Very friendly stuff and delicious food - Edit
A little place in the middle of Hanoi, with a loud street in front of it. Only matters when sitting on the balcony. For us, it was interesting to watch the traffic of Hanoi for the first time.

It's a very classy restaurant and the food justifies it. Ignore some of the loosy translations like the "gruel" dessert when it's just a nice custard/pudding. The spring rolls were extremely good too

Our visit to Chay Food & Dessert was very pleasant. The staff were welcoming and it was a relaxing and calm place (maybe because we visited outside of peak times?). It was a great location to cool down after walking through the heat all morning.
Read moreMy husband had the singapore fried noodles and loved them. I had the Hoanh Thanh soup and enjoyed it, too, although it was not the best soup ever. But we do recommend a visit here! It was also great to have total peace of mind since this restaurant is completely vegan.

Really pretty restaurant however both the pho and bun rieu were trying to be too healthy at the price of taste. Was a bit disappointed by the lack of flavour.

Stopped here for some spring rolls as a snack while passing, they were some of the best I tried in Hanoi! We came back for breakfast and they have a combo deal where you can get a drink, a main and some fruit for a set price.
Read moreThey had some interesting breakfast options like mushroom porridge, but we tried the two bahn mi flavours they were offering - both delicious. Not the best bahn mi in Hanoi though!
The staff were super lovely and if we had time on our trip then we definitely would’ve been back to try the dinner as well!

I came here for lunch and was not disappointed! I usually don’t like fresh spring rolls because of the texture but the Pho rolls were amazing and served with the most delicious peanut dip. I also had the banh mi which was fab!

This was the first place we went to in Vietnam! Pretty cheap (although there are far cheaper options in Vietnam) and I had a large portion. The staff were nice and helpful, and the food was pretty good. It was nice not to have to worry about the language gap with regards to being vegan!

Had mushroom tofu burgers. Taco and brown rice noodles salad. All excellent and fresh. Clear menu in pictures and English and English speaking staff. Maybe a,safe option before exploring others

We ended up eating here a few times while in Hanoi. The Pate Bread (mushroom Banh Mi) was absolutely delicious - easily one of the best Banh Mi’s we had and the fried spring rolls were incredible. Sitting on the balcony had a great view. Overall a great restaurant to try

Food is great. Soup was tasty, springrolls too. But they serve only one dessert. A sweet toddy palm soup which I absolutely loved. Never ate a toddy palm fruit before, but with coconut its something like a fruity pudding and I highly recommend to give it a try.

The food was not bad but somehow insipid and the portions I found, were very small. I have never seen such a tiny Pho. Also the table we were shown , was dirty and the menus placed merciless on the puddle of sticky leftovers of the people before us.

Came here for dinner and absolutely loved it! The service was great, with nice recommendations of what to try. I had the summer rolls and the pho and both were delicious. Atmosphere nice inside and reasonable prices. Would really recommend coming here.
