Wir hatten eine Bowl, ein Sandwich und ein Stück Kuchen. Alles war ganz gut und konnte vor Ort gegessen oder mitgenommen werden. Die Auswahl war ebenso gut und alle veganen Speisen sind gelabelt.

We ❤️ Haferkater - Edit
No brainer breakfast option every day we were near a Haferkater on our Germany trip - but especially in Essen, where there wasn’t much competition for vegan breakfast (at least near the centre). At Essen you can sit in or takeaway. 5 of the 8 porridge options were vegan if I remember correctly, and clearly marked. Also takeaway porridge pots to make at home, wraps, banana bread etc.

Haferkater never disappoints! Everything vegan is clearly labeled, fresh and tasty. The porridge is delicious and a great alternative to the usual vegan options you can find inside mainstations. The prices are fair too and the little seating area is nice and clean.

… there’s a Haferkater in Essen. This boosts the availability of vegan snacks at the main station for 100%, and surely the food available here is by far the healthiest you can get here. Nice staff and great coffee (available with oat milk), too!

... surprisingly, you can also get vegan snacks at the Reformhaus next to the Haferkater. Staff is much nicer there.
