Menu is not overwhelming, food was delicious! We’ve visited this restaurant multiple times and we will be back again. Staff is friendly and speaks english, enviroment is clean and tidy.

This place is lovely, service was really wonderful and the food is incredible. All vegan, with a very large menu of so many choices. We had 2 apps and 2 larger dishes and were quite full but we wanted to try a lot of things! The flavors are amazing, and we got to try new Vietnamese dishes we have never had before… it’s really wonderful when you can find a place that serves traditional dishes veganized. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the Lake and really cute inside. If you are Hanoi definitely check it out!

The noodle soups available here are meals in and of themselves. They’re very flavourful and should suit single diners. There are many other options too - particularly if you fancy rice dishes or like finger food like spring rolls. The ambience is relaxing and the welcome is nice. An Apartheid-free Palestine, from the River Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea!

The staff speaks and was really nice, they showed me how to roll the spring rolls and suggested I'd eat the noodles right away so it wouldn't get too overcooked. Nice atmosphere and good food although on the pricier side for Hanoi.

Best pho in Hanoi - Edit
All of the food tasted authentic and was so fresh. The pho - Hanoi style bun rieu - was outstanding compared to others we tried in omni restaurants. The banh mi was excellent too. The fried spring rolls were super dense and flavoursome. My favourite dish was the mushrooms with roasted rice that came with a mountain of fresh herbs and lots of rice paper for rolling. Fun and tasty too.

My favorite restaurant near Hoan Kiem Lake in Old Town Hanoi - Edit
I ate three breakfasts (downstairs) and a dinner (upstairs) here at Chayfood and was totally delighted by the experience. Super-delicious, really inexpensive vegan Vietnamese food in a clean, lovely styled ambience with mellow lighting and lyrical jazz music playing in the background. It's wonderful that they open so early (6 a.m.) for travelers like myself who want to explore adventurous, lengthy sightseeing itineraries. The gentle young owner (or morning manager?) is so very friendly. I highly recommend Chayfood.

Really nice vegan menu with lots to choose from and everything is done so thoughtfully! The food is bursting with flavor, you can tell a some love went into the food. It’s so nice to dine someplace that creates a menu for vegans and does it well! I had the bamboo noodle soup with vegan sausage. The vegan meat was not too heavy and the soup and a wonderful fragrant lemongrass taste.

We got a Kale salad, spring rolls and mushroom pho. This was enough for the two of us. Everything was great. Excellent service. A tad on the pricey side for Hanoi but still not too expensive. I would recommend as a nice sit down place that is quiet and clean.

I had the cashew and pumpkin soup, followed by the phơ. Both were very good, so flavoursome! I went for dinner and stayed on the balcony, what a beautiful spot! The staff was also very nice and professional.

We had summer rolls with peanut sauce and banh mi with fried tofu and cheese sauce. The summer rolls were good (especially the sauce) but not very filling (only 8 really tiny pieces), banh mi a bit dry. The coffee with plant milk is very delicious, though.

Great for jet lagged vegans who want a nice breakfast at 6am. The morning set came with a choice of drink and fresh fruit. Nice ambiance and the staff were super friendly.

I had the fresh spring rolls w peanut butter sauce and it was so good! Also the brown rice noodle with mushrooms were so delicious! I really liked the place and will come back! It has a peaceful environment with calm music in the background. So nice as on the streets it is chaos is Hanoi.

Eatery was close to my hotel in old city so are here twice. There are 3/4 window seats available on the second floor. Would go for the mushroom pho.
