Out of this world. Go here!

I would travel to Austin just for this. My partner and I were in town for just one night while passing through on a road trip, and we’re so glad we chose this spot for breakfast on our way out.

The vibe is definitely unique and cool. There are so many little, special touches - from the collection of different light fixtures (my favorite was either the one made from bicycle tires or the one made from paintbrushes) to the wall art to the little image of Totoro painted on a shelf. It’s eccentric and fun.

We were greeted by a host who exuded that air of effortless coolness, where they don’t need to try or care. Maybe because they are paid a livable wage, so they can just be themselves? After we were shown to a table we were quickly greeted by our very sweet, attentive waitress with a killer outfit who kindly helped us decide between our options. If you only get one shot at a restaurant and don’t know when you’ll get the chance to return, you want to pick the right items! I was pleased to see that they treat and pay their staff well here. I’m sure it contributes to the excellent service.

The food blew our minds. The pesto is out of this world; I wish I had the recipe for it. The queso with chorizo is incredible. The blueberry cornbread was scrumptious. Great coffee, too! Everything was to die for. I wish I lived here just so I could eat my way through the whole menu. They’re doing something very right here. #Veganuary

Pros: Pesto, Queso, Atmosphere

Always great food

Everything can be vegan but if you are not they offer dairy and eggs as a choice. Never had a bad meal here, portions are generally massive #Veganuary

Huge menu

As a vegan, I almost skipped this place because they are not fully vegan and that would have been sad. The atmosphere and the huge menu is worth going back multiple times.

Get the Potato Leek Omelet, Grilled Blueberry Cornbread, and the Migas plate.

I come here twice a week.

I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten here. I get the spicy pesto every single time and I love an all day breakfast place. If they have the cinnamon rolls (if they haven’t sold out) you must get one!

Weekly visits

Honestly, I've yet to find anything wrong with this restaurant. My girlfriend and I have gone twice in the last 2 weeks. Other than my homemade cheese sauce, Bouldin Creek has the best cheese sauce I've ever had.

Pros: The cheese sauce, The atmosphere, The stained glass bats

Fav restaurant in Austin

Words cannot describe how much I love bouldin creek. Everything on the menu can be made vegan, and everything on the menu is outstanding!! Their tofu scramble is the best I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend the oven cake breakfast (comes with blueberry cornbread). Also love their seasonal lattes and desserts. It’s so cute inside (and outside) and service is always great! Also love the fair wage system!

Pros: Best tofu scramble, All food is incredible, Such a cute atmosphere and great service

One of my fave restaurants in the world!

In Austin from the northeast for a yoga retreat, my hosts took me to dinner at this restaurant, and I have to say it is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere in the world! I love the extensive, eclectic menu -- and the fact that a vegan version is offered for every dish. I had the Fall Harvest Bowl with added beets, and really appreciated how healthful as well as flavorful this dish was. I also shared some delicious cornbread with my table mates, had a refreshing ginger soda -- and rounded out the incredible meal with a peanut butter cup dessert. The staff were kind and funny, and their service was super efficient too!

Pros: Extensive, eclectic menu , Delicious healthy food, Kind and efficient staff

Cons: Absolutely no cons!!

Lavender Mocha with Soy. Yum!

My morning ritual begins and ends at Bouldin Creek Cafe. Their lavender mocha with soy makes any other coffee house run for their money. The staff is always friendly and their many vegan options are a breath of relief. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Pros: Lavender Mocha with soy , Vegan breakfast platters , Friendly staff

Cons: Parking during peak hours

Amazing food!

Went with a large party, mix of Vegan, vegetarians, and no dietary restrictions. Everyone was able to find something that fit their preferences, there was non-vegan options such as adding a real egg.

The food was delicious and it was a great atmosphere. The menu was very clearly labeled for gluten free options or substitutes to make it happen. The portions were large, most of the party went home with leftovers.

Their South Austin Stir Fry was delicious and reminded me of Pad Thai. The Pesto was very good, however didn’t seem very pesto-y.

Pros: Priced well for the portions, Delicious food with lots of options, Clearly labeled ingredients and GF labeled.

Cons: Server seemed inexperienced

Mostly Vegan (some veg), Great Atmosphere

Really glad we discovered this place while visiting Austin. The food is fantastic! We tried several dishes, seems any vegetarian dishes can easily be ordered vegan by replacing dairy cheese or sauces with even better nondairy alternatives. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor!

Pros: Huge menu with lots of variety prices reasonable , Vegan cheeses and sauces can replace any dairy, Great atmosphere and service!

Stop what you’re doing and go to Bouldin Creek!

We had brunch here twice while in Austin and it was amazing both times! First of all they had a great variety of coffee, lattes and matcha. The Lavender Mocha is incredible.

For brunch, I had the Potato Leek omelette, something I would have never expected to see on the menu! It was delicious, made with tofu scramble and seasoned so well.

They give you a ton of food here, you’ll leave full and maybe even with leftovers for later! Next time I’m in Austin this will probably be the first place I eat.😄

Amazing gem in central Austin

This vegetarian and mostly vegan restaurant & café has a broad variety of very tasty vegan dishes covering breakfast lunch and dinner. The service is excellent and the food is delicious and the atmosphere is very typically Austin. The tex-med options are very inspired.

Solid restaurant

Appetizers: My fav is the Queso with the house made veggie chorizo. The blueberry cornbread is also yummy.

Best entree in my opinion is the veggie Royal. It’s hard not to get it every time i go. But you can go wrong with any dish

Very good--will return

We ordered vegan queso, Verde enchilada bowl, and the la dona sandwich. We loved the sandwich and really liked everything else. Would rate 5, but the tortilla chips tasted like really stale tostitos!

Vegan Benedict!

Their vegan Benedict with hollandaise is too good! A little heavy on the nooch but overall, I'd give it a 10/10 (I really like nooch)! Their mocha is really good too.

Pros: Renedict, Mocha, Very Inclusive (LGBTQIA+ Friendly)

Cons: Not all vegan

Super cool vegan joint in ATX!

All Vegan cuisine in downtown Austin, TX!

Food****
We got the following:

South Austin Stir Fry (GF)
$13.00
Rice noodles, broccoli, wild mushrooms, red onions, carrot coins & red/green cabbage stir-fried in a teriyaki ginger miso sauce. Topped with crushed peanuts & Yellowbird agave sriracha drizzle | Contains peanuts |

Tarzen’s Big Salad (GF)
$12.50
Marinated portobellos & stir-fried broccoli tossed in nutritional yeast served over organic spring mix, with avocado, carrots, sunflower sprouts, local tomatoes & sunflower seeds. dressed with chipotle–pecan pesto & ginger miso dressing

Both were very good and lots of awesome flavors but the big salad was definitely the winner here. The yeast added a great flavor profile.

Atmosphere****
Very hippie and cool! We liked the atmosphere as it has something for everyone straight, gay, family, etc. There is parking and it is wheelchair accessible. Lots of seating with private space.

Service****
Great and friendly service. Be prepared to offer a tip plus a tip as they do a community pool on the tip they add to your card plus ask for additional but you can decline (we don’t recommend that as these people work hard and deserve more than just the community tip).

Price $$
$ = under $10 a dish, $$ = under $15 a dish, $$$ = under 20 a dish, $$$$ = over $20 a dish
Under $15 a dish
