Many incredible vegan options, but frustrating that some are not

A mix of things to say. First, I was there in early April, after the high season. Went there for dinner, arrived at 7pm and they said we had to be there by 6pm, because they close early once their resort guests are done eating, because they don't expect much walk in business, as they are near the end of the road in the NW part of the island with only a small amount of lodging nearby.

Went back the next day for lunch and found the menu full of a great range of vegan options. Had the Khao Yam salad, with the tamarind dressing and the curried coconut topping just incredible. And it was really nice during a warm Thai day, to have a light refreshing salad option, instead of just standard noodles or rice which often are too heavy at that time of the day. Also the Lime Tea was really good.

Went back the next day for breakfast and was super disappointed to find the pancakes were not vegan. Super disappointed. Had a fruit bowl with granola instead, which was OK, but not satisfying when hoping for vegan pancakes.

As someone else wrote in a review here earlier, this place used to be 100% vegan, now a lot of animal-based options on the menu, which primarily detract in the case of the pancakes, when they simply don't offer it as a vegan option, whereas with other meals, you can choose tofu and it is fine.

Nice meal

Beautiful water view and some of the best homemade spring rolls I’ve had in my life.

Lots of plant-based options, but not fully plant-based anymore (see photos for explanation).

Kind of a weird place

The other review is from the owner and isn't very accurate. The place is a bit run down and strange atmosphere, but a decent stay on a budget. They have so few guests that you have to let them know your dinner time so they can plan to have a cook there. The "restaurant" is also the reception area with just 2 tables. They advertise as plant based but many of the options have eggs and they are sometimes confused about not wanting eggs.

For breakfast, there is only 1 vegan option (a green curry) other than the smoothie bowl, but it was incredibly good. Their dinner options were pretty hit or miss, mostly just inconsistent quality but sometimes really good.

They advertise as some kind of creative hippie compound (but also annoyingly push crypto), but at least when we were there it was mostly abandoned and nothing to do other than hang at the pool.

It's a fine stay if you simply treat it like a pretty basic resort and don't have other expectations.

They also don't take credit card and charge 5% for PayPal.

Pros: Fairly extensive lunch/dinner menu

Cons: Expensive, Lots of dishes have eggs, Inconsistent food
