Very tasty - Edit
Magic kitchen is located in the alternative quarter and the atmosphere is correspondingly relaxed. The lovingly prepared food is inexpensive and very tasty. The staff was on hand to advise us because we were a little overwhelmed at first.

A pearl in Athens 🦪 - Edit
This is the most lovely place in Athens. 😍
Read moreI went there several times to enjoy there delicious food and hang out. It has a nice atmosphere and the staff is super sweet and chill. They cook very good Turkish street food at the moment and it is freshly prepared. You should definitely try one of their gözlemes (vegan cheese is my favourite) and bulgur balls (goes very well with gözleme) or the tantuni! 👌
Also they are a cooperative kitchen, who makes socially and environmentally responsible food. And they're cheap - what's not to like?!

Comfort food to share with friends - Edit
At around 4€ the huge portion of tasty gözleme, it is a pretty good deal. No fancy food here but a really hot and savoury street treat to eat on your own or to share.
Read moreStaff is lovely and the place is vibrant, with people playing table tennis and joyfully chatting all around.
Don’t go there if you expect a restaurant setting and a lot of elaborate options but this place will definitely give you a smile on a (not so) rainy day!
Pros: Affordable, Hot and tasty, A place to try Gözleme

Exciting street food! - Edit
Magic kitchen is a cooperative kitchen serving incredible street food. I had never heard or eaten gozleme or tantuni and was absolutely overjoyed to have something new to try. The gozleme is a very thin bread filled with vegan cheese, mushrooms, greens or potato - the portions are really big and it's super filling and super crispy!
Read moreThe tantuni is a sort of soy kebab cooked in spices, tomato and oil and served in bread or as a plate with salad. It was really incredible! We also had the tabbouleh as something a bit more familiar and it was definitely some of the best we've ever had.
To top it off the staff were super friendly and chatty and the restaurant is in exarchia (the anarchist area of athens) so there are lots of vegan places, cool bookshops and activist spaces nearby.

Snack bar with friendly service - Edit
Small snack bar with friendly staff that made us feel welcome. We were served nicely and even got a kombucha as a gift as it tasted good to us. I had the gözleme with mushrooms and cheese, which tasted quite good. Generally a good price-performance ratio.

Lovely place - Edit
We felt very welcome and had a good talk with the people of Magic Kitchen. We came to drink a cup of black tea in the first place (which was very good) and I tried a mushroom Gözleme. It was freshly made and delicious, also a good portion for the small price.
