Halapua serves plant-based Sicilian-Asian set menu, inspired by the story of two islands, Koh Samui and Sicily, both home to Kapuhala. All vegan restaurant view amazing view - Edit
This place has a special vibe. The view is stunning as the restaurant is located directed at an infinity pool with an amazing view. The food is Sicilian & so delicious. We had a starter, a main dish & a dessert, everything was so delicious and special. Big recommendation. (Also the way is bit hard to drive with a scooter even though it’s a little bit in the mountains)

Vegan Place to be on Koh Samui! Small but amazing breakfast Buffet (Scramble and Beans could be warm). Dinner is very delicious, but we wouldn't call it fine dining. The bread is dry superfast and could use a little salt. The Bruschetta is bland, it misses onions and salt and basilicum. Spaghetti Bolognese were a little on the sweet side, but still tasty. Really good were the Caponata and Arancini, Top.
Read moreThe Room is small but fantastic and the view just amazing. The Gym is nice. Unfortunately there were no yoga classes while we were there. The Surrounding is quite, you can walk around and explore the nature around. Is a little out of town.

Excellent Vegan Fair with Exceptional Service - Edit
We stayed at Kapuhala for 1 week in November and ate at the restaurant 70% of the time. The staff was friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to cook new dishes for us, as we had eaten almost everything on the menu at some point. Phoebe, the property manager, was extremely helpful and sincerely cares about the quality of their fare and service. Will stay and eat again!

Great Italian food using local products. It was incredibly delicious. We had the bruschetta, the pumpkin pasta and the parmigiana. The desserts are beautiful as well.

We had the best Christmas dinner here! It felt so special! This is my first Christmas away from my family in the UK and I had been feeling a bit homesick but our evening at Halapua had made my day! Everything was perfect! The decor, the staff, the food even down to the relaxing versions of class Christmas songs playing in the background! It had such a great atmosphere!

They used ingredients that I wouldn't normally be my favourite at home like cauliflower and eggplant but made it so delicious that it's 100% converted to me! My favourite was definitely the vegan duck! I feel like I want a cooking class from the chef because everything that came out was incredible! They came out and explained each course which made it that bit more special. The staff were so friendly and accommodating you could tell it was a family run business with so much love and care put into every part of it!
I'm so gutted we found it after we booked our accommodation because I definitely would have stayed there too and will definitely be back In the future!
I've been away for 2 months in Thailand and this was the best food I've had on my trip by far!
Thank you for making my first Christmas away so special! We will definitely be back!

A great place to have lunch and chill around the pool. We shared a few dishes and the Kapuhala Parmigiana, which consists of aubergines layered with tomato sauce and vegan cheese, was the highlight of all of them – everything was really good though.

We enjoyed a vegan dinner with exquisite food and stunning views. The staff is very friendly and the communication in advance was very good. We used the pick up service from the foot of the mountain as the drive can be challenging.

Worth it for the experience! Come early to swim and enjoy the view, stay for the yummy food. The meal was good but felt really basic / simple for the price. (Maybe the chef was off? Not sure.) Overall everything was tasty and we would come back for the experience but not for the fine dining experience we had expected.

We felt well cared for and the experience being there felt luxurious. (The pool and setting is gorgeous.) Wine was okay at best — red wine was chilled. Coffee after the meal was tasty. If we’re back in the area we would consider returning but would hope for a more unique food experience.

Reserved ahead for their 4(?) course set Sicilian menu. Our taxi had a hard time finding Halapua and it's quite a climb for a regular car. But the view of the Jungle and coast is worth it.
Read moreWe were early and invited to take a dip in the beautiful infinity pool adjoining the different tables. We were given a selection of three dishes and choose focaccia with spreads and eggplant Parmigiano.
After the dip we sat and were offered wine. Ither options were local beer and fresh coconut
First course were slices of French bread with panelle - a Sicilian chickpeas patty. Tasty.
The mains arrived with my partners 4 squares of thick foccacia with decorative but simple toppings.
My eggplant Parmigiano was very good.
Dessert had a Christmas theme and consisted of a jelled berries on a nut based crust and a gingerman biscuit. I loved it. My partner wasn't keen.
All very nicely presented and served but heavy on bread and didn't match the hype and expectations
We stopped on the way home for coconut ice and three hours later had fantastic thai style vegan buffet for a pittance.
5* for ambience, service and presentation, taste
4* for originality
3* for food and cost
Come for the concept and ambience but if you're really hungry, on a budget or want local cuisine - there are much better options.

Finally back in Samui and so happy to see that Halapua survived the pandemic. Truly fantastic vegan food that goes beyond the typical salads, wraps and bowls. The atmosphere, the view, location are all fantastic and definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a chill spot on the island.

Food on offer here is amazing. So fresh and with a real focus on sustainability. The chef has created some amazing dishes and is so passionate about good vegan food. The service from the staff is amazing too. We would recommend staying there too, especially in their tented villa
