Peaceful and delicious - Edit
A lovely restaurant in the busy streets of the historic district tucked away in a courtyard. Delicious food, friendly staff who can speak a small amount of English if needed.

nice vegetarian place in a patio - Edit
This restaurant is not only worth it for the nice calm atmosphere in a patio, but also for its various options. They have 50% vegan food and the delicious cakes are all vegan. The menu is cheap and delicious.

The staff is friendly and ambitious.
Don't forget to try their delicious juices.

Very nice lunch menu for 10 soles. It includes soup, main dish, dessert and a drink. The dishes are original and tasty. The lady of the house speaks English as well. The staff is friendly.
Read moreWe found the portions tiny compared to other vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Peru. This restaurant uses for example seitan and beans, but in very little amounts. In terms of good nutrition, it felt insufficient. We were often hungry shortly after eating lunch.
The pasta with pesto and bolognaise that can be chosen every day as a menu don't seem worth it. In my opinion, the other menu choice is more original and looks better.

Went here for set lunch for 10s. Usual kind of menu - infusion drink, salad (pickled veggies), soup (cream of veg), main (choice of 4, with spaghetti Bolognese or chickpea stew and rice as vegan options) and dessert (mazamorra morada). My boyfriend and I tried both of the vegan mains between us. The soup and chickpeas were particularly tasty!

There were 4 or 5 different vegan cakes available. We took a slice of chocolate and of passion fruit to take away (6s each). They were kind of mousse cheesecake rather than sponge. The chocolate was pretty good, nice and rich. The passion fruit was amazing. I'm not sure what wizardry they used to get the mousse layer that light and fluffy, but if nothing else, go there for the cake!!!

Lovely little place with super yummy menu - Edit
I loved this place, after coming from Ica where I struggled to even find something vegetarian, this was our first stop and it didn’t disappoint. Set in a lovely quiet courtyard the atmosphere is calm and the tables really sweet. The menu for 10 soles was really good value with a really tasty salad, vegetable soup (even had water chestnuts) and I had a spinach croquette that came with rice and a pumpkin purée with choklo and big green beans, plus a dessert which was kind of a fruit purée... everything was really tasty and great value. Feeling greedy we decided to also have a vegan maracuya cake which was super good.

Riquisimo y con muchas opciones veganas. Al pocos minutos de la plaza de armas y un sitio muy bonito.
El unico inconveniente que veo es que no todos los platos son veganos.

This restaurant, situated in the center in an really beautiful building, is incredible cheap and the food is really nice. For just 10 Sol you'll get a menu consisting of 4 courses (salad,soup,main dish,dessert) what means that you'll have enough money left to enjoy a good glass of wine to your food. Moreover the staff is really friendly.

This is a good place for a cheap, quick meal as long as you don't mind having a set menu. You get a drink, amuse-bouche, starter, main (you get to choose from a few options), and dessert for 10 soles. The food is okay, not amazing. However, I also had a piece of passion fruit cake for 6 soles and it was excellent.

I like the restaurant for the fact that is Vegan, I am extremely picky and the food was OK, the facilities and kitchen could be better, didn't look clean. What I had was tasty, habas in sauce and Kiwicha soup. I ordered the daily menu and I do not know if that play a fact, that the food was average. It was really inexpensive for sure.

Perfect for lunch - Edit
We had lunch there 4 times as this was the perfect location when you needed a proper 'almuerzo' at an affordable price. For 10 soles per person we got an entree, soup, main (4 options), dessert and drink. Food was varied, tasty, and healthy too. The owner was so lovely, she spoke English and really cared about her customers.

They opened at breakfast too and they have soymilk so you can have fruits and granola or one of their cakes (often vegan). Friendly and cheap. Love the outdoor seating, sunny and quiet, even though the restaurant is so close to the main square. Has wifi.

Nice lunch at the courtyard - Edit
Very sympathic restaurant close to the center. All menu (starter, soup, main dish, desert) for S/10 (only main dish for S/7). You can sit inside or at the courtyard. Very nice stuff, English speaking lady over there for those who do not speak Spanish. Rich offer of vegan options. Totally recommend :))))

I went there five days in a row, having the 10-sol menú del día each time. Note that the hours mentioned above are a little conservative: I have had it at about 6:00 a couple of times and all the options were available. However, perhaps they don't guarantee not having run out by then. I also noticed that it was definitely closed by that time on the Sunday.
Read moreYou get a small salad (or equivalent) starter, a soup, a choice of four main courses (three of which were vegan each day) a pudding and a drink, with aji and lemon to add wherever you see fit. Most of these changed every day, though some of the main course options stayed for two or three. The starter, though just a little titbit, was always tasty. The soup was always very nice and warming. The main course was also always very satisfying. Once I ordered a 'hamburger' and was a bit disappointed that this meant a fairly shapeless patty rather than a typical one in a bun, but the taste was still pretty good. The pudding is generally puréed fruit. I didn't care for this as much as much as the other courses, but it was fine and once it was hot, which was nicer. The drink was sometimes a cold fruit-flavoured one and sometimes a hot mate-type one.
They also have a selection of cakes, although a lower proportion of these are vegan, for six sols a slice and I had one a couple of times. I have had chocolate cake from many vegan restaurants in my time and it is usually nice but not amazing. The one I had from here *was* amazing: the best I can remember. It was just really rich and succulent.
The staff are very nice, particularly the main woman. She remembered me when I returned on the second day, which made asking about the vegan options feel more reliable.
I can't give a non-vegan place five stars, as apart from the fact that in principle I object to the use of non-vegan products it does make it less relaxing in terms of the process of choosing, but consider this a very high four.

Comí allí los tres días que pasé en Arequipa. Tienen un menú por 10 soles (3$) con dos primeros, un segundo y postre. Me gustaron mucho las sopas de los primeros y sobre todo os recomiendo la tarta de chocolate con maracuyá... está buenísima.

Incredible Vegan Food - Edit
I ate here at least 5 times in my 4-day stay in Arequipa. The owner is very kind and happy to accommodate vegans. Their 10 soles menu of the day has 4 options for a main course, most of which are vegan. It's 4-courses with a veggie salad, a large soup, a large entree and a dessert. And if you're still hungry, try one of the vegan cakes....if you date (you'll be coming back for more, promise).

The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor courtyard which is perfect to sit and enjoy a mid-afternoon snack or a juice as well.
I might have to come back to Arequipa just so I can have another meal at Omphalos!
