Vegan restaurant, opened summer 2013. Has a living-kitchen concept with a daily changing menu and various desserts. Previously at Lappenbergsallee, opened at new address from May 2017. Close to U3 Feldstraße.
Note May 2020: open for takeaway and outdoor dining, see Facebook page for weekly hours. Open Tue-Fri 12:00-22:00, Sat 11:00-22:00, Sun 11:00-17:00.
Kitchen closes between 4-6pm.

Super schön und lecker - Edit
Ein sehr schönes und gemütliches Restaurant. Die kleine Karte bietet eine super Auswahl und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Das Essen ist super frisch und toll gewürzt. Auch die Limonaden, der Kaffee und der Kuchen ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Lots of good reviews for this place. Take note of the limited, evolving menu and disproportionate cost - the food that they had tasted quite nice, not delicious, but I finished my portion in 2 minutes. Expensive for a main. We had the leek pasta and beetroot quiche. Friendly service. Small place (best reserve). Probably wouldn’t return with so many vegan places in the city.

I had the gochujang sandwich and a coffee. The sandwitch was good for a sandwitch (don’t think a sandwitch can be extraordinary, could’ve been a bit more saucy, but it was still good). The coffee was good too. Really liked the staff, super friendly and helpful with the choice making.

When we planned our trip to Hamburg, we asked ChatGPT for restaurant recommendations. It always suggested happenpappen (and to even go there multiple times), so we were exited to try the place.
Read moreWe got their on a Saturday at 11:01 am, it opens at 11am and the place was already packed. We waited almost for an hour until we get our food. Drinks and service were fast though.
The club sandwich was a little underwhelming as the bread was just basic toast bread. We also had the Blumenkohl Benedict which was quite messy and too small of a portion for the price.
I guess as the menu changes daily I could try to come back another day for a better experience. At least it’s not Hamburgs vegan asian cuisine. But in the end, portions were small and also pricey.

The Happen Pappen was recommended to me several times and it was really great! I had a small curry (large also possible) for the small appetite. The drinks are also delicious! The staff are super friendly and courteous! Really great! I will come again for sure, when visiting Hamburg again!

100% vegan cafe just opposite the Hamburg Bunker. It changes its menu regularly. I had a herb bowl which was fresh and filling. Most mains come in large and small.

While deciding what to have someone said, “have the bowl the bowls are always great”, so we did, plus quiche. Great midday food, generous portions, tasty and balanced. Nice to sit outside in sunny weather. Banana cake was great too, perfect for sharing. This place was a great recommendation from friends.

Offers homemade burgers and bowls after 6 p.m. I enjoyed the food, the burger itself came without sides, which could be ordered separatly. A not exactly huge burger plus a side will set you back around 20 Euros, which I thought was a bit steep.

I loved the place, very cozy and empowering and staff was lovely, but the burgers were just ok, the buns a bit too dry and falling apart, the patties and sauces were innovative and yummy, but the drinks sounded better than they tasted. The jalapeño potatoes were nice but nothing to write home about. Will come back to try their other dishes!

Wir sind extra hier her gelaufen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wir waren 5minuten vor 16uhr da (16uhr endet der Mittagstisch mit warmen Speisen) und wurden super nett und zuvorkommend empfangen und haben ohne murren etwas bekommen. (In anderen Lokalitäten ist man so kurz vor Küchenschluss ja eher weniger gern gesehen, hier wirklich absolut nicht der fall.)

Wir waren recht spät (21.15 Uhr) noch im HappenPappen und wurden trotzdem noch super lieb empfangen und haben einen wunderbaren Burger gegessen und die selbstgemachte Limonade getrunken. Auch der Kuchen vor Ort ist super lecker.
