Great food but not a fan of the location - Edit
This is the 3rd Oowee I’ve been to and the food is always excellent. I gave the other locations a 5 and the food here was just as good, but unfortunately I’ve given this branch a 4 due to the location. It’s situated in Brixton Village Market and to get to it you have to pass several fresh fish and butcher stalls which was really smelly and disgusting. The restaurant itself is also directly opposite a seafood restaurant, which thankfully was closed when we visited, but still felt very uncomfortable to sit across from. It may seem harsh to downgrade Oowee for this as it’s not their fault, and arguably is a good thing as it’s bringing some vegan relief to a very meat-heavy area, but it just diminished the experience a lot for me. If I was picking between the Dalston and Brixton branches, I would go to Dalston just for this reason, as the rest was great. The staff were lovely and helpful (even giving me a free pot of sauce after I came back to buy some after realising I’d forgotten to order it initially) and the food was delicious as ever. We went for the limited edition ‘Ocean Burger’, limited edition ‘F!sh N’ Chips’ and a Mac n’ Cheese. I was more of a fan of the ‘F!sh N’ Chips’ but my fiancée absolutely loved the burger as well. The ‘fish’ used in both meals was from Omni and was really impressive. The texture was excellent and the flavour was so good – one of the best fish alternatives we’ve tasted! The chips were also really nice and the mac n’ cheese was great as always. The garlic mayo was also really tasty. I’ve tried quite a few vegan garlic mayos and they can be really hit and miss but this was a hit. All in all the food was great and in a different location I’d have given it a 5.

this is the kind of vegan place I feel confident bringing my non vegan wife. She could find her usual comfort food and was happy with the taste.

We stopped here for food while visiting brixton village. The garlic butter fries were delicious, and they also had vegan onion rings. Their signature “dirty sauce” was also really good!

This was my first visit to the Brixton branch - and it definitely won’t be my last! The staff were very friendly, and I got my food quickly. I got the Flamin’ hot clucker, and it was one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. It was £12.50 for the burger, chips and a drink - which isn’t cheap, but it hit the spot and it was filling. It was really nice sitting in Brixton Village eating this fresh.

I had the Sriracha Loaded Shrimp fries and they were so tasty! I just about managed to take a snap!
Friendly staff and great vibes and food. Defo recommend for a quick eat!

I got it delivered via deliveroo (a bit annoying thats the only delivery service, their fees are much more expensive than uber eats and without discounts) so i didnt see the inside but it was soooo fast it was great. My fries were massive !! and the chicken was amazing, i wish I had got some as a side as well. I love their bristol branch and got the cluckin fries there before - this was the same but with the amazing addition of cranberry sauce. Yum! #Veganuary

The burgers here are junk food, but in all the ways you want it to be. The fake meat is excellent but I wouldn't recommend eating here very often unless you want to get diabetes. The food is very salty so do get a drink of something to wash it all down. You do have to walk through one of Brixtons markets to get here, during the day expect some grim meat markets to reach this great vegan joint

Super garlicky chicken burger - Edit
I had the spicy chicken burger and all I could taste was garlic. I don’t know where the overpowering flavour came from but it was so pungent it was almost inedible. I got my partner to taste it to see if it was just me and he agreed there was a strong garlic flavour. Also slightly pricey.

Expensive soggy burger - Edit
I was so excited to try this, but it wasn’t the best experience. I did order by Deliveroo, so perhaps the food suffered in transit, but my ‘baconator’ burger was really mushy and soggy - the hash brown is a terrible idea and the bacon seemed mushed in rather than a separate entity. The marmite waffle fries arrived without the mozzarella I had paid for, and they were delicious but a sharing portion for two people rather than a portion for one (a relief given they cost 8 quid!!!) Not sure I would bother with this again - with delivery I paid over £25 for a bad burger and some nice but not cheesy fries.

Glad we finally have an Oowees south of the river for an occasional guilty indulgence. I really enjoyed my double cheese burger and shared loaded shrimp fries. However, my friend didn’t enjoy her chicken burger as the seitan was too dense. I was also disappointed to discover that they don’t serve milkshakes and ice cream, which they do in the Dalston branch. It would be great if those menu options were added😄

Still thinking about the loaded fries I had, three days later. Ate in on a Saturday afternoon, staff were lovely. Only downer is that the Brixton branch doesn’t have milkshakes.

Eaten here a few times. Great innovative American-style burgers. Not worth getting the tenders -they're the size of nuggets. The different types of topping on fries are really good and come in huge boxes. Best vegan gravy I've ever had.
