This place never disappoints. Delicious food, generous portions and good value. Limited seating inside but they also deliver which we’ve taken advantage of many times. The mock meats are particularly good, as are the rice noodle rolls. Staff are very friendly.

Way before vegan food became trendy, more than twenty years ago, the owner switched to vegetarian food for ethical, environmental and health reasons. Apart from the fried rice and noodle dishes, which you can order with or without egg, everything is vegan.
Read moreThey have a great variety of starters, soups, salads, rice and noodle dishes with or without fake meat. One specialty is a mushroom which tastes like chicken. While some dishes are fried and rather greasy, you can always opt for more healthy options such as soups or vegetable based dishes and still have a tasty and satisifying meal.
The portions are very generous and prices are very cheap considering the quality of the food. You will hardly find a more budget friendly place with this many vegan options in Düsseldorf.
Some highlights are the saté skewers (I have peanut sauce almost everytime I have the option to, but this one remains one of the best I have ever had) and the stuffed shitake mushrooms.
As the name "imbiss" suggests, the place is not very, but the friendliness of the staff and of course the food make up for it.
Pros: Almost completely vegan, Big portions at cheap prices

Cute little imbiss, rustic decor. I was there just after noon and there was not much going on, so my food was ready quickly. Friendly and quiet staff. The food was very tasty and quite a large portion. The Hericium mushroom was really great, very tasty and interesting meat like texture.

It's a almost entirely vegan restaurant. The place is simple and cozy. The stuff and especially the owner is very friendly and the menu is just amazing. Meanwhile I've tried a variety of the dishes and all are simply delicious. The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. For me it's like a hidden gem in Düsseldorf. Love that place. :)

You HAVE to try the hericium! - Edit
Well, you don't have to, but I personally was totally flabbergasted by the texture of this mushroom. Never had it before, never heard of it before, here I got it and I was very much blown away! There are all these mock meats they are known for, but the meatiest of them all ended up being a mushroom that doesn't even get advertised as mock meat. All in all there's a wide selection of vegan options, many of them great (hericium!), some of them not so much, but you will still get value for money.
Read moreEating in the restaurant has a very fast food feel as it's small and not really comfy, but my companions and I were fine with this (it IS an "Imbiss" after all). What totally contradicts the fast food notion is the calm the staff manages to keep, despite of what seems to me like an overwhelming demand of take-out and delivery orders. Which would explain the long waiting times I have been warned of. Just be there early and this won't be a problem either.
EDIT: I somehow thought one could give five stars only to vegan restaurants, which is why I had given this four. My bad, it now got the five stars it deserves from me.

We used to order a lot from Jade. Sadly we moved and are now out of there delivery region. Best authentic vegan asian food. Reminds me of holiday in Thailand. Love this place! The people running the restaurant are so kind. Sometimes they give us summer rolls for free.
