit on the small side. I didn't know exactly what it was that I was in the mood to eat that day but going through the menu, there wasn't a lot of immediately grab me. I actually ordered their Nasi Kandar, and although it was nice, it wasn't really what I went in for. As a group, we did order other dishes and everything was well-flavoured and well-cooked.
It wasn't exactly cheap, either...so although it was a nice restaurant with good food, I don't know if it is quite the "must-visit" that a lot of the reviews would have you believe.
Pros: Nice Interior, Freshness About The Place, Well-Cook, Well-Flavoured Food
Cons: Not Many Menu Choices, A Lot Of The Items Were Unavailable, It's A Bit Overrated

Superb Vegan Restaurant in Georgetown! - Edit
We had a great dining experience at Pin Xin. Very welcoming ambience and knowledgeable staff. My partner who is flexitarian really liked the food. We had 4 mains, 2 side dishes, 1 dessert, 1 coffee, 1 chocolate drink, mixed berries juice and lemongrass tea, all for 167RM. Might be a little expensive but hey, we are supporting the drive for a plant-based planet.

One of my all time favourite restaurants! - Edit
Pinxin is an outstanding vegan restaurant, with kind staff and a nice atmosphere. They are very focused on the ethics and health benefits of being vegan. There are so many great options from charcoal bun burgers to noodles and bowls. I order the avocado smoothie. Just about everything I eat there and the mushroom satay is also a family favourite. It is a bit pricey but for the quality of the food it is totally worth it! We have taken meat eaters there and had them love every bite. The restaurant also has a shelf of zero-waste products from straws to zip lock bags. Anyone looking for a nice place to eat out in Georgetown should seriously consider Pinxin!

Important to Try. Bold, Classy Space. Flavorful, Local Dishes. - Edit
If you are located in Penang, I strongly recommend you try the food from Pinxin Vegan Cuisine. I dined indoors in March 2019, and it was always lively and filled with customers. I especially savored the Charcoal Dark Hericium Burger, Nasi Lemak, and their brownie cake.

Superb food - Edit
Came here as I was craving veg nasi lemak and I was not let down. Top quality ingredients prepared by a highly skilled chef. I had the nasi lemak masak merah (tempeh & hericum mushroom in red sauce) and it was fabulous. Also had the Teochew kuang chiang rolls, and I they were great too.
Read moreThe ambiance is very nice too; it does an excellent job of capturing the feel of old George Town.
