Safe and welcome, safe and welcome - Edit
Disclaimer: This was my first time Solo-Travellung and in the Netherlands, so I don't have much to compare my experience to.

It is not as far away from the Centraal Station as Google Maps makes it look like. I don't know why it wants you to walk 20 Minuten to a random bus stop when you can just walk 10 Minutes to the Molenwijk-Terminal or even less to Molenaarsweg (which may have a higher ticket price, depending on your ticket).
So you can get into the city fairly quickly or take a little more time to walk through the beautiful park-areas.
They prepare a different breakfast each day and it can certainly fill you up. I personally declined re-fills to leave room for other restaurants in the city.
Even if you aren't into this "psychedelic"-stuff and whatnot, I don't think you'd feel unwelcome here as it is not "shoved down your throat" or anything.
I'll definitely keep this place in mind should I ever re-visit Amsterdam.

Best vegan breakfast ever - Edit
We stayed at this absolutely lovely and loving hideaway from 22/0619 to 25/06/19, 35 minutes from the Central Station, and close to a lovely park with a windmill.
Read moreIn all our travels, we’ve never had better breakfast than what Sonia and Ben dish up. It just happens to also be a vegan breakfast.
Warmly recommended.
