Est. 1994, Mezzaluna is a vegan and organic restaurant located in a charming historic building, in a city center square known for its vibrant nightlife. The restaurant offers an a la carte menu consisting of rich courses cooked fresh to order, including housemade stuffed pasta, organic wines, beers and juices. Chef Daniela Zaccuri’s vegan desserts have a low glicemyc index and with many gluten-free options. Open Tue-Sat 19:30-23:00, Sat-Sun 12:00-15:30.

Great food, nice setting, friendly staff - Edit
The food was very good and there was a nice selection of diverse dishes on the menu (not the standard fare but a big more imaginative). The only thing I found less convincing was their tiramisu. I would certainly go back again (even if I'd then try another dessert). They have quite a few tables outside, which is nice as the restaurant shows to a lively square with little traffic. Better make a reservation, though! Staff was also friendly and helpful.

Wonderful vegan restaurant - Edit
All vegan, all organic. A “must visit” for vegans in Turin. On a charming square with outdoor seating. The food was wonderful. Leave room for a vegan gelato at Mondello next door.

Mezzaluna: meraviglia! Tutto buonissimo e servizio eccellente. Abbiamo preso l'antipasto torinese, gli agnolotti e gli gnocchi. Abbiamo accompagnato tutto con grissini e pane. Che dire? Bresaola pazzesca, formaggio buonissimo, vitello tonnato incredibile e quegli agnolotti, cosa non erano?? Un'esplosione di sapore. Cucina veg più buona fino ad ora secondo me. Ho portato via la sacher... Domani la pappo. 💓

Gli agnolotti non hanno nulla da invidiare alla versione tradizionale. Assolutamente da provare la torre di tempeh e carciofi. Abbiamo voluto anche acquistare il ricettario della chef, una persona squisita.

Read moreAt the beginning it was mainly a "macrobiotic" place with very convenient prices. Situated in the old Torino's "quadrilatero romano" area, near the big "Porta Palazzo" market.
The success in the course of years has led to an increase of prices, but still affordable.
I advice to ask a group of 3 or 4 "assaggi" (little portions of various dishes). The choice is wide but if you are in a hurry, ask "scegliete voi" and they will choose for you, among available dishes.
Good pastries, usually free from added sugar (try vegan "tiramisù" if available, for example).
Pros: outdoor tables have nice view on the street, friendly staff, usually do not require to book in advance
Cons: I guess: no fruit & raw dishes like salad

I wish I could stay in Turin longer so I could go back to Mezzaluna and try everything on the menu! I had the tasting menu, with a plate of piemontaise (it was so good, I had missed that taste like crazy since I became vegan), quinoa ball and houmous. Then carbonara and buckwheat crepe with greens (also very tasty, though I don't care for spinach).

I’ve been really impressed by the quality of the food, I had the Russian salad and the tempeh on a potato rösti (I live in Zurich so I know something about rösti...) and both dishes were simply amazing. All my friends (5 people) really appreciated the food too and none of them is vegan, so if you are in Turin this restaurant is a must!

Super vegan creative vegan dishes. Homemade pasta with even vegan ricotta. Nice staff and nice seating area in a busy restaurant street. I ate two courses and it was totally filling. The tempeh dish is really flavorful!

Little vegan restaurant in an amazing location. The food was very tasty, the cakes are among the best I’ve ever had. They are also very fast so great during lunch break or when you are in a rush.
