Best and cheapest vegan food anywhere - Edit
The plethora of glowing reviews already here are well deserved. Food is made with love, without animal cruelty, at low prices, and by skilled, friendly staff. There is also freely available drinking water here! Also, even though most of the souvlaki (pita wraps) have mushrooms in them, there is a wonderful lentil kebab option for those who don’t enjoy mushrooms 🙂

Great Greek Vegan Street-food - Edit
Cookoomela Grill was great! Located in downtown Athens, it was easy to walk to from one of the tourist sites that we were at. The menu is simple but the food is delicious - and cheap! Each dish is made fresh, to order. The potato wedges were also good, although there are a couple wedges in each serving too. Only downside is that there isn't a lot of seating, so take-away might be recommended.

Excellent Souvlaki! - Edit
I had a delicious vegan souvlaki. The "meat" here is made of mushrooms, and combined with some of the best fried potatoes you will ever eat, tomato sauce, and home-made vegan mayo, this sandwich is fantastic! The owners are lively and great fun to chat with.

Amazing! - Edit
Great place with one of the best vegan souvlaki in town. They have three different ones to choose from, the red, yellow and green souvlaki. I found the yellow to be the tastiest.
Read moreThey use a mixture of 4 different types of mushroom baked in the oven first then grilled for extra flavour.
Definitely a must try if you are passing by the hipster neighbourhood of Exarchia!
Enjoy!
Pros: All vegan! , Nice dessert too, occasionally , Friendly staff
Cons: Too small, Not many tables to sit out

Best Souvlaki Ever! - Edit
I was so excited when these guys opened last year and since then me and my friends are regular customers! All their food is vegan and so damn good! You can definitely tell that their ingredients are fresh and high quality. My fav is a yellow wrap and freshly cut fries won’t their organic homemade vegan mayo, its just too good! Better yet their packaging is biodegradable so perfect for those following a zerowaste/low impact lifestyle. Highly recommend!

Below average souvlaki. Nothing else to offer. - Edit
Advertised as the first vegan souvlaki although many vegan places in Athens did it first and much better. The sauces are nice but the mushrooms are below average. I've tried several vegan souvlaki and it's at the bottom. Not bad if you are close and hungry, but you can definitely find better.
Read moreThe problem is the lack of attention in the cooking process. Two tired guys nonstop grill mushrooms and mechanically put them in pita breads. The cashier calls your name and after several minutes of you standing outside, you get your food. It's a fast food robotic production solely for souvlaki. I even had to buy a bottle of water from the shop next to them.
There's only one table outside and it's on the pavement, surrounded by the people who wait for their name to be called. Otherwise you have to eat while walking in an infamous dirty neighbourhood.
It's great to have one more vegan place in Athens but now that there are more than a few, it's time to raise the standards.
Pros: cheap
Cons: Below average taste, only serves souvlaki, No room to enjoy it whether you sit or walk, Fast food mentality, low quality

what a vegan you are ,you need a plastic bottle of water ! You are a high class person ,you should never come back to infamous ,dirty and poor Exarchia !

Long wait, small menu but yummy food - Edit
We had to walk here from Plaka and the the wait was long (Before 5pm) and the seating not much but the food was really nice. Trustworthy vegan. Would have eaten another portion but the wait was too long (not sure about the wait as they basically offer one dish only, should be faster).
