Good experience for foreigners - Edit
Easy to find thanks to photos on HappyCow! Everything we ordered was sooooo good.. Shanghai has many vegetarian and vegan restaurants, but you must try this one. Loved the “meat” on a stick.

Sehr leckeres veganes Essen! - Edit
Für jeden etwas dabei. Viel Gemüse bis zu Fleischersatz. Nur asiatisch. Man tippt am iPad seine gewünschten Speisen per Bildauswahl an. Mitarbeiter spreche kein Englisch. Essen (Mock-meat Tuna) und dumpling soup waren ausgezeichnet. Kurze Wartezeit (aber auch gerade nichts los). Leicht zu finden.

Excellent!!! - Edit
The Veggie beef and pork dishes were delicious as well as the mapo tofu!! The wontons were alright but still worth a try. Overall had a delicious vegetarian feist and would definitely come back. The staff was friendly and the location was cozy and warm!! A lovely lunch!

Fresh and healthy - Edit
All vegan restaurant with friendly non-English speaking staff. Picture menu with English description. I uploaded a few pictures of the menu but there are additional items available. Note the correct building design in the photos. The old one is wrong. Everything I ordered was fresh, healthy, and delicious. Not surprisingly there were monks eating while I was here.

Lunch 2018-10-25 - Edit
Good vegetarian / vegan food. Did not speak English but provided a menu with pictures and English translation. Their review from whatever organisation assesses the cleanliness of the kitchen in China is just Satisfactory. Reasonable prices for Shanghai.

Good and affordable vegetarian/vegan meals - Edit
We came here spontaneously because the vegetarian restaurant we were searching for was closed and we screenshot this one to have a backup, just in case. At first we were worried because the last review was written one year ago but every review written on here is still accurate. It's easy to find but we had to compare the Chinese name on happy cow to the letters on the restaurant to see if it's the right one because the English name isn't there. They don't speak English so you just have to point at the pictures on the menu. The menu is in Chinese but they gave us a menu with sticky notes with the English names beside the pictures. We ordered 4 different meals to share (3 girls), the fried noodles Shanghai style, dumplings, a potatoe and red pepper dish and tofu skinned rolls. I think everything was also vegan but I'm not sure. The noodles were our favorite and the portion was quite big. The dumplings (4) were also very good, same with the veggies. The only thing we can not recommend are the tofu skinned rolls. But we asked for soysauce (via translation app) and it was ok.

In the end we payed 78 yuan.
Someone (no guest) cut his fingernails on the table next to ours which wasn't very appetizing and a but disgusting.
Pros: reasonable prices
Cons: very oily

Super Yummy! - Edit
We really liked this restaurant, especially the dumplings. Yummy!
Read moreThank you to whoever posted the picture of the exterior of the restaurant - the signs are all in Chinese so it made it easier to find.
Wait staff told our daughter, who speaks Mandarin, that the entire menu is vegan.
We recommend it!

Veg in Huaihai area - Edit
I wasn't immediately sure O was in the right location as the name on the restaurant is entirely in Chinese with no English characters. It's a lunch caliber place (not plush or luxurious) which was exactly what I was looking for. The staff did not speak any English, but they did what they could to communicate (it's amazing what a smile and some patience can do to help you get your waiter to help you out!). Fresh brewed oolong tea was served complimentary while I wandered through the menu (ask for the English menu). When I asked for the bill they first brought complimentary slices of watermelon. It took a while to finally get the bill (don't expect to get out of there in a hurry). All on all a nice place for a filling vegetarian meal without worrying whether non-veg ingredients were present like some of the non-veg restaurants do.

Excellent restaurant - Edit
To get there, take subway line 8 and get off at Dashijie subway station. There is an extensive menu with pictures and also a menu that has both pictures and English. The descriptions are accurate. All what we had was excellent.

yet another mock meat place - Edit
This place has mostly mock meat dishes, and the service was nothing special either, but prices were reasonable.

Friendly, on the inexpensive side - Edit
We visited this place today. Medium-nice dining area (i.e. not a tiny noodle shack), some Buddhist decoration. Friendly staff, one guy spoke some English. They have picture menus and one of them was annotated in English. Pretty large menu, probably at least 50 items. We had fried dumplings (18Y for four), wonton soup (this was pretty large, maybe 10 stuffed wontons in there), rice, and a sweet and sour gluten? dish, total was 66Y. The sweet and sour dish was more sticky sweet than anything else but the dumplings and soup were quite good.
