Nice, healthy escape in Amsterdam

Small cozy place with a good vegan selection. We got the vegan version of the tasting menu for three people and enjoyed every dish, especially the cauliflower and hummus with roasted veggies.

Great hummus and falafel

Menu clearly stated the vegan options. We couldn’t really choose, so we picked the vegan taster menu.
We had to wait quite a while, but the waiters came to us to tell us they would check where our food was, without us having to ask. It didn’t take long after that.
The food itself was amazing, with creamy hummus and baba ganoush and tasty falafel. Also loved all the mini pickled side dishes, so every bite you took could be a different combination of things.
Also loved the rose scented coconut pudding dessert!

Pros: Flavours and textures , Desserts , Staff

Cons: Long wait

Lunch @ D&A Hummus bistro

Expectations were not met.

I came here with high expectations due to what I read on various social media. First of all, we waited 40 minutes for our food but all the stuff they do is clearly prepared beforehand (I won’t believe they make hummus or falafels on the spot). The food itself was quite good (although nothing exceptional) but way too overpriced. The worst part was the eggplant: 10,50€ for one roasted eggplant with some tahini is really unacceptable and ridiculous. Portions are not that big. Honestly would not come back.

Fantastic Hummus

Everything we had was really good! When ordering takeaway the vegan options are all labeled as vegan which was really helpful. The za'atar pita chips were particularly good

hip but a bit bland

just had a a falafel pita which was decent albeit a bit expensive and bland. To be expected from the area though. I’ll come back for the hummus though

Hummus ♥

The entrance to the restaurant is discreet, we pass by the front without notice, so pay attention. The food is really good and worth the visit. My highlight goes to the eggplant. It was one of the best meals in Amsterdam.
The service is very good and at the back of the restaurant you can see the kitchen and see how the dishes are prepared. There are many vegan options!

Perfect hummus! Wish I could give 5 stars, it definitely deserves it!

I was excited to go there and it lived up to my (high) expectations! The hummus with roasted vegetables was amazing, the hummus was creamy and silky in a way I didn't even know it was possible! (They also bring some toppings to the table like a orange cream that tasted delicious with the hummus.) We also had some falafels (amazing too) and the eggplant with pomegranate seeds, tahine and pine nuts (so rich in flavours and texture!). It's a place that every hummus lover should go!

I had the hummus cauliflower and it was so so tasty, the hummus is like silk and you don’t get bored with the taste. For €10 you get an enormous amount of food and a full belly

Tons of vegan options

Amazing hummus, pickled sides, pita, and the roasted cauliflower is a must. Probably one of my favorite meals in Amsterdam. Even though it may not be designated vegan, there are so many vegan options. They also offer a decent cocktail list.

Amazing hummus

The hummus served here is amazing! It is so creamy you could just eat it with a spoon. The bread and side platter served with the hummus are also very good. I will definately come back for more!

best chickpea situation in town

I had the hummus, falafel, and a salad and everything was so amazing. I have many allergies, including nuts, celiac, soy and they were able to accommodate. No stomach issues whatsoever, will definitely return!

Pros: Allergen friendly, Gluten free options

Great meal!

We went here for dinner and ordered the original hummus, falafel and a roasted sweet potato and fig salad. Everything was outstanding. The fig salad had a dollop of what looked like a soft cheese but it was easy to eat around it. The hummus came with two fresh baked pieces of bread. They had a couple of vegan desserts as well but we did not try those.

Pros: Several vegan options, Friendly service

Great good

Very busy when I was there, they didn't have a spot for us two, so I walked around for 15 min in the neighborhood. Apart from that we had an amazing meal. Had the vegan 'a bit of this and that', which was very tasty, I'd recommend it for sure! It's a pity they're not fully vegan, but I'd still recommend the restaurant.

Pros: Very Tasty food

Cons: Not fully vegan

amazing pita bread and baba ganoush wow!

Really nice pita bread and papa ganoush. Ask for their vegan 'a bit of this a bit of that' dish (the vegan one isn't on their chalkboard but is for sure (a great!) option. Place could improve hygene. An other d & a is in Amsterdam Oost at Oostenburgergracht 185, 1018 ND Amsterdam (across amazing vegetarian / vegan restaurant the Spirit!!!!!) this new place seems to have improved the hygene.

Pros: very tasty food, vegan options

Cons: lack of hygene, mostly very crowded

Hummus

Välj Hummus. Allt annat innehåller koriander och det är inget i min smak.
Mycket god hummus och rejält med pita. Man blir mätt. Små drickor dock 0,2 dl både på flaska och iste.

Pros: Hummus Hummus Hummus

Cons: Hög ljudnivå, Små drickor

Cosy atmosphere, great food...

...in fact, the only negative I think of to say about this place is that it is not fully vegan. Luckily though, the staff are more than happy to help vegans with the menu and are certainly knowledgeable about what vegan means. They are very friendly too, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming as is the décor; the brick walls contrast with modern features really well.

The breakfasts are heavy on eggs, but later in the day vegans are well catered for with generous portions of hummus with pita and salad - I had this with aubergine and an extra dip of tahini, and was full, and it was clear that the food was fresh. I didn't try it, but was also told that the cous cous with beef can be prepared as vegan, with baked aubergine. There's also a selection of drinks, including alcohol, and some really interesting flavours of juice, such as date and pomegranate.

For a juice, hummus and dip I paid 17 Euro, which is mid-range for Amsterdam, and based on the quality, portion size and service, I would say this is good value.

Pros: friendly staff, good portion sizes

Cons: not fully veg
