Excellent Italian vegan - Edit
All plant based Italian restaurant. You need to eat here, bring your friends, great vegan food and wine. Even whiskey/tequila sour cocktails with aquafaba foam.

Pros: 100% vegan fine dining , Almost can’t believe the ‘Calamari’ is plant based, Mushroom pappardelle

Have to disagree on the calamari and panna cotta. The other dishes look delicious though.

@Tiggy disagree based on photos? I’m sure this review was my opinion of the restaurant.

It looks like Tiggy reviewed this restaurant back in December 2021 when it first opened, commenting on both the calamari and panna cotta then (so opinion not based on photos)...maybe those dishes are better now? Great to see a fully vegan restaurant being well supported.

Delicious Italian Food - Edit
Editing my review as of March 2025. The food here is delicious. The service was great, and the ambiance of sitting outside on a warm night is lovely! Will definitely be coming back.

Second visit - Chef’s Reccomendation so filling - Edit
Second visit here and this time I had the 9 course degustation which was just way too much food. It all got eaten though.

Nice food - Edit
09-03-2025 I hadn’t been here for a while but I was seeing a show and it was convenient. The calamari was delicious. I haven’t had it for ages. I like the dressing they use with the salad. The carbonara was tasty too. It was just the right size for me. It got quite busy which is pleasing to see.
Read more22-11-2023 I had dinner here last night. I’ve been here a few times but last night I did think it wasn’t as nice as it usually is. The olives with bread was ok. I thought the pumpkin ravioli was nice but the pasta was a bit dry on the edges. Staff were nice.
I shared the degustation menu with a friend. We were seated upstairs and it became quite busy. The antipasto was amazing. I really enjoyed the calamari and eggplant particularly but it was all nice. I loved the pasta dishes, the mushroom in particular being the standout. Next came the schnitzel served with potatoes and the grilled “swordfish.” I wasn’t a big fan of the schnitzel and I wouldn’t order it from an a la carte menu but the potatoes were delicious. The grilled swordfish was amazing. Such a great flavour and texture. Then I still managed to fit the desserts in which were very decent sizes! I really liked the berries on the pannacotta and the dessert itself. The chocolate cheesecake was nice too. I’m looking forward to return to order from their al a carte menu. I also had an espresso martini which I enjoyed. The service was good with the only issue being that with each course, we were expecting to be told what the dish was but we weren’t told and eavesdropped when the next table had their dishes delivered.

The best vegan pasta I've ever had! - Edit
The best vegan authentic italian pasta I have ever had in Melbourne. My friend said her partner is Italian and he considers Funghi as one of the best vegan Italian he has had. The creamy pasta flavours were so delicious I thought it wasn't plantbased and had actual cows breastmilk cream in it! Will definitely be coming back to try every meal on the menu! My taste buds were having a orgasm! The pasta tasted even better knowing all of the menu is 100% plant based and cruelty free.

Incredible - Edit
I loved that it’s 100% plant based. We had the calamari and arancine as starters, and the fagottino and truffle pappardelle as mains. For dessert we had the caggionetti and tiramisu (best tiramisu I’ve ever had).

Disappointed - Edit
After all the accolades I was surprised. Atmosphere and service were fine. Prices were high for the standard of the food provided. We had the pumpkin ravioli - small serving and nothing special - no real flavour and the sage wasn't cooked enough. The carbonara was average - a large serving but boring after a few mouthfuls and not a good representative of a carbonara. For desert we had the
Read moreCaggionetti abbruzzesi - delicious but a tiny serve for the price. Presentation of the food too was lacking. The lasagne looks slapped on the plate. It probably didn't help that I'd been to Rococco the night before (similarly Italian) where the presentation was superb, large servings of very good food for a similar price and significantly cheaper drinks. The alcohol prices here are ridiculous.
Pros: All vegan , Atmosphere
Cons: Lack lustre dishes , expensive for what you get

Updated review, not so pleased - Edit
Mushroom truffle pasta is not to be missed. Words can’t describe how happy I am. The pumpkin ravioli in burnt sage butter was incredible. Highly recommend. The best birthday dinner of my life. Starters were fantastic, we had the Gorgonzola cheese platter and the Arancini stands outs as well.
Read moreUPDATE:
The pumpkin ravioli has changed and is no longer a burnt butter sage. Was super disappointed in this change and asked the waiter to send feedback to the chef.
The mushroom pasta however is the same and not to be missed. We also tried the gnocci with saffron this time and it wasn’t great either.

Massive let down. - Edit
This restaurant was meant to be one of the highlights of our trip to Melbourne. We were honestly shocked with how underwhelming and tasteless the food was. Doesn't deserve 2 stars. Been vegan for 10 years and never had such bad food at a fully vegan restaurant. At least the manager was kind enough to refund the entré dish after we expressed our disappointment.
Read morePros: It was quiet, no other customers
Cons: Poor hospitaly shown for an 'upscale' restaurant , Expensive for low quality, basic ingredients , Salt was only spice used it seemed

We went again to this place and I highly reviewed it and the quality and taste has definitely changed. It was very disappointing. I’m sorry you had this experience, this high key ruined our valentines

The tiramisu was a little disappointing as it was quite dry, it hadn't been soaked in enough liquid as there was no Amaretto taste, but the cream was really good, great texture.

Prices are too high.

Best Italian for Vegans - Edit
I went for my second time recently and the standard is still just as high as last year. Extensive (yet not overwhelming) menu, friendly and efficient service and super delicious food. The pumpkin ravioli was the best ravioli I’ve had. Great ambience, clean etc. Slightly expensive but worth it for the quality of food, portion size and service from staff. Can’t wait to visit again next year and try another dish.
